DISPOSAL INFORMATION
• PACKAGING
The box and packaging material are designed to protect the appliance during shipping and are biodegradable and recyclable. Please dispose of these items as you would any other recyclable products.
• USED VACUUM CLEANER
The symbols of the materials used for production of parts and accessories and, as well, symbols for recycling are indicated on the parts themselves, where space permits. Old vacuum cleaners may contain materials that can be reused or recycled.
• The symbol on the product or on its packaging indicates
that this product may not be treated as household waste. Instead it shall be handed over to the applicable collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equip­ment. By ensuring this product is disposed of correctly, you will help prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health, which could otherwise be caused by inappropriate waste handling of this pro­duct. For more detailed information about recycling of this product, please contact your local city office, your house­hold disposal service or the shop where you purchased the product.

WARNING:
TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK OR INJURY:
• Check the voltage rating of the vacuum cleaner before connecting the power cord to
an electrical outlet; your power source should correspond with the voltage rating plate located on the underside of your cleaner. If you are not sure of your home’s voltage supply, consult a qualified electrician.
• A damaged vacuum cleaner can be dangerous; check the packaging, the vacuum cleaner and the accessories for any sign of damage. Do not use a damaged appliance.
• Do not leave the vacuum plugged in. Unplug from the outlet when not in use and before servicing or cleaning.
• Your model is a dry unit, do not use outdoors, on wet surfaces or to vacuum any sort of liquid. Only dry surfaces should be vacuumed. Do not use this appliance to pick up liquids as this could impair the electrical safety of the vacuum cleaner. This applies to freshly shampooed carpets: wait until they are dry.
• Do not allow the vacuum cleaner to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children.
• Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer’s recommended attach­ments.
• Connect to a properly grounded outlet only. See Grounding Instructions.
• If the power cord reel or the cable itself are damaged they should be replaced only by
an authorised after sale service. Never use the cleaner with a damaged cord or plug.
• If the appliance is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdo­ors or immersed in water bring the unit to a dealer or to an after sale centre.
• For any repair or for purchase of accessory parts contact only your private dealer or
an authorised technical centre. Do not attempt any repairs.
• Do not pull or carry by the cord, use the cord as an handle, close a door on the cord,
or pull the cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run the appliance over the cord. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
• Do not unplug by pulling the cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord. Do not handle the plug or the appliance itself with wet hands.
• If your appliance is equipped with a cord reel always hold the plug when rewinding

onto the cord reel. Do not allow the plug to whip while rewinding.
• Floor attachments accessories and wands must not be used at head level to avoid injury to eyes and ears.
• Always keep hair, clothing, jewellery, ngers and all parts of the body away from openings
and moving parts.
• Always put the switch into the OFF position after use.
• Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
• When using this appliance with an accessory always unplug before connecting any
rotating brush. In any case never touch the rotating brush while in use.
• Do not run the vacuum cleaner over the mains cable or any extension cable.
• Avoid picking up sharp objects.
• Always turn off the appliance before connecting or disconnecting the hose.
• The mains plug and the power socket must not come in contact with
water. These items may only be cleaned with a dry cloth, no moisture must touch them. Danger of electric shock.
• Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or
hot ashes.
• Never use to pick up ammable or combustible liquids,such as gasoline, or use in
areas where fumes may be present.
• Do not put any objects into the openings. Never use with opening blocked, keep free of dust, lint, hair and anything that may reduce the airow.
• Do not vacuum toner dust. Toner, such as that used in printers and photocopiers can
conduct electricity.
Turn off all controls before unplugging.
• If your cleaner has the blowing function never use the blower to operate paint spra-
yers or similar devices that emit volatile or toxic vapors.

GROuNDING INSTRucTIONS
This appliance must be grounded. If it should malfunction or breakdown, grounding provides a path of least resistance for electric current to reduce the risk of electric shock. This appliance is equipped with a cord having an equipment-grounding con­ductor and grounding plug. The plug must be inserted into an appropriate outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.
WARNING
– Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in a risk of electric shock. Check with a qualified electrician or service person if you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is properly grounded. Do not modify the plug provi­ded with the appliance – if it will not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician.
This appliance is for use on a nominal 120-V circuit and has a grounding attachment plug that looks like the plug illustrated in Figure 1. Make sure that the appliance is con­nected to an outlet having the same configuration as the plug. No adaptor should be used with this appliance.

APPLIANCE ASSEMBLY
Insert the oval tube complete with handgrip into the top seating in the machine and push all the way in.
Insert the rotary hose coupling in the suc­tion opening B and turn the plastic ring to
lock it into place, as in C.
Replace the ergonomic handle of the suction hose in compartment D of the ap­pliance.

Position the suction group so it is upright, and in line with the suction pipe F and the support E of the carpet beater. Release the group and push it gently down all the way to the bottom, then
lock it in place with the special handle G.
