PRODUCT OVERVIEW
1. Touchscreen Display
Displays music source information, menus, function control keys, and the custom
image. Touch the rendered images on the display to activate the various functions
2. Active Zone
The room currently controlled by the TS-Pro
3. Status Bar
The status of the selected source device: Play, Pause, Mute, and Shuffle icons appear when
selected
4. Volume Level Indicators
A bar graph and a numeric display indicate the current volume level in the
Active Zone
5. Source Select Keys
Pressing a Source Select key plays the selected source in the Active Zone. Up to three Source Select keys are displayed at a time. Press the arrow to show additional Source Select keys (if available). When a new source is selected, the touchscreen display will show that source’s primary screen
6. Navigation Keys
These keys access source control functions and/or additional control screens for the
selected source
7. Off Key
Tap to turn the Active Zone off. The source device, if not playing in another zone, will also turn off
after a short delay. Tap it again to force the touchscreen off. Press-and-hold to turn the entire system off
8. Prev and Next Keys
Select the next or previous track or radio channel, depending on the current source
9. Niles Key
A multi-function key
When the Active Zone is off and the backlight is off or the custom image is displayed, pressing the
Niles key will automatically play the last selected source. The Niles key will illuminate to indicate that the Active Zone is on
When the Active Zone is on (the Niles key is illuminated), pressing the Niles key brings up the Choose
Room Menu
Pressing-and-holding the Niles key for three seconds accesses the Setup Menu (Audio Settings, Display
Settings, Radio Preset Names)
10. Vol+ /Vol- Keys
Raise and lower the volume in the Active Zone
11. Mute Key
Silences the sound in the Active Zone without affecting the source device. When the Active Zone
is muted, pressing the Mute key, the Vol+ key, or the Vol- key will un-mute the zone

TURNING THE SYSTEM ON AND OFF
1. If the Active Zone is off and the touchscreen display is off or the custom image is displayed, press the Niles key to turn the system on. The touchscreen display will illuminate and the last-played source will begin playing in the Active Zone.
2. If the Active Zone is off or if the Active Zone is already on but the touchscreen display is
off, press anywhere on the touchscreen display to illuminate it. Then press a Source key to begin playing that source.
3. To turn the Active Zone off, press the Off key once. Press-and-hold the Off key to turn
the entire system off. When the Active Zone is off, press the Off key a second time to immediately turn off the touchscreen display, if still illuminated.

1. With the touchscreen display illuminated, press the Radio Source Select key.
The last-played radio station will begin playing in the Active Zone.

Radio station information will be shown on the touchscreen.

Press the Next key to advance to the next preset radio station. Press the Prev key to go back a preset station.

TUNING RADIO STATIONS
1. With the system on, press the Radio Source Select key.
2. Press the Tune key. The tuning screen will be shown.
3. Enter the station frequency numbers using the touchscreen and then press Ent (Enter). The selected station will begin playing and the ‘Radio Now Playing” screen will be shown.
4. Or Press the Seek Up and Seek Down arrows to seek to the next available station. When
you reach the desired station, press Ent to return to the “Radio Now Playing” screen.
5. Or press the Seek Up and Seek Down arrows to seek the next available station.
6. The Band key toggles between AM and FM.
7. Press the Main key to return to the “Radio Now Playing” screen.

SELECTING A PRESET RADIO STATION
1. With the system on, press the Radio Source Select key
2. Press the Preset key. The preset radio stations are
displayed. Use the Up and Down arrows to scroll through all available preset radio stations
3. Press the desired preset radio station. The station will play and the touchscreen will return to the “Radio Now Playing” screen
SAVING A PRESET RADIO STATION
1. With the system on, press the Radio Source Select key
2.
Press the Tune key. The tuning screen is shown
3. Tune in the desired station and then press Add Preset
4.
In the “Presets - Select Preset Location” screen, select a location for the preset station. There are 20 preset station
locations. Use the
Up and Down arrows to scroll to an
unused location or scroll to an existing preset station you would like to replace. Press the unused location or the existing preset station. The new station will appear in this location
5.
Press the Tune key to enter another preset station or press the
Main key to return to the “Radio Now Playing” screen

PLAYING AN iPod
®
1. With the touchscreen display illuminated, press the iPod Source Select key. The last played song on the iPod will begin playing in the Active Zone. The “iPod Now Playing” screen will show the current Artist, Song, and Album.
2. Press the Pause key to put the iPod in pause. When in pause, press the Play key to resume
playback.

