When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
These instructions are to ensure you use this electric product safely and prevent you and associates from the risk of damage or hazard. Please read and follow carefully all indicated “Warnings” and instructions.
“Warnings”: failure to follow these warnings may result in death or severe injury.
Warnings:
Unplug the cable immediately in a state of
emergency.
Do not place hands underneath the hot
water jet or outlet during the preparation of the beverage (danger of burning).
Always put a cup underneath the outlets
when rinsing the machine.
Ensure electrical plugs are clean and free of
dust. It can cause an electric shock, short circuit or fire.
Unplug the cable when the machine is not in
use to avoid the risk of injury, burn, electric shock, electric leak or fire caused by dielectric degradation.
Do not damage, destroy, remodel, bend, pull
or twist the power plug forcedly. The plug can be damaged and cause fire or electric shock by placing heavy objects on it, taking it apart or modifying it.
Do not handle plug with wet hands.
Plug the machine only into mains voltage of
230 V - 50 Hz.
Do not place coffee box near objects which
could be affected by magnet.
The heating element surface is subject to
residual heat after use.
Advised usage:
Insert the plug in a socket which is properly-
wired. When using an extension cord, do not put many loads on one outlet. It can result in fire caused by abnormal heat. In the event that the plug and cord get hot, stop using the machine immediately (do not use the machine abroad).
Do not unplug the machine by pulling the
cord. It can cause a short circuit. Do not touch the plug with wet hands. It can cause an electric shock.
This appliance is intended to be used in
household only. It is not intended to be used in the following applications, and the guarantee may not apply for:
- staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
- farm houses;
- by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
The manufacturer is not liable for damage
caused by improper use of the machine or failure to comply with the instructions of this manual. Such damages are also not covered by the warranty.
Children shall not play with the machine.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
This machine can be used by children
aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the machine in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved.
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be
made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised by an adult.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be
replaced by a special cord or assembly available from the manufacturer or its service agent.
The appliance must not be immersed.
Do not put anything (hot water, milk, alcohol
etc) other than potable water in the water tank. It can dirty or clog the inside of the machine and cause failure. We recommend the usage of soft water.
Do not use the machine near fire or place it
on hot surfaces (e.g. on top of electric hot plate). It can cause a fire.
Clean machine periodically according to
instructions in chapter «CLEANING».
When cleaning the machine, unplug the
machine and let it cool down. Do not clean the machine while it is still hot. You can burn yourself.
The coffee box is equipped with a permanent
magnet. Avoid placing the coffee box near appliances and objects that can be damaged by magnetism, e.g. credit cards, usb drives and other data devices, video tapes, television and computer monitors with picture tubes, mechanical clocks, hearing aids and loud speakers.
Patients with pacemakers or defibrillators:
Do not hold the coffee box directly over the pacemaker or defibrillator.
Do not wash the power plug or the cord
with water nor leave them in liquid, such as cleanser. It can cause a failure.
Do not leave water in the water tank when
the machine is not used over a long period of time. The water can become contaminated. Use fresh water every time you use the machine.
Do not use the machine when it has a failure,
does not work properly or indicates any possibility of failure.
Do not put too much water in the water tank
as it will spill over the power connector.
Do not put a load on the machine and do
not squeeze the machine in between two shelves. This could lead to damage.
Further instructions:
In some situations the machine requires a
rinsing cycle. Before operating again, put a cup underneath the outlets.
Drawer can only be inserted when the mixing
chamber is inserted and locked.
We recommend the use of NESCAFÉ GOLD,
which has been tested with NESCAFÉ GOLD BLEND Barista system and particularly suits it.
The system is not designed for fine soluble
coffee (like for instance NESCAFÉ Espresso), nor agglomerated soluble coffee powder (like for instance NESCAFÉ Classic), and as well not for R&G coffee. Upon use of those
coffee, the system will be blocked.

Coee powder is adversely aected by high temperatures and humidity. Please store it in a sealed container in a cool and dry location. Also, the coee powder in the coee tank should be used in good time, preferably within one month.

Put a cup in place. Touch and hold the menu icon for the beverage you wish to adjust for 2 seconds.

Resetting initial beverage recipes
Connect the power plug.Check that the power is OFF.Touch and hold the Cappuccino
icon THEN the power button simultaneously.
Release the buttons when all the
icon lights start flashing fast in green.
Machine is now back to factory
settings.
Initial rinsing must be performed
(see page 5).
After changing the setting...
• Once you have changed the setting, the new amount of hot water will be used as the standard amount when you make the next coee. (The new amount of hot water is not reset when you turn o the power.)
• When a small cup is used, the cof­fee may overflow the cup if you set the amount of hot water too high.
• To adjust to a new amount of hot water, repeat the above procedure (the current setting will be over­written).

Press down the blue lock handle.

Press the slider cover inwards from the both sides and pull it out. Some­times the residue hardens, making it a little bit dicult to remove.
Release the lock under the mixing chamber.

Rinse drawer and slider cover under hot water. Wipe with a soft damp cloth.
Soak mixing chamber in hot water for at least 2 minutes. If coee is still adhered, scrape it o gently.

Check that the lock handle is down. Remove the mixing chamber.

Check orientation of the mesh (the mesh has a top and a bottom side).

Align arrows on slider cover and main body. Press the slider cover in until you hear a “Click”.
Make sure that step 11 has been correctly followed. Push mixing chamber into the main body. Ensure it is fully inserted.

Slide drawer in until you feel the “Click”.

Check the holes inside the mixing chamber: If the holes are blocked with coee, rinse again with hot water.

If you don’t descale your machine according to the following recommendations issues and even break down could happen. We recommend to descale your machine depending on water hardness and consumption but at least twice a year (see table below).

will stop at the maximum level!
