WARNINGS!
a) Install the gate operator only when:

1) The operator is appropriate for the construction of the gate and the usage Class

of the gate,

2) All openings of a horizontal slide gate are guarded or screened from the bottom of
the gate to a minimum of 4 feet (1.22 m) above the ground to prevent a 2-1/4 inch
(57.2 mm) diameter sphere from passing through the openings anywhere in the gate,
and in that portion of the adjacent fence that the gate covers in the open position,

b) The operator is intended for installation only on gates used for vehicles. Pedestrians must

be supplied with a separate access opening. The pedestrian access opening shall be
designed to promote pedestrian usage. Locate the gate such that persons will not come
in contact with the vehicular gate during the entire path of travel of the vehicular gate.

c) The gate must be installed in a location so that enough clearance is supplied between

the gate and adjacent structures when opening and closing to reduce the risk of en­trapment. Swinging gates shall not open into public access areas.

d) The gate must be properly installed and work freely in both directions prior to the in-

stallation of the gate operator. Do not over-tighten the operator clutch or pressure
relief valve to compensate for a damaged gate.

f) Controls intended for user activation must be located at least six feet (6’) away from

any moving part of the gate and where the user is prevented from reaching over,
under, around or through the gate to operate the controls. Outdoor or easily acces­sible controls shall have a security feature to prevent unauthorized use.

g) The Stop and/or Reset button must be located in the line-of-sight of the gate. Acti-

vation of the reset control shall not cause the operator to start.

h) A minimum of two (2) WARNING SIGNS shall be installed, one on each side of the

gate where easily visible.

i) For gate operators utilizing a non-contact sensor in accordance with 31.1.1:

1) See instructions on the placement of non-contact sensors for each Type of appli-

cation,

2) Care shall be exercised to reduce the risk of nuisance tripping, such as when a
vehicle, trips the sensor while the gate is still moving, and

3) One or more non-contact sensors shall be located where the risk of entrapment
or obstruction exists, such as the perimeter reachable by a moving gate or barrier.

“CHEK THE LOCAL CODES BEFORE INSTALLED THE AUTOMATION”.

“CONTROLS MUST BE FAR ENOUGH FROM THE GATE SO THAT THE USER IS
PREVENTED FROM COMING IN CONTACT WITH THE GATE WHILE OPERATING
THE CONTROLS”.

IMPORTANT INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS WARNING – To reduce the risk of
severe injury or death:

1. READ AND FOLLOW ALL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS.

2. Install only on a properly balanced garage door. An improperly balanced door has

the potential to inflict severe injury. Have a qualified service person make repairs to
cables, spring assemblies, and other hardware before installing the opener.

3. Remove all ropes and remove or make inoperative all locks connected to the
garage door before installing opener.

4. Where possible, install the door opener 7 feet or more above the floor. For products
having an emergency release, mount the emergency release 6 feet above the floor.

5. Do not connect the opener to source of power until instructed to do so.

6. Locate the control button: (a) within sight of door, (b) at a minimum height of 5 feet so

small children are not able to reach it, and (c) away from all moving parts of the door.

7. Install the Entrapment Warning Label next to the control button in a prominent loca­tion. Install the Emergency Release Marking. Attach the marking on or next to the
emergency release.

8. After installing the opener, the door must reverse when it contacts a 1-1/2-inch high
object (or a 2 by 4 board laid flat) on the floor.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS WARNING – To reduce the risk of severe
injury or death:

2. Never let children operate or play with door controls. Keep the remote control away

from children.

3. Always keep the moving door in sight and away from people and objects until it is

completely closed. NO ONE SHOULD CROSS THE PATH OF THE MOVING
DOOR.

4. NEVER GO UNDER A STOPPED, PARTIALLY OPEN DOOR.

5. Test door opener monthly. The garage door MUST reverse on contact with a 1-

1/2-inch high object (or a 2 by 4 board laid flat) on the floor. After adjusting either
the force or the limit of travel, retest the door opener. Failure to adjust the opener
properly increases the risk of severe injury or death.

6. For products having an emergency release, when possible, use the emergency

release only when the door is closed. Use caution when using this release with the
door open. Weak or broken springs are capable of increasing the rate of door clo­sure and increasing the risk of severe injury or death.

7. KEEP GARAGE DOORS PROPERLY BALANCED. See owner’s manual. An

improperly balanced door increases the risk of severe injury or death. Have a qual­ified service person make repairs to cables, spring assemblies, and other hard­ware.

8. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.

“RESIDENTIAL VEHICULAR GATE OPERATOR – CLASS I – A vehicular gate operator

(or system) intended for use in a home of one-to four single family dwelling, or a garage
or parking area associated therewith”.

“COMMERCIAL/GENERAL ACCESS VEHICULAR GATE OPERATOR – CLASS II – A
vehicular gate operator (or system) intended for use in a commercial location or build­ing such as a multi-family housing unit (five or more single family units), hotel, garages,
retail store, or other building servicing the general public”.

