boxes of various kinds, a nd their order by connecting these with a rrows. Flowcharts are used in analyzing,
designing, documenting or managing a process or program in various fields.
A typical flowchart from olde r Computer Science textbooks may have the following kinds of symbols:
Start and end symbols Arrows Process ing steps Input /Output Conditional or decision
A number of other symbols that have less universal currency, such as:
A Document represented as a rectangle with a wavy base; A Manual input represented by parallelogram, with the top irregularly sloping up from left to right.
An example would be to signify data-entry from a form;
A parallelogram indicate operation or judgment conditions . Data are represented by a histogram.
Flowcharts may contain other symbols, for example, connector is represented by a circle, which is usually
pointed by some arrows. Among the arrows, only one point outward. Some flowcharts only use one arrow
pointing to another, which represent repeated actions. It is called loop in computer science. For example,

Frequently Question
Installation and User Guide of Board Ideas of Interaction
69
The following lists the frequently asked questions about NHBoard interactive whiteboards and
their answers:
What are the basic devices required by a whiteboard?
Whiteboard (with w a ll mount bracket or floor bracket)
Accessory whiteboa rd pen
Computer
USB cables connecting your computer and the whiteboard
Special software
Projector
Internet access devices if remote interactive control is required
Which type of projectors can be used with NHBoard Interactive
Whiteboard?
The proje ctors meeting the following conditions are applicable:
Front projectors
Projectors supporting computer resolution
Minimum optical power no less than 1500 Lumen, which can be s elected in accordance w ith the size of
a room.
Why is the image projected by the projector in the shape of the
wrong size or distorted and how to adjust it?
If, after orienting, you find that the projected image does not properly fill the screen, or suffers from
distortion or shimmering, the resolution settings of your projector and your computer ma y not match.
It’s very important that the computer and projector resolutions correspond exactly.
Ensure that the projector is set to its optimal ima ge resolution. Refer to your projector’s manual for the
true reso lution o f your projecto r and reset it if necessary. While the projector manual instructions may
indicate that resolutions o ther than the optimal one are permitted, you should not s et the resolution to
any of these other settings.
When the projector is not placed properly, the image projected on the whiteboard ma y turn out to be
a keystone. When the projector is placed front higher or rear higher, a vertical trapezium is projected.
Installation and User Guide of Board Ideas of Interaction
70
When the projector is placed unevenly on both sides, the projector is not in the center in comparison
with the w hiteboard, o r there is an a ngle between the projection dire ction and the horizontal direction
of the whiteboard, a ho rizontal trapez ium of another type is formed.
When the projected image is in the form of a keystone, the image is distorted and thus should be
adjusted.
When a vertical keystone is projected, you can use the special adjustment button or elevate the
projector to make an adjustment (for more information, refer to the projector manuals).
When a ho rizontal keystone is formed, you can adjust the loca tion of the projector to the center of the
whiteboard to achieve front projection.
You must ma ke a few final adjustments to the projector to ensure a focused ima ge that fits within the
interactive w hiteboard frame at the top and bottom, with a margin of a pproximately 3/8" on both the
right and left sides.
NOTE: The 3/8" margin described above is an optimal measure ment. Alignment can vary: in some
instances, the image can fill the entire screen; in others, the margin can be greater than 3/8", but be
perfectly satisfactory as long as it’s even on all sides.
You can fix many proje ctor-related problems right at the projector itself, just by shifting the projector
to the right or left, tilting it or using the zoom lens to sharpen the focus or expand and contract the
image. You can also solve many keystone problems by ra ising or lowering the front or back of the
projector until the sides of the image are parallel to the screen frame .
If words can be input on only certain areas of the whiteboard,
what should I do?
Check whether the type of the whiteboa rd set in the driver program complies w ith that of the
whiteboard in use .
Check whether the whiteboard is correctly located.
Can I use common USB lines on the local market to connect the
whiteboard and a computer?
No. Only special USB cable designed by NANHAO (Beijing) Science and Technology Co., Ltd can be
used to connect the whiteboard and a computer, due to the unique chara cteris tics of data tra nsmitted.
In which cases should I perform Position setting/calibration?
You should perform Position setting/calibration in the following cases:
Installation and User Guide of Board Ideas of Interaction
71
The Interactive whiteboard is installed for the first time.
The relative locations between the projector and the whiteboa rd changed.
The whiteboard driver changed. For example, the driver program is reinstalled or upgraded, and the
computer is upgraded.
When the software start, a prompt "Communication with the
whiteboard failed. Check that the whiteboard is correctly
connected to the computer". In this case, what should I do?
Please insure that the USB cable connected are provided by NANHAO (Beijing) Science and Te chnology
Co., Ltd, and che ck whether the USB cable has been connected properly.
Check whether the Intera ctive whiteboard works normally. (The indicator of the Interactive
Whiteboard can help you to detect, green co lor means youve got an active working status quo, other
wise , please pull out and reconnect the USB cable).
Check whether COM1 to COM4 serial interfaces are used. The whiteboard has to use one of the serial
interfaces.
Uninstall the Driver and restart your computer before reinstall it.
Why certain anchor points cannot be noticed when I locate the
whiteboard?
The image is beyond the projection area due to incorrect horizontal or vertical adjustment of the
projector.
The image displayed is incomplete because the resolution of the computer is not set the same as that
of the proje ctor.
How to transmit data between the whiteboard and the computer
over a long distance?
You can choose the 25-meter-long USB cable which is one of optional accessories provided by NANHAO
(Beijing) Science and Technology Co., Ltd
You can install the special w ireless transmission module developed by NANHAO (Beijing) Science and
Technology Co., Ltd and the validity of transmission distance is from 30 to 100 meters.

How to clean the plane of the whiteboard?
Two types of writing films can be used on the surface of the whiteboard. One type does not support
water whiteboard pen, whereas the other supports. On both types of films, however, writing with oil
pens is prohibited.
In routine cleaning, use clean and damp cloth to s crape the writing film (Note : the damp cloth should
be wrung out to avoid water penetrating inside the whiteboard from the bottom frame).
If an indelible oil color pen is used to write on the writing surface or writing is made on the film that
does not support water whiteboard pens, immediately sip absorbent cotton with ethanol and re -clean
the surface of the whiteboard.
