WARNING!
Use extreme caution when working with batteries. Sulfuric acid in batteries can cause severe injury if allowed to contact the skin or eyes.
Explosive hydrogen gas is vented from the batteries through openings in the battery caps. This gas can be ignited by any electrical arc,
spark or fl ame. Do not install any lead-acid battery in a sealed container or enclosure. Hydrogen gas from overcharging must be allowed
to escape.
WARNING!
Do not fi ll the batteries before charging.
Charge batteries in a well-ventilated area.
Do not smoke while servicing the batteries.
When Servicing Batteries...
* Remove all jewelry
* Do not smoke
* Wear safety glasses, rubber gloves and a rubber apron
* Work in a well-ventilated area
* Do not allow tools to touch more than one battery terminal at a time
* ALWAYS disconnect the negative (ground) cable fi rst when replacing batteries to prevent sparks.
* ALWAYS connect the negative cable last when installing batteries.
1 Check the setting of the dip switches on your charger. See the chart below for the proper setting. Note: Only if you are using the charger with
AGM batteries will you need to move the position of the switches to match that shown below for AGM batteries. If you are not using AGM
batteries leave the switches in their default positions.
Charger set to default charging curve 1 for flooded batteries.
No changes to charging curve required.
2 See Figure 1. Install the Battery Charger (6) on the rear panel of the chassis as shown using hardware Items (2, 3 & 4).

Dip switches are accessible by lifting up the left
corner of dis
7See Figure 5. Connect the BLK Cable (A) to the Electrical Mount (B) on the right. Connect the RED Cable (C) to the Electrical Mount (D) in the
middle.
8In the general area of the Speed Controller (E) you will fi nd a single violet wire connected to (3) violet wires via terminal tab connectors. Pull
these connectors apart.
9Connect the single White Wire (F) from the battery charger to the (3) violet wires disconnected in step 8. Connect the single Black Wire (G) from
the battery charger to the single violet wire disconnected in step 8. NOTE: The white and black wires are one of the (3) wires referenced in step
6 routed inside a single conduit (H).
IMPORTANT!
Verify that no charger wires are pinched or routed through small diameter turns, that there is no potential for rubbing against any sharp
edges, and that wires do not hang down where they may be susceptible to damage.
10 Tie Strap (1) the (3) wires from the battery charger to the existing wiring harness bundle which is also routed up through the same opening in the
body.
11 Reinstall the front Panel (B) removed in step 5.
OPERATIONAL NOTE: Before charging the batteries, open the battery compartment cover to allow proper ventilation. If you use one of these
battery chargers as a shelf unit the charger has to be unplugged from the wall between charging sessions otherwise it will not start a second charging
session.