“INDUSTRIAL/LIMITED ACCESS VEHICULAR GATE OPERATOR – CLASS III – A vehicu­lar gate operator (or system) intended for use in an industrial location or building such as a
factory or loading dock area or other locations not intended to service the general public”.

“RESTRICTED ACCESS VEHICULAR GATE OPERATOR – CLASS IV – A vehicular gate
operator (or system) intended for use in a guarded industrial location or building such as
an airport security area or other restricted access locations not servicing the general
public, in which unauthorized access is prevented via supervision by security personnel”.

the force or the limit of travel, retest the gate operator. Failure to adjust and retest
the gate operator properly can increase the risk of injury or death.

5. Use the emergency release only when the gate is not moving.

6. KEEP GATES PROPERLY MAINTAINED. Read the owner’s manual. Have a qualified

service person make repairs to gate hardware.

7. The entrance is for vehicles only. Pedestrians must use separate entrance.

8. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.

“THE WARNING PLACARD SHALL BE INSTALLED, ONE OF EACH SIDE OF THE
GATE WHERE EASY VISIBLE”.

“PUT THE LABEL MARKING IDENTIFICATION PRODUCT ON THE EXTERNAL
ENCLOSURE OF CONTROL, READILY VISIBLE”.

For the MC824H scheduled maintenance must be performed no more than 6 months
or 20.000 manoeuvres after previous maintenance and any regulations of parameters
aren't necessary.

Only for the product: MC824H/V1

• In paragraph 3.1 replace description of “STOP” and “S.C.A.” with the follo-

wing text:
STOP Input for devices which on activation cause immediate shutdown of the ma-

noeuvre in progress, followed by a brief inversion or reset of the status “Hard
Shut Down”.

S.C.A. Gate Open Indicator: output for siren or buzzer

(24 V max 400 mA)

• In Table 5 (paragraph 5.1) replace description of “L8” with the following text:

Function “Gate Open Indicator” or “Siren”
Description Function ACTIVE (factory settings: “Hard shut down” mode): the output

“gate open indicator” (SCA) switches its mode to “Siren” and when the
function “obstacle detection” is triggered twice consecutively without
the automation completing a closing cycle, the S.C.A. output is activated.
(Siren) for approx. 5 minutes. In this operating mode, the control unit ig­nores all commands until the “Reset” pushbutton is pressed, connected
to the STOP input. Subsequently, delivery of a command generates a
slow opening or closing manoeuvre, depending on the command sent,
and on completion, the leafs complete travel when they come into con­tact with the mechanical opening or closing stops (alignment operation).

a) Installer le portail d’entrée uniquement lorsque:

1) L’opérateur est concerné pour la construction du portail et le niveau d’utilisation

du portail,

2) Toutes les ouvertures d’un portail à glissement horizontal sont maintenues ou ins­pectées depuis le bas du portail à 1.22m (4 feet) au-dessus du sol pour éviter le pas­sage d’une sphère de diamètre de 57.2 mm (2-1/4 inch) par les ouvertures n’importe
où dans le portail et dans cette portion de la barrière adjacente que le portail couvre

b) L’opérateur est prévue pour l’installation uniquement sur les portails utilisés pour les

véhicules. Les piétons doivent être équipés d’un accès séparé. L’ouverture d’accès
aux piétons doit être conçue pour favoriser l’usage du passage piétonnier. Situer le
portail de façon à ce que les personnes ne soient pas en contact avec le portail des
véhicules pendant le trajet entier de voyage du portail pour véhicules.

c) Le portail doit être installé dans un lieu de façon à ce qu’il y ait assez d’espace prévu

entre le portail et les structures adjacentes lors de l’ouverture et de la fermeture afin
de réduire le risque de happement. Les portails à portes battantes ne doivent pas
être ouverts dans des espaces d’accès public.

d) Le portail doit être correctement installé et fonctionner librement dans les deux di-

rections avant l’installation du portail d’entrée. Ne pas trop serrer l’embrayage ou la
valve de décompression afin d’éviter d’endommager la porte.

f) Les contrôles destinés à l’activation de l’utilisateur doivent être situés à au moins six

pieds (6’) de toutes pièces amovibles du portail et où l’utilisateur ne peut pas attein­dre les contrôles au-delà, dessous, ou à travers le portail pour les actionner. Les
contrôles externes ou facilement accessibles doivent avoir un dispositif de sécurité
pour empêcher une utilisation non-autorisée.

g) Le bouton Stop et/ou Reset doit être situé en vue du portail. L’activation du contrôle

Reset n’engendre pas le démarrage du portail.

h) Un minimum de deux (2) SIGNAUX D’AVERTISSEMENTS doivent être installés, de

chaque côté du portail où ils seront facilement visibles.

i) Pour les portails d’entrée utilisant un capteur sans contact selon le 31.1.1. :

1) Voir les instructions pour l’emplacement des capteurs sans contact pour chaque

type d’application,

2) Une attention particulière sera effectuée pour réduire le risque de gêne pendant le
déclenchement, comme lorsqu’un véhicule, active le capteur tandis que le portail
est toujours en mouvement, et

3) un ou plusieurs capteurs sans contact doivent être situés où le risque de happe­ment ou d’obstruction existe, tel qu’un périmètre atteignable par un portail ou une

barrière mobile.