ACCESSING THE iPod MENU
1. From the iPod Now Playing screen, press the Main Menu key. NOTE: All iPod menus are generated by the connected iPod, not the TS-Pro. The menus will function in the same manner and in the same order as in the connected iPod. Only one user can access the iPod menu at a time. If you try to access the iPod menu when it is being accessed by another user, “iPod Menu in Use” will be briefly displayed on the touchscreen.
2. The Up and Down arrows scroll through the Main Menu options. Press the desired option
and proceed in a manner similar to the actual iPod.
3. Press the Shuffle key to put the iPod in shuffle mode.
4. Press the Now Playing key to return to the “iPod Now Playing” screen.

iPod SEARCH FUNCTIONS
1. From the “iPod Now Playing” screen, press the Main
Menu key. After selecting an item from the Main Menu,
the Search key will appear in the navigation bar.
2. Press the Search key to access the “iPod Search” screen.
3. To search for a name, enter up to four letters from the name you are searching for. To enter numbers, press the 123 key. To go back to the letters, press ABC. The
search name you enter will appear in the black display area on the navigation bar. Press the
key to clear
characters one at a time.
4. Press Go to initiate the search. The search results will
be displayed. NOTE: The search function results are determined by the connected iPod. To alter the way the search results are displayed, they must be changed in the iPod. See your iPod manual for details.

1. With the system on and touchscreen illuminated, press the desired Source Select key. The source will begin playing in the Active Zone and the appropriate control screen will be displayed on the touchscreen.
2. Operate the source by pressing the keys in the control screen. NOTE: If a key was not
configured with a command, it will appear as unavailable (grayed out).

THE SETUP MENU
Entering the Setup Menu:
1. Press-and-hold the Niles Key for three seconds.
2. Select Audio Settings, Display Settings, or Radio Preset Names, and then follow the
instructions on the next pages of this User Guide.
3. Press Exit to return to the “Now Playing” screen.

CHANGING THE AUDIO SETTINGS
1. Select Audio Settings; the Audio Settings menu will be displayed.
2. Adjust the Bass and Treble with the + and – keys. The bass and treble levels are indicated
graphically.
3. Press the Loudness button to toggle between On or Off.
4. Press Default to return the audio settings to the center flat position.
5. Press Back to return to the Setup Menu, or Exit to return to the “Now Playing” screen.

1. Select Display Settings; the “Setup - Display Settings” screen will be displayed.
2. Select Key Clicks On/Off, Select Color Scheme, Backlight
Timeout, Custom Image Display, or Virtual Room Timeout.
3. Press Back to return to the Setup Menu, or Exit to return to the “Now Playing” screen.
KEY CLICKS ON/OFF
Choose between a click when keys are pressed or silent operation.
1. Press the Key Clicks button to toggle between on or off.
SELECT COLOR SCHEME
Five display color schemes available for the TS-Pro.
1. Select Niles Blue, Fire (red), Evergreen (green), Slate (gray), or Terra (brown) as the display’s background color scheme.
BACKLIGHT TIMEOUT
Adjusts how long the touchscreen stays illuminated after the last key press.
1. Adjust the Backlight Timeout with the + key and the – key (0-240 seconds).
2. Press the box to the left of Backlight Always On to keep the touchscreen illuminated at all times. A check mark will appear in the box. The slider and keys will appear grayed out.
NOTE: When “Backlight Always On” is selected, the
backlight can still be turned off by pressing the Off
key
when the Active Zone is off.

CUSTOM IMAGE DISPLAY
The installer must load the custom image during the ZR-6 configuration. If a custom image has not been loaded, this feature will not be available.
The idle time (the length of time after the last key press) before the custom image is shown can be adjusted in Custom Image Display Timer.
1. Adjust the Custom Image Display Timer with the + key and the – key (5-60 seconds).
2. Press the box to the left of Hide Custom Image to always hide the custom image. A check mark will appear in the box. When the box is checked, the custom image will never be displayed.
NOTE: It is possible to set the Backlight Timer to turn off
before the custom image is shown. In this case, the custom image will never be shown.
VIRTUAL ROOM TIMEOUT
A TS-Pro can control any room in the system, but will revert back to its default room after a preset length of time (the Virtual Room Timeout).
1.
Adjust the Virtual Room Timeout with the + and – keys (10-240 seconds).
NOTE: Whole house control or a group of rooms is treated the same as a virtual room and will revert to the default room in the same manner.

Any preset radio station can be custom named by station name, call letters, genre, etc. Once a custom name is created, it automatically appears on all other TS-Pro touchscreens in the system.
1.
Press-and-hold the

Radio Preset Names
; the Setup Radio Preset Names menu will be displayed with all preset radio stations, their station frequency numbers, preset numbers, and if previously entered, custom names.
3.
Find the radio preset station you wish to name. Use the Up and Down arrows to scroll to more stations.
4.
Press the
radio preset station
. A keyboard with capital
letters will be displayed. Select
abc
to toggle to lower case letters. From the lower case letter keyboard, select
?123
to toggle to numerals and special characters.
5.
Enter the desired radio preset name (up to 10 characters). You can delete a character or number by pressing the
key.
6.
Press
Save.
7.
Press
Back
and repeat steps 3-6 to create another custom
name.
8.
When done, press
Exit
. The ZR-6 MultiZone Receiver will shut down for approximately 5 seconds, restart, and automatically transmit the new names to all TS-Pro touchscreens in the system.

