Display knowledge.
1024 Calibrated Shades of Gray
Display resolution is limited by two main factors: first, the ability of the operating system and software to deliver more than 256 shades of gray per pixel, and second, the hardware limitations of the LCD display itself. Dome’s DA
4
interface board technology is designed to overcome these limitations and display a full 1024 calibrated gray shades on the panel.
Automatic DICOM Calibration
Dome developed the industry’s first internal automatic calibration system, and continues to lead with intervention-free DICOM conformance. Every Dome CX and EX display is precision-characterized at the factory, storing critical LCD parameters in the display’s internal memory. This data, in conjunction with the display’s integrated RightLight™ photometer monitoring backlight luminance, is used by Dome’s CXtra™ software to automatically and continuously perform DICOM correction as needed – ensuring continuous DICOM conformance. The end result: Dome displays come DICOM calibrated right out of the box – and stay calibrated for life.

Critical LCD panel parameters are measured from the center of the screen, as per AAPM TG18 and DIN standards. RightLight™ monitors the active area at the center of the display, an area up to 30 times larger than front-edge sensors. The result: Outstanding DICOM accuracy.
High-Bright Technology
Dome EX color displays feature high-bright technology, providing high-brightness, high-contrast images – ideal for both diagnostic grayscale and color medical image viewing. Significantly brighter than standard color displays, Dome EX color displays provide quality DICOM grayscale and color viewing in any lighting condition.

Factory Characterization of Dome Displays
Our technical advances address your needs for exceptional performance, reliability, and image quality, as well as support for next-generation technologies.
Optimized Image Data Transfer
Select Dome EX displays are equipped with dual-link DVI enabling you to display up to 60 full frames a second (60Hz refresh rate) using select commercial controllers. When using the DX2 high-speed grayscale controller, Dome’s pixel packing technology greatly increases DVI bandwidth efficiency to provide up to 60 frames per second. The end result: High resolution grayscale images are refreshed on screen much faster making image overlays and window leveling operations much smoother, greatly reducing eye strain and fatigue.