AVERTISSEMENT IMPORTANT D’INSTRUCTIONS D’INSTALLATION - Pour ré­duire le risque de blessure sévère ou de mort:

1. LISEZ ET SUIVEZ TOUTES LES INSTRUCTIONS D’INSTALLATIONS.

2. Installez uniquement une porte de garage correctement équilibrée. Une porte de ga-

rage incorrectement équilibrée dispose d’un potentiel pour engendrer de sévères bles-

sures. Une personne de service agréée doit s’occuper des réparations des câbles,

des assemblages de ressorts et autre matériel avant l’installation de l’ouvre-porte.

3. Retirer tous les câbles et retirer ou rendre non opérationnel tous les verrouillages

reliés à la porte du garage avant l’installation de l’ouvre-porte.

4. Installer l’ouvre-porte de porte à 7 pieds ou plus au-dessus du sol où cela est pos-

sible. Pour les produits disposant d’une libération d’urgence, monter la libération

d’urgence 6 pieds au-dessus du sol.

5. Ne pas connecter l’ouvre-porte à la source d’énergie jusqu’à ce que ce soit de-

mandé.

6. Situer le bouton de contrôle: (a) en vue de la porte, (b) à une hauteur minimale de 5

pieds de façon à ce que les petits enfants ne puissent pas l’atteindre, et (c) éloigné

des pièces mobiles de la porte.

7. Installer l’Etiquette d’Avertissement de Happement à côté du bouton de contrôle

dans un endroit bien en vue. Installer le Marquage de Libération d’Urgence. Relier le

marquage sur ou à côté de la libération d’urgence.

8. Après l’installation de l’ouvre-porte, la porte doit s’inverser quand elle entre en

contact avec un objet de 1-1/2 inch (ou 2 à 4 planches mises à plat) sur le sol.

4. NE JAMAIS PASSER SOUS UNE PORTE ARRÊTEE OU PARTIELLEMENT OU-

VERTE.

5. Tester l’ouvre-porte tous les mois. La porte de garage DOIT s’inverser quand elle

entre en contact avec un objet de 1-1/2 inch de hauteur (ou 2 à 4 planches mises à

plat) sur le sol. Après avoir ajusté la force ou la limite de trajet, réessayer l’ouvre-

porte. Un échec lors de l’ajustement correct de l’ouvre-porte augmente les risques

de blessures sévères ou de mort.

6. Pour les produits disposant d’une libération d’urgence, lorsque cela est possible,

utiliser la libération d’urgence seulement lorsque la porte est fermée. Utiliser cette

libération avec précaution lorsque la porte est ouverte. Des ressorts défectueux ou

cassés peuvent augmenter le niveau de fermeture de la porte et augmenter le risque

de blessure sévère ou de mort.

7. MAINTENIR LES PORTES DE GARAGE CORRECTEMENT EQUILIBREES. Voir le

manuel utilisateur. Une porte incorrectement équilibrée augmente le risque de bles-

sure sévère ou de mort. Une personne de service agréée doit s’occuper des répa-

rations des câbles, des assemblages de ressorts et autre matériel.

convenu via la surveillance par un personnel de sécurité”.

contact. Après avoir ajusté la force ou la limite de trajet, réessayer l’ouvre-portail. Un
échec lors de l’ajustement et du réessayage correct du portail d’entrée augmente
les risques de blessures ou de mort.

5. Utiliser la libération d’urgence uniquement lorsque le portail ne se déplace pas.

6. TENIR LE PORTAIL CORRECTEMENT MAINTENU. Lire le manuel utilisateur. Faire

appel à une personne qualifié pour effectuer les réparations du matériel du portail.

7. L’entrée est uniquement pour les véhicules. Les piétons doivent utiliser une entrée
séparée.

8. CONSERVER CES INSTRUCTIONS.

Pour le MC824H, la maintenance programmée doit être effectuée dans moins de 6
mois ou au bout de 20.000 manoeuvres après une précédente maintenance et toutes
régulations des paramètres ne sont pas nécessaires.

Uniquement pour le produit : MC824H/V1

• Dans le paragraphe 3.1 remplacer la description de “STOP” et “S.C.A.” avec

le texte suivant :
STOP Entrée pour les dispositifs sur lesquels une activation provoque immédiatement

l’arrêt de la manoeuvre en cours, suivie par une brève inversion de l’état “Arrêt
ferme”.

S.C.A. Voyant d’Ouverture du Portail: sortie pour la sirène ou le buzzer

(24 V max 400 mA)

• Dans le tableau 5 (paragraphe 5.1) remplacer la description du “L8” avec le

texte suivant :

une livraison de commande provoque une manoeuvre d’ouverture ou de
fermeture lente, selon la commande envoyée, et sur la réalisation, les
feuilles complètent le voyage quand elles rentrent en contact avec les ar­rêts d’ouverture ou de fermeture mécaniques (opération d’alignement).
