What‘s Bluetooth
®
technology?
Bluetooth® is a communication protocol based on RF technology that enables voice and data between devices via a secure radio frequency link and globa ll y free (2.4 GH z). Devices that im plement it can c omm unicate w ith them when are within reach. Com munication takes place so that the d evices do not have to be aligned an d may even be in separate rooms if the transmission power allows.
BlueNAC-3000® uses this technology to establish intercommunication between two identical devices,
configured as Pilot and Copilot, reaching up to 30 m. Another device called BlueNAC-3000 RADIOLINK, extends the system capabilities to allowing radio
communication, also wireless.

INSTALATION AND FIXI NG SYSTEM (SEE ANNEX I)
The intercom system BlueNAC-3000 consists of: an intercom device, a set of micro-headphones with two types of microphones and a USB charger.
It is designed to be installed on the left side of a helmet , chin strap or flip open, using for fixing a system called Dual Lock ™, with VHB adhesive, from 3M.
The micro-headset has a connector specifically designed to waterproof the junction with the intercom and two types of microphones: A flexible arm for open helmet or chin flip-side, and other to use in integral helmets.
Fixing to the Helmet
This is done by an adhesive s ystem in the left area, in a position that is com fortable for further managem ent with the fingers. Make s ure the area is clear of dirt or moistur e. The system used is the closure a dhes ive Du al Lock ™, with VH B adhesive, of 3M: A lightweight solution, clean an d safe. The result is excellent c lamping force to replace the conventional closure methods ( mechanical) in many applications. T he long duration of closures 3M Dual Lock ™ allows for hundreds of open-close o perations. T he system works like an adv anced Velcro, we must pr ess closure strips unt il you hear a c lick that tells us t hat it is properl y attached. Once se t, the adhesive bond will reach its maximum at 24 or 48 hours.

Fixing Earphones
Velcro can be easily pasted into the speakers inside the helmet . I n the helmets where the inner liner is foam , perhaps no need to use the adhesive, since the Velcro is usually set directly. Be sure to adjust the height position of the ear at the same height on each side. If pasted at different heights or offset, this will cause the sound to appreciate unbalanced or lower than usual. In one of the speakers, the cable is longer to ensure it reaches the far side of BlueNAC-3000. T his should be the right ear (because we will f ix the BlueNAC-3000 on the left side of the helmet). The cable must be passed by the rear of the helmet, between the cork and the casing, avoiding damage to the cable. In some helmets a flap on the back can easily disguise the cable.
Fixing Microphone
The BlueNAC-3000 incorporates two different mounting systems microphone, depending on whether the helmet is complete, open, or chin flip (modular).
In the case of open helmet, mic incorporates a flexible tube that attaches to the outer helmet with a Velcro on the opposite side BlueNAC-3000 (right), or can be placed between the internal padding and the housing of the helmet to make it fully integrated. Be sure to measure the distance to the mouth before setting the microphone to the helmet . The cable will pass the sam e way that the right speaker for the rear of the helmet, between the cork and the housing.
In the case of integral helmet you should use the microphone without tube, fixed inside of the chin right in front of the mouth. It is advisable to check the exact point of attachment prior to installation and with the helmet on. You mus t then insert the cable between the foam from the BlueNAC-3000 to the microphone, trying to stay hidden. In case you cannot insert the wire between the cork and the housing for design reasons of the helmet, small strips adhesive for attaching the cable inside the helmet are included.
[!] Attention: Remember set the BlueNAC-3000 to the left side of t he helmet, which is the natural
way for handling with the opposite hand on the throttle of the bike. Take references of suitable areas to set all the components before starting the installation.
MATCH BlueNAC-3000 EACH OTHER
This action will only necessary if you want to match two BlueNAC-3000 devices that were not purchased together or if we want to combine them with a module BlueNAC3000 Radio-Link. To perform this action cor rectly, we must f irst make sure that both d evices correspond t o a Pilot and Copil ot respectively.
This is very easy to kno w, because when you turn on any of them, you’ll hear a synthesized voice tells us “PILOT” or “COPILOT” according t o the pre vious s ettings . Or either visual ly whi le switch-on during 4 seconds , the blue LED blinks in Pilot device, whereas red LED blinks if that is Copilot.
Once we verified that, we must turn off both devices and proceed as follows:
Turn on each device again holding d own ON/OFF ke y at least 8 seconds, instead of 3 sec onds, until the LEDs start blink alternately.
If you are pairing 2 Headsets or 2 Intercom-motorbike, you must wait at least 2 minutes until it finishes. If it is completed successfully, both devices will restart and the blue LED will blink every second.
If you are pairing Hea dsets or Intercom-motorbike with a B lueNAC3000 Radio-Link, this procedure should be applied to the 3 devices and pr o bab l y will f inish faster. Eventually all devic es will res tar t an d the blue LED will blink every second.
In the case this procedure does not successfully completed, repeat full procedure again.

