YOUR EYE, ONLINE ALL THE TIME
Technology developments such as Broadband and th e rise of digital have lead to unprecedented demand for netwo rked video solutions.
Networked video is made pos sible through IP cameras, which allow remote viewing or recording of images from a Web browser any where, at any time. IP Cameras use existing IP net work infrastructure, which reduces installation time and costs normally associate d with the implementation of traditional CCTV sur veillance systems.
NetComm is playing a key role in the uptake of n etworked video surveillance as an alternative to traditional Clo sed Circuit Television (CCTV) Systems.
A NetComm IP Camera is like any ot her network device
With its own IP address, a N etComm IP Camera connects directly to a standard network swit ch or to a wireless network. This enables viewing of real time digital video over the Internet f rom any location.
NetComm IP Camera s use existing Network (IP) technology
By using existing IP networ k infrastructure, additional costs related to the installation and deployment of traditi onal analog CCTV surveillance systems (such as coax cabling, monitors and v ideo recorders) are eliminated. The flexibility of NetComm’s IP camera s also makes it economically possible to digitally enable existing analog CC TV systems.
APPLICATIONS
NetComm IP cameras are suitable for a wide range of applications.
Education
Besides capturing acts of vandalism an d theft, high schools and tertiary institu tions are adopting NetComm IP Cameras for innovative new educational applications such as allo wing students access to view science experiments from home via th e internet.
Retail
Retail businesses can install Ne tComm IP cameras to remotely monitor staff, customer activity and custo mer interaction with staff and in-store traf fic flow. To provide a complete retail monitoring solution, Net Comm has also partnered with various sof tware providers to complement the camera range.
Construction
Building companies can effective ly utilise NetComm IP Cameras to remotely monitor site constructi on as well as employee and material movements. Key managers can also visually con firm construction progress without being onsite.
Health
Hospitals can use NetC omm IP Cameras to monitor patients and viewing medical equipment from remote areas in an inst ant. Aged care units can also install NetComm IP C ameras to ensure the safety of the elderly.
Warehousing/Logis tics
Warehouses can monitor loading and dispatch op erations, entrances and exits (including fire exits), shipping and storag e areas, entry points and parking areas. Combining a Net Comm Smart IP Camera with 11g wireless eliminates the need for costly cabling in sites wit h large floor areas such as warehouses and campuses, where the cost of c amera cabling is prohibitive.
NETCOMM IP CAMERA RANGE
NetComm IP Cameras a re designed around a robust camera platform. Under the hood is an ingeniously embedde d web and FTP server with a powerful UNI X-like operating system to ensure guaranteed 24/7 operation in the most demanding of environments.
NetComm IP Cameras a re rich in features and include the following:
• A state of the a rt on-board image processor
• An inbuilt web a nd FTP server
• JP EG and MJPEG video compression
• Real time vide o at maximum resolution (single view)
• Motion de tection capability
• 3 layer password protection for the came ra, providing additional security
• 4 exte rnal inputs and 1 output trigger to attach devices such as mot ion sensors or gate control
• F TP/Email/HTT P notification of alarm and event triggers
• Tensile Aluminium Case for superio r protection against vandals
• Easy sc ript wizard to set up triggered recording and external alarms
• Interchange able lens option to any standard CS mount lens
• Easy N etwork Camera IP Installer tool & quick install guid e
• An ex tensive range of software options for different app lications
HOW CAN I CONNECT TO A NETCOMM IP CAMERA
IP Cameras can be connecte d to the Internet/intranet in a number of ways. Some examples are below.
*Frame rates depend ant on available bandwidth.
LAN (Lo cal Area Network) - frame rate up to full motion vid eo
(30/25 frames /second)
Standard dial-up modem - f rame rate up to 2 frames/second.
xDSL connection - fr ame rate up to full motion video
(30/25 frames /second)
Wireless network adap ter - frame rate up to full motion video
(30/25 frames /second)
