PRO DUCT DESCRIPTION
Our DTD Decadic to Tone Dialler is designed to allow existing Pulse Dial only
devices to work with PSTN Telephone Lines or with New Generation IP Fiber or
Cable Lines, which provide Analog outputs for use by conventional Analog
Telephone Devices.
INCOMING CALLS
DTD has a TELEPHONE LINE IN Port and a TELEPHONE LINE OUT port.
Both ports use the standard RJ11/12 (6 pin) telephone socket.
On detection of INCOMING RING on the TELEPHONE LINE IN Port, DTD will
immediately connect the Incoming Call to all Attached Telephone Devices.
When an Attached Device goes ‘Off Hook’ to Pulse Dial (Decadic Dial), DTD will
block the pulses from reaching the PSTN Telephone Exchange or the IP Network
Termination Device (NTD) and it will then decode the Numbers Dialled from the
Attached Device and Transmit the corresponding DTMF digits instead to the PSTN
telephone Exchange or the NBN Network Termination Device (NTD).
Should a Modern DTMF Dialling Device also be connected to DTD, the DTMF
digits will be allowed to transparently pass through direct to the PSTN telephone
Exchange or the NBN Network Termination Device (NTD)
This will allow an Older Pulse Dialling device to operate with NBN or a modern
PSTN Telephone Exchange.
DTD is powered with a supplied 12VDC Power Adaptor, or a 12VDC Battery
Backup device can be used instead. Input polarity to DTD does not matter.