PAIRING/SYNC A DEVICE WITH Bl ueNAC-3000
General considerations on the priority
BlueNAC-3000 can be sync hronized wit h another B luetooth
®
device with diff erent functiona lity: m obile phon e, GPS, etc. In base o n the type of d evice, BlueNAC-3000 assigns the priorit y (e.g., the phone has priorit y over the intercom between two BlueNAC-3000). This means that, if we received and accepted a phone call, communication with another device BlueNAC-3000 will be temporarily suspended, and will be restored automatically at the end of the call (it may take a few seconds).
To make this procedure, the BlueNAC-3000 must be on and the device to synchronize must be also its Bluetooth function enabled.
Press and hold “phone key” or HF “Hands Free key” ” on BlueNAC-3000 for about 3 seconds until de LEDs blinking alternately. This activates the “visible mode” of BlueNAC-3000 so that another device can locate it and synchronize. This synchronization takes 60 seconds approx imately, during which you can link your device to BlueNAC-3000. In this time interval should activate the search mode or sync your mobile phone or Bluetooth device, depending on the make and model. Consult the owner’s manual to learn this procedure.
After few seconds, your device will d isplay “BlueNAC-3000 PILOT” or “BlueN AC-3000 COPILOT ” depending upon configuration.
To connect both devices you´ll m ust enter the code “8888”. Your device will conf irm that the synchronizatio n process has completed successfully. If we also ask, “Do you want to enable autom atic reconnection?” we recommend you choose “ YES” to a vo id ha v ing t o sele c t the dev ice manually each time you shut do wn or los e coverage. At this time your Bluetooth mobile phone or device will be associated with BlueNAC-3000.
In general, BlueNac-3000 can be used with any phone or GPS Navigator Blueto oth which allows headset or hands-free profiles. If you link your phone to BlueNAC-3000, this will exclude the possibility of connecting another device simultaneously. Although you can onl y c onnec t with on e at s ame time, you can register up to 5 different devices by repeating the above procedure.
Once all Bluetooth de vices are registered, t he first which is fou nd will be assoc iated with BlueNAC-3000. To connect another device of prior partners must turn off or disconnect the Bluetooth device before.
If the device does not con nect automatically, you can f orce the association making a shor t push on the key “phone” of BlueNAC-3000. T his starts the sequence of sync with the l ist of the 5 previously associated devices...
[!] Attention: T he pairing process of Bluetooth devic es (Red and Blue LEDs flashing alternat ely) may take
about one minute. If no devic es are found during that time, the BlueNAC-3000 returns to normal mode. Is important bear in mind, the devices must be in pairing mode at same time.
Reconnect the BlueNAC-3000 to Bluetooth
®
devices
If there is a connection f ailure between both devic es (ex. if a device is switched off, or unreachable) , will be not necessary to repeat the s ynchronization process. Simply turn on the d evice or be approaching to enter coverage. If the connection is not autom atically restor ed, please sel ect m anually in your Bluet ooth device (e x. mobile phone, GPS, etc.) the BlueNAC-3000 (PILOT or COPILOT) to restored the connection.
SOUND AND VOLUME ADJUSTMENTS
BlueNAC-3000 uses a DSP (Digital Signal Processor) for digital processing of sound, with powerful noise cancellation software called CVC (Clear Voice Capture) that guarantees excellent noise reduction and echo.
Also we can monitor your own voice ( SIDETONE), avoiding th e tendency to raise his voice to speak due to the presence of noise. T his is a more natural and comf ortable communication and offers t he advantage of being able to check the so und qual ity during comm unications. W e rec ommend that th e volum e of the m onito r (SIDETONE) is alwa ys much lower than the total vol ume we hear the Co-pilot or vice versa. Otherwise you will have the sensation of being unable to speak normally because they hear their own voice for a few milliseconds of delay due to digital processing to remove noise.
Page 8

