Introduction
Professional Stereo Brick Wall Audio Limiter
The Newhank Level One is a small size, easy to use, low cost stereo
limiter. The input control for left and right can be adjusted separately
and the limiting levels is adjusted for left and right together.
Level One is the solution for bars , restaurants and small clubs that
have to deal with (low) level restrictions and don't want to loose the
audio quality, or rental companies that want to protect their equipment
Where most limiters compress or change the sound, Level One is
keeping the sound alive, even at low levels and/or operating full in limit.
After adjustments are set
Level One can be sealed or pad locked.

Environment
Do not p lace the unit in environments which contain h igh levels of dust, heat,
m oisture or vibration.
Do n ot u se t he unit near water or other liquids. Make sure no water or other
l iquids can be spilled, dripped or splashed on the unit.
The unit is developed for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors.
Do not place objects (books, vases, … ) on top of the unit.
Place the unit on a stable base or mount it in a stable rack.
Safety requirements
Only use a grounded socket outlet and a power cord with grounding
plug to plug in the unit.
Always handle the unit with care.

Front panel
The front panel of the Level One contains all the controls and indicators
and mechanical parts to lock the housing
1) CH1 and CH2 input level controls*
2) Green power on indication led
3) M6 screw with 2MM hole
4) Hole for optional Padlock 4 MM
5) CH1 and CH2 combined Limit level adjustment*
6) CH1 and CH2 red indicators are on or flash when limiter is active

Rear panel
At the rear panel of the Level One are all the connections provided.
1) 24 Volts power connector
The included 24 volts power supply (24 volt DC) should be connected to
this connector. Pay attention to the polarity when connecting the power supply.
2) XLR Input connectors
The signal coming from the input device such as an audio source, mixing table,
pre-amplifier should be connected to the 3-pin Female XLR inputs.
3) XLR Output connectors
The output signal is available at these 3-pin Male XLR connectors.
The output signal is the audio signal which is driven through the limiting circuit.
The level of the output signal will always be lower or equal to the selected
limiting level.

This chapter guides you through the setup process of a basic project with one
Level One Limiter, an audio source device (mixing table) and a power amplifier.

2) Adjusting the Limiter
Adjust the limit level until the red led indicator is full (not flashing any more).
Now adjust the desired left and right max input levels
When finished, put the cover back on and seal or pad-lock the device.
