Congratulations on purchasing the NEC MobilePro
Professional PC Companion powered by the Microsoft
Windows® CE, Handheld PC Professional Edition software.
This document contains important information and helpful
tips for maximizing the use of your MobilePro system. Be
sure to read the contents of this document before using your
MobilePro.
Windows CE Services 2.2
For additional information and tips about using Windows CE
Services 2.2, be sure to review the readme.doc fi le on t he
Windows CE Services CD that ships with your NEC
MobilePro.
NEC Bonus Software CD
Your NEC Mo b ilePro ships with a Bonus Software CD
containing a variety of third-party softwar e applications. This
section cont ains use ful information about the inst allation and
support of some of the Bonus Software CD applications.

ImageExpert™ CE
When installing ImageExpert CE to your NEC MobilePro, be
sure to launch the application on your MobilePro device to
complete the installation process and to establish the cor r ect
file associat ions. I f you do not launch the app lication
immediately after installation, you may be unable to access
your pre-existing graphic files.

Puma Intellisync® for Act and Organizer
Please note the following:
The version of Puma Intellisync provided on the Bonus
CD supports
ACT! 3.0.6 and 3.0.7.
Lotus Organizer 2.1, 2.12, and Organizer 97.
Afte r install ing Puma Intellisync , disconn e ct, then
reconnect your P C Connect (seria l) cable t o r esynchro nize
with your host system.
To uninst all Puma Intellisync from your M obile Pro unit:
First, remove t he app lication from your host system.
Next, us e the r emove pro grams function in the
Windows CE Control Panel to remove the application
from your MobilePro.
JETCET™ Print
When using JETCET Print to print a color document, be sure
to change the default color palette setting. To change the
setting, tap Start, Settings, Control Panel, and double tap the
MobilePro Sett ings icon. Select the Color Palette tab, and use
the dropdown box to change the default 64K setting to 256
colors.
JETCET™ PowerPoint Companion
When installing JETCET PowerPoint from the NEC Bonus
Software CD you may observe a message similar to the
following:
“Confirm File Replace — Would you like to replace the existing file
\windows\???.htp modified on 10/12/98 10:09 with this one
modified on 10/03/98 16:14?”

If you obser ve t h is messag e, please note the file dates. We
recommend that you never overwrite a newer file with an
older file. Eve n if this messag e appears, the installa tion will
complete success fully.
BSQUARE® bFAX® Express
Please note the following about BSQUARE bFAX Express.
BSQUARE bFAX Express supports attached images
containing 256 colors, or less.
Before using BSQUARE bFAX Express to send a fax, you
must modify two default settings. Follow t hese steps to
modify the default settings.
1. After installing BSQUARE bFAX Express, double
tap the desktop icon to launch the application.
2. Tap the Configure box on the right side of the screen.
3. Use the dropdown box in the Modem to Use field and
set to Mo de m on COM4.
4. Use the dro pdown box in the Maximum Rate fie ld
and set to 14400.
5. Tap OK and you are ready to use BSQUARE bFAX
to se nd a fa x tra nsmiss ion.
