NUMATIC - HZD 750WD
Wet/Dry Hazardous Dust Vacuum
NOTE: As with all electrical equipment, care and attention must be exercised at all
times during its use, in addition to ensuring that routine and preventative maintenance is
carried out periodically in order to ensure its safe operation. In particular the electrical
supply cable and flexible hose should be regularly inspected by a competent person
and immediate action taken to rectify any faults found. Failure to carry out maintenance
as necessary, including replacement of parts to the correct standard, could render the
equipment unsafe and the manufacturer can accept no responsibility in this respect.

MACHINE COMPONENTS
Powerhead
The 2 bypass vacuum motors are housed within the Structofoam powerhead. To start
the vacuum motors simply activate this switch. The head cannot be removed from the
HEPA filter module under normal circumstances as the 2 steel toggles on the side of the
module are secured with cotter pins.
HEPA Filter Module
The HEPA filter itself is located within the yellow steel chamber mounted to the
powerhead. The purpose of the steel module is to protect the HEPA filter from
tampering
The HEPA filter is capable of filtration to 99.97% even if the intake of the machine is
completely blocked.
The code for the replacement filter is NVM 25B. Replacement of the HEPA filter must
be carried out by qualified personnel.

ry
er Assembly
The HZD 750 W/D is equipped with a combination wet & dry main filter assembly. This
consists of a black wet shut-off assembly with a ball float on top of which is a secondary
white Permatex 0.5 micron nylon filter on which is placed a steel filter grid The purpose
of the filter grid is to keep the white Permatex material clear of the air inlet underneath
the HEPA module. Do NOT use the machine without the filter grid in place as this may
cause overheating.
If the machine is to be used in a wet application, it is essential that the secondary dry
Permatex filter be used as a dry barrier between the wet filter assembly & the HEPA
module. If this is not done, the working life of the HEPA filter will be drastically reduced
and its filtering capability will be compromised.
The wet filter assembly float ball rises up when fluid levels reach the maximum capacity
of the vacuum tank. When this occurs, the pitch of the vacuum motors increases
indicating that the vacuum should be turned off and the container emptied.
Spare Dry Filter - NVM 16B
The HZD 750 W/D is provided with a primary white Permatex dry filter assembly. This
is part of the standard BB20 kit. This dry filter can be used when the machine is to be
used for a dry only application. In that case, the above mentioned wet/dry filter
assembly should be removed completely and the primary dry filter put in its place.
Optional Microtex Filter - NVM 10C
As an optional accessory for DRY USE ONLY the HZD 750 W/D may be fitted with a
Microtex filter. When this filter is used it must always be used with the primary
Permatex filter as a pre-filter. It is nesessary to remove the black filter grid from the
Permatex filter and place it inside the yellow Microtex filter.
The Microtex filter is capable of filtration efficiency of over 99% at .3 microns. This filter
will prolong the life of the HEPA filter.
Vacuum Tank
The recovery tank of the HZD 750 W/D is made of galvanized steel and coated with a
yellow epoxy powdercoat paint finish to help prevent corrosion To empty debris, simply
remove the powerhead and filters and then release the steel toggle at the rear of the
machine. This allows the tank drum to be removed from the cart. The drum is
equipped with carrying handles on the side to facilitate lifting.
After wet use it is recommended to allow the drum to dry out before storage.
For handling and disposal of hazardous debris, always be sure to comply with
local regulations.

ransport Chassis
The HZD 750 W/D machine is supported by a 4-wheeled stainless steel chassis. This
will carry the full weight of the machine and recovered debris. The front of the chassis
has a horizontal bar with two punched holes in it. This is to allow wide area wet or dry
cleaning kits to be fitted to the machine.
Accessories
This machine can be used with of all standard 1 1/2" and 2" Numatic accessories. It is
NOT recommended to use any of the 1 1/4" accessories as this substantially reduces
the airflow performance of the machine.
WARNINGS
If used for any potentially hazardous or health endangering material recovery, do not
use the machine unless the full filtration system is fitted. Failure to fit the complete
system may cause premature clogging of the HEPA filter cartridge and may also
endanger health.
Do not use the machine in corrosive or flammable environments.
Do not use this machine for the collection of explosive dusts.
When operating the machine in contaminated environment, always use protective
respiratory equipment and suitable approved personal protective clothing.
IMPORTANT
This machine may be equipped to handle hazardous dusts. This is only possible if fitted
with a HEPA filter module. Always take caution when emptying the machine as the dust
found in the container may be hazardous to your health.
If the machine will not run, check that the it is switched on and that power is available. If
the machine stops in use and restarts after a time, the high temperature cut-off device
may be activated. This may be indicative of blocked main filters, a blocked HEPA filter
or blocked hoses.
Servicing
Any servicing required should be carried out by qualified personnel.
Do not attempt to clean the microfilter cartridge. If it becomes excessively clogged, fit a
new unit. Take care when fitting the new cartridge not to handle or rupture the paper
element as this will affect the filtration efficiency of the machine. Care should also be
used in disposing of the old cartridge.
Always use genuine Numatic parts for any repairs required.
