Before you start

Find a good spot

Make sure that the Nest Heat Link is already installed.

Grab the power cable and plug that came with your thermostat.

The Nest Thermostat is designed to stay in one place. Choose where you put it carefully:

• It should be installed so that it can communicate wirelessly with the Heat Link (up to a maximum distance of 30 m). The home’s construction and arrangement will affect the communication range.

• It should be near a socket in a room you use often.

• Make sure that it’s not behind any thing. It should have a clear view of the room.

• Nest Thermostat features like Farsight work best when the Stand is placed 75 cm-1 m from the ﬂoor.

• Keep it away from hot or cold areas, like ﬁreplaces or drafty windows.

Put everything together

Stand Base Display

1 Thread the power cable that came with your

thermostat through the stand so that the small end of the cable comes out in the front.

2 Plug the small end of the cable into the

Nest Thermostat base.

3 Snap the base onto the stand, then secure it with

the provided screws.

4 Press the Nest Thermostat display onto the base

until it clicks.

5 Connect the power plug to the cable, then plug

it into a wall socket.

All done

Time for setup

Your thermostat will turn on, help you connect to Wi-Fi and make sure that it’s within range of the Heat Link.

Moving the stand

Moving it around a bit is ﬁne, but moving the stand across the room can confuse your thermostat. The Nest Thermostat gets used to the temperature and level of activity in one spot and isn’t designed to be moved around.

If you move the stand, your Nest Thermostat may need a week or two to recalibrate Time-to-Temperature and Auto-Away.

Cleaning the stand

Just wipe the stand with a damp cloth.

1. WHAT THIS LIMITE D WARRANT Y COVERS; PER IOD OF COVER AGE

Nest La bs (Europe) Ltd . (“Nest Lab s”) warrant s to the owner o f the enclos ed product t hat the prod uct conta ined in this box (“ Product ”) will be fre e from defe cts in mater ials and workman ship for a per iod of two (2) ye ars from the d ate of deliv ery follo wing the origi nal retail purchas e (the “Warr anty Perio d”). If the Pro duct fails t o conform to t his Limited Wa rranty during the W arranty P eriod, Nes t Labs will, a t its sole dis cretion, ei ther (a) rep air or replac e any defe ctive Prod uct or compo nent; or (b) ac cept the ret urn of the Pro duct and ref und the money ac tually paid b y the original p urchaser f or the Produ ct. Repair o r replacem ent may be made with a n ew or refurb ished prod uct or compo nents, at Ne st Labs’ so le discret ion, to the exten t that this is pe rmitted b y local laws in y our jurisdic tion. If the P roduct or a co mponent incorp orated wit hin it is no longe r available , Nest Labs m ay, at Nest Labs ’ sole discre tion, replac e the Produc t with a simila r product o f similar func tion. Any Pr oduct that h as either been rep aired or rep laced unde r this Limite d Warrant y will be cover ed by the term s of this Limited W arranty f or the longer o f (a) ninety (9 0) days from th e date of deliv ery of the r epaired

Produc t or Replace ment Produ ct, or (b) the re maining Warr anty Peri od. This Limi ted Warrant y is transf erable fro m the origina l purchaser t o subseque nt owners, b ut the Warran ty Period w ill not be exte nded in durat ion or expan ded in covera ge for any suc h transfer.

2. TOTAL SATISFACTION RETURNS POLICY

If you are th e original pur chaser of th e Product an d you are not sat isﬁed with th is Product f or any reas on, you may ret urn it, at your c ost, in its or iginal condi tion, withi n thirty (30) da ys of the origina l purchase an d receive a fu ll refund.

3.WARRAN TY CONDIT IONS; HOW TO GE T SERVICE IF YOU WA NT TO CLAIM UN DER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY

Before m aking a claim un der this Limi ted Warrant y, the owner of th e Product mus t (a) notif y Nest La bs of the inten tion to claim b y visiting ne st.com/eu/su pport duri ng the Warrant y Period and prov iding a descri ption of the al leged failur e, and (b) comply w ith Nest La bs’ returns d elivery instru ctions. Nes t Labs will ha ve no warrant y obligatio ns with resp ect to a retur ned Produc t if it deter mines, at its r easonabl e discretio n after exam ination of the r eturned Pr oduct, tha t the Produc t is an Ineligib le Product (de ﬁned below). Ne st Labs will b ear all cost s of return de livery to the owner a nd will reimbur se standa rd deliver y costs inc urred by the ow ner, except wit h respect to any Ineli gible Produ ct, for which t he owner will be ar all delive ry cost s.

4. WHAT THIS LIMI TED WARRAN TY DOES NO T COVER

This Limi ted Warrant y does not c over the foll owing (collec tively “Ine ligible Pro ducts”): Pr oducts marked as “ sample” or “No t for Sale”, or sold “AS IS ”; or Product s that have be en subject to: (a) modiﬁcations, alterations, tampering, or improper maintenance or repairs; (b) handling, storage, installation, testing or use not in accordance with the user’s guide or other instructions provid ed by Nest La bs; (c) abuse or misu se of the Prod uct; (d) break downs, ﬂuct uations or interruptions in the electricity supply or the telecommunications network; or (e) Acts of God, includin g, but not limi ted to light ning, ﬂood, t ornado, ear thquake or hu rricane. Th is Limited Warrant y does not c over consum able part s, including b atterie s, unless dama ge is due to defec ts in materia ls or workman ship of the Pro duct or sof tware (even i f such consum able part s

or soft ware are pac kaged or sol d with the pro duct). Nest L abs recom mends using o nly authori sed serv ice provid ers for main tenance or re pair. Unauthor ised use of th e Product or soft ware can impa ir the Produc t‘s perf ormance an d may invalidat e this Limite d Warrant y.

5. DISCL AIMER OF WARR ANTIES

EXCEPT A S STATED ABOVE IN THIS LIMI TED WARRANT Y, AND TO THE MAX IMUM EXTEN T PERMITT ED BY APPLICA BLE LAW, NEST L ABS DISCL AIMS ALL EXPR ESS, IMPLIED AND STATUTORY WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS WITH RESPECT TO THE PRODUCT, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WAR RANTIES OF MER CHANTABILIT Y AND FITNES S FOR A PARTICUL AR PURPOSE . TO THE MAXIM UM EXTENT P ERMITTED BY AP PLICABLE L AW, NEST LABS A LSO LIMITS THE D URATION OF ANY A PPLICABLE IMP LIED WARRANT IES OR CONDITIO NS TO THE DURATION O F THIS LIMITED WARR ANTY.

If any cou rt or releva nt authori ty decide s that any of the se limitati ons is unenfo rceable, it s hould be deem ed modiﬁed to the minim um extent ne cessar y to make it enfo rceable. If t his modiﬁca tion is not pos sible, the relevan t provision s hould be deem ed deleted . Any modiﬁca tion or delet ion will not af fect the validit y of the rest o f this Limite d Warranty.