The volume keys in BlueNAC-3000 control, by default, the listening volume of active communication (intercommunication with o ther BlueNAC-3000, phone c all in progress, etc.). In addition, you can als o adjust other settings in the menu mode volume as the volume of monitoring or tones. (See Settings in SETUP mode)
USE OF TWO BLUENAC-3000 DEVICES
To use the intercom mode, make sure both units are switching-on and pairing. The Intercom function is
disabled when there is an incoming cal l or when you have connected a GP S navigator which gives some instruction. The intercom mode was re-activated as soon as the call or instruction ends.
[!] Attention: Some mobile phones cut of f calls after a few seconds , which means that the Intercom function
may not be available immediately. The Intercom function is activated by voice (VOX). To start a conversation with the intercom, simply start
talking. The communication is active for as long as you are talking. If no conversation, the function is deactivated after 5 seconds. To reactive, simply speak.
After 30 seconds of inactivity, the intercom passes to sleep mode to save power, you hear a beep characteristic, blue led blink once per second instead two flashes every second.
[!] Attention: When using the intercom function after a period of inactivity, the first time you activate the
communication will s tart w ith a sm all d ela y becaus e the de vices are in s lee p funct ion to s ave power and m ust be reactivated. You will k now that its happens becau se in the sleep state blue LED b link once every second and when reactive th e audio c onnectio n you hear a faint be ep charac teristic an d the b lue LED w ill flash twice every second.
For this reason, it is pos sible that the first word is cu t or you don’t heard it, so it is rec ommended to start a conversation with a blow or an "OOH", "YES ", "HELLO" or a short expression to all ow intercom f unction was activated. After this, communication will start automatically.
Two BlueNAC-3000 un its can communicate to a distance up 50 m eters. Therefore, they are appropriate for communication Pilot-Copilot, although you can use them to communication at distance not exceeding 30 meters. The maximun range depends on the environment where they are used.
USING THE MOBILE PHONE FUNCTION
To use a mobile phone , make sure that the t wo units are switch-on and s ynchronized properl y following the process described in the PAIRING/SYNC section.
[!] Attention: Calls are always private and have high priority, which means that the intercom function is
temporally disabled w hi le ther e is an incoming call an d is res tor e d when t he c a ll ends or if you deci de t o r ej ec t it.
Answering a call
When you hear the dial tone, press the “phone key” or HF “Hands Free key” and begin speaking.
Rejecting a call
If you don’t want to responding, you can let the phone ring or press the ON/OFF at once (you will hear a confirmation tone).
Make a call
There are several ways to make a call.
From the keypad from your mobile phone: Making a normal call from your phone (You shouldn't do this
action in a moving vehicle)
For voice command briefl y press the “Phone k ey ”. If your phone sup ports voic e call system , briefly hear
the synthesized voice “S PEAK NOW” and then a sign al to ind icate when you sh ould s a y the cont act’s nam e you want to call. The c orrect operation of this func tion depends on the type of helm et used (open-face or integral) and the speed at whic h it is moving. We suggest you perform a few tests to determine the best settings.

There are several ways to end a call:
Wait for the other person hang up.
Briefly press once the ON/OFF key (you hear a confirmation tone)
Press the “END key” on your mobile phone (You shouldn't do this action in a moving vehicle)
USE OF BLUETOOTH GPS NAVIGATOR
To use the functions of a GPS, make sur e both units are stwich-on and synchronized prop erly, following th e process described in the “PAIRING/SYNC” section.
[!] Attention: Communicating with a GPS has high priority, which means that, while you hear the GPS
instructions, intercom munication is temporarily disabled. O nce the GPS communication end, the inter com is automatically restored.
Play voice commands on your Navigator
These traffic instruct ions are transmitted cutting temporaril y the intercommunication. Once transm ited these instructions, BlueNAC-3000 automatically restart the intercom mode.
Listen music from your Navigator
Most modern Navigators allow lis ten music while not transmit any information. In this c ase, communication with the Navigator is continuous thus preventing intercommunication.
Using a mobile phone with a Navigator
If you have synchronized your Navigator with a BlueNAC-3000, you cannot connect directly your mobile phone to BlueNAC-300 0, but instead this, you can connect the phon e using the Navigator . By doing that, all the phone functions are c o ntr ol led f rom the Navigator. For m or e inf ormation on how to s ynchr onize th e mobile phone with a Navigator, read the Navigator user manual.
