AgION AntimicrobialTM —
Built-in Protection for
Your Phone
Motorola has inco rporated AgION antimicrobial
into the painted surfaces of your phone to help
provide protection against a broad range of product
damaging bacteria, mold, and mildew.
Motorol a is the first wirel ess phon e manufa cturer to
incorporate AgI ON antimi crobial into the phone's
paint ed surfaces.
The antimicrobial technology is an example of
Motorola's pursuit for innovation and creativity to
produce the best quality wireless experience.

against product damage caused by microbes, but
does not extend such prote c tion to t he user.
Versatile in application, the EPA-registered AgION
additive is reco mmended for instit utional,
commercial and consumer applicat ions. AgION
antimicrobials are used in many settings including
hospitals, off ices, schools and f ood processing
facilities. They can also be found in leading
footwear, fabrics, appliances, water coolers and
architectural hardware.

Benefits of AgIONTM*
• AgION antimicrobial technology helps provide
protecti on aga in st p r od uct d am ag in g bac ter i a on
the painted surfaces of the phone.
• AgION an timi cr o bial is effectiv e in pr otec ti n g the
product against a broad spectru m of bacter ia.
• AgION helps inhibit the ability of microbes to
grow and spread on the pai nted sur faces of the
phone.
• The active ingr edient helps break down
enzyme s in the microbe, inhibiting its ability to
reprod uce an d sprea d on the pain ted sur face s of
the ph one.
• Studies have shown that su rfac e s with AgION
antimicrobial can reduce the amount of ce rtain
product damaging bacteria by 99%.
• The AgION coating will protect the painted
surfaces of the product against product
damagi ng bacter ia for the life of the produc t.
* The antimicrobial technology is applied only to the painted
surfaces of the Motorola iDEN phones, thereby providing
protection against damage to such surfaces caused by microbes,
but does not extend such protection to the end user.
x
Safety
• AgION antimicrobial protection is base d on
silver, a safe, non-toxic additive to the phone
paint. Silver is widely used as an antimicrobial
agent in many en vironments and industries.
• AgION antimicrobial technology is safe to use.
Thorough testing has show n the additive to be
less toxic than table salt and less irritating than
talcum powder.
How It Works
• The technology continuously inhibit s the growth
of product damaging bacteria on the phone's
painted surfaces.The active ingredient helps
break down enzymes in the microbe, inhibiti ng
its abil ity to repr oduc e and spre ad on th e pai nted
surfaces on the phonee.
• The active ingredient in AgION is silver, in the
form of silv er io ns .
Accreditation
• The AgION antimicrobia l compound is
registered wit h the Envi ronment al Protection
Agency (EPA) as a preservative and
bacteriostatic agent for use in the manufacturing
of poly mers and plastics.
• NSF, FDA-listed

Battery Use and Maintenance
• The Motorola iDEN Approved Lithium Ion
chargers provide optimum performance. Other
chargers may not fully charge the iDEN Lithium
Ion battery or may yield a reduced number of
lifetime charge cycles.
• Extreme temperatures degrade ba ttery
performance. Do not store the battery where
temperatures exceed 140°F (60°C) or fall below
4°F (-20°C).
• Lithium Ion batteries ha ve a self discharge rate
and without use, lose about 1% of their charge
per day.
• The battery capacity is degraded if the battery is
stored for long periods while fully charged. If
long term storage is required, store at half
capacity.

create your own groupings of audio files, called
playlists.
When you access the audio player, you see that
the audio files are grouped into these folders:
• Songs — All MP3 audio files on the memory
