Installation
The 510W short range wireless POS
terminals requires the installation of a
010 Wireless Base Station. The
base station can handle multiple POS
terminals. Larger locations may require
optional wireless signal repeaters to ensure
there is sufficient radio coverage in the
location.
A- 510W POS
Terminal
Carefully preserve the packaging of the
terminal. It must be re-used whenever the
terminal is shipped.
THE 510W PACKAGING
CONTAINS:
• The terminal itself, equipped with its
paper roll.
• Detachable power supply unit. (The
power supply unit delivered with your
terminal is specially designed for it. Do
not use any other power supply.) The use
of a power supply having apparently
similar voltage/current characteristics
may, in spite of this, damage your
terminal.
• Battery.
• Installation Guide.
• Optional charging Base.
To power down the
• Disconnect the power supply block
from the electric power supply
network.
• Press and hold the key until
the display shuts off.
510W:
CHARGING THE 510W:
Select an electrical socket that complies with
the general safety instructions as outlined in
“Safety Instructions.”
Connecting the Power Supply to the
Optional Charging Base
• Insert the small
connecter on the
power supply
cable into the
socket at the
back of the
optional charging
base.
• To charge the terminal, gently place the
terminal on to the charging base.
Connecting the Power Supply directly to
the 510W
• Insert the small
connector on
the power
supply cable
with the
triangle facing
up, in to the
centre socket
on the back of the 510W
terminal
• The terminal will automatically power on
and start to charge.
To decrease the charging time, the terminal
may be powered off by pressing the
key until the display shuts off.
INSTALLING A ROLL OF PAPER
• Depress the
printer door
release
button (see
arrow) to
disengage
the paper
door from the terminal.
• Tilt the paper door towards the rear of
the terminal.
• Remove and discard the empty paper
roll.
• Verify that the roller is intact and
securely attached to the paper door.
• Install the paper
roll (thermally
coated side
exposed when
viewed from top)
into the
compartment.
The thermally sensitive side will create
black marks when it is scratched.
• Tilt the paper door towards the front of
the terminal until resistance is felt.
• Press down on both corners of the paper
door until it clicks into position.
The 510W terminal is now ready
for use.

010 Base Station
/ Repeater
The 010 Packaging contains:
• The wireless Base Station / Repeater
itself
•
Wireless antenna
•
Detachable power supply unit. (The
power supply unit is specially designed
for it. Do not use any other power
supply.)
Connecting the 010 to the
Internet
The merchant is responsible for providing an
Internet connection with DHCP capabilities.
Connect an Ethernet cable from merchant
supplied device to the port marked
WAN/LAN on the 010 base station.
Note: In large locations, an optional
repeater may be required. The wireless
repeater does NOT require an Internet
connection.

C-Associating the Terminal
to the Base Station
Setting up the Network
The network must be setup before
initializing the terminal.
1. Go to the Service menu option
2. Select the WLAN Configuration menu
option
3. Select Setup New Network
4. Make sure all base stations and
repeaters are unplugged.
5. Enter the terminal ID (pressing the
button labelled with the
character/number will bring up a screen
for the input selection/confirmation).
6. Follow the instructions on the terminal.
Verifying the ESSID of the Base Station
To verify the terminal is connecting to a
base station:
1. Go to the Service menu option
2. Select the WLAN Configuration menu
option
3. Select WLAN Survey
4. The Base Station ESSID, the MAC
address and the signal strength of the
terminal will be displayed.
Resetting the Base Station
There is a small Reset button located on the
back of the Base Station.
1. To reset the Base Station without
changing the existing ESSID:
While the Base Station is powered on,
pressing down the reset button and then
release it.
2. To reset the Base Station to the default
ESSID:
While the Base Station is powered on,
pressing down the reset button and hold the
press for 10 seconds and then release it.
Resetting the Terminal’s WLAN
Configuration
1. Go to the Service menu option
2. Select the WLAN Configuration menu
option
3. Select Reset Terminal WLAN Config.
4. Follow the instructions on the terminal.
This will reset the terminal WLAN
configuration to its factory default setting.
