Overview
Aproperlyoperatingaftertreatmentsystemrequireslittlemanualinterventionfromtheoperator.Illuminated
warninglampsmayindicateadrivingorextendedidleoperationthatmaynotallowsuccessfulregeneration
oftheaftertreatmentsystem.Theseilluminatedwarninglampsmayalsoindicateanenginemechanicalor
performanceconcern.

•EngineOil:Parkvehicleonlevelgroundandcheckoillevel.
•EngineCoolantLevel:Checkcoolantlevelthatisindicatedon
deaerationtank.
•IntakeAir:Inspectairltergauge,locatedonairlterhousingor
dashboard.
•ElectricalSystem:Inspectbatteriesandelectricalsystem(engineand
vehicle)forpoororlooseconnections,corrodedterminals,orbroken
anddamagedwires.
•ExhaustSystem:CheckAftertreatmentandexhaustsystemfor
damage,excessivecorrosion,orleaks.
•Fuellevel:Checkinstrumentpanelfuelgauge,lookintofueltanksto
verifyfuellevel,andmakesurefuellevelsareequalinbothtanks.
•FuelqualityObtainafuelsample,andcheckforwater,waxing,icing,
sediment,gasoline,DieselExhaustFluid(DEF),orkerosene.
•Fuellineroutingandcondition:WithengineOFF ,visuallyinspect
theconditionandroutingoffuellines.