ADVANCED FEATURES
CONTROLLING A VIRTUAL ROOM
The TS-Pro is configured during installation to control a default room (usually the room it is located in- the living room, kitchen, etc.) but can also control any other room of the ZR-6 system. These additional rooms are known as virtual rooms. For example, a TS-Pro in the den (the default room) can control the sound in the master bedroom (the virtual room). The room currently being controlled is indicated on the left corner of the status bar (the Active Zone). The TS-Pro will revert back to controlling the default room after the time set in the Virtual Room Timer has expired.
1. With the touchscreen display active (backlight on) press the Niles Key. The “Choose Room…” screen will appear. The current Active Zone is highlighted.
2. Use the Up and Down arrows to scroll through the available rooms.
3. To select a virtual room to control, press its Room Name.
4. Press Exit. The touchscreen display will show the control screen appropriate for the virtual room.
5. The TS-Pro will revert back to controlling its default room after the time set in the Virtual Room Timer has expired.

SIMULTANEOUSLY CONTROLLING MULTIPLE ROOMS
1.
When the Active Zone is on (the Niles key is illuminated), pressing the Niles key brings up the
“Choose Room…”
menu. The current Active Zone is highlighted.
2.
Press
Whole House
. (If you can’t see Whole House on the screen, use the Up and
Down
arrows to scroll to it). The “Choose Rooms to Control” screen will appear.
3.
All rooms highlighted in white will be controlled simultaneously by this TS-Pro. Pressing the room name will either highlight the name or turn the highlight off.
4.
Press Go to exit the menu and save the room selections. The Status Bar will say Whole House. The commands issued from this TS-Pro will now affect all of the selected rooms.
NOTE:
The Vol+ and Vol- keys raise and lower the volume in all selected rooms simultaneously, while maintaining their relative volume levels. In other words, if the music in the dining room is playing softly, it will play a little bit louder when the Vol + key is pressed. Simultaneously, if the music in the family room is loud, it will play even louder. The TS-Pro will revert back to controlling its default room after the time set in the Virtual Room Timer.

LIMITED WARRANTY
Niles Audio Corporation (“NILES”) warrants to the original retail purchaser only that this product will be free of manufacturing defects in material and workmanship for the following periods and subject to the limitations and exclusions set forth below:
Lifetime Warranty All Passive Loudspeaker Products (those not requiring AC or battery power).
Ten years from the date of purchase All Other Passive Products (those not requiring AC or battery power).
Two years from the date of purchase All Active Products (those requiring AC or battery power).
This warranty is not transferable to subsequent purchasers of the product. To obtain warranty service, contact the authorized dealer where you purchased your product or take the unit to the nearest authorized NILES dealer (with proof of purchase – claims made without proof of purchase will be denied) who will test the product and if necessary, forward it to NILES for service. If there are no authorized NILES dealers in your area, you must contact NILES to receive a factory Return Authorization Number. DO NOT RETURN ANY UNIT WITHOUT FIRST RECEIVING WRITTEN AUTHORIZATION AND SHIPPING INSTRUCTIONS FROM NILES.
Upon examination, NILES will, at its sole option and expense, repair or replace any product found to be defective. NILES will return the repaired or replaced unit to you via its usual shipping method from the factory to your address in the United States of America or Canada only. Any shipping costs for addresses outside of the United States or Canada shall be the responsibility of the purchaser. In the event that this model is no longer available and cannot be repaired effectively, NILES, at its sole option, may replace it with a different model of equal or greater value, or refund the original purchase price paid. THE FOREGOING ARE YOUR EXCLUSIVE
REMEDIES FOR BREACH OF WARRANTY.
This Warranty does not include service or parts to repair damage caused by improper use or handling, including but not limited to damage caused by accident, mishandling, improper installation, commercial use, abuse, negligence, or normal wear and tear, or any defect caused by repair to the product by anyone other than NILES.
This warranty does not cover reimbursement for your costs of removing and transporting the product for warranty service evaluation, or installation of any replacement product provided under this warranty.
This Warranty will be void if:
The Serial Number on the product has been removed, tampered with or defaced. • The product was not purchased from an authorized dealer or reseller.

THE FOREGOING WARRANTIES ARE EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER EXPRESSED AND IMPLIED WARRANTIES. NILES EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL SUCH OTHER WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, WITH RESPECT TO THE PRODUCT. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NILES SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES EXCEPT TO THE EXTENT PROVIDED (OR PROHIBITED) BY APPLICABLE LAW, EVEN IF NILES HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
Notwithstanding the above, if you qualify as a “consumer” under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, or applicable state laws, then you may be entitled to any implied warranties allowed by law for the Warranty Period. Further, some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts or allow the exclusion or limitation of consequential damages, so such limitations may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
