Von der schweren Güterzuglokomotive E 94 wurden in den Jahren 1940bis1956 in Deutschland und Österreich 202 Exemplare gefertigt. Die als „deutsches Krokodil“ bekannte Maschine ist auf einem Brücken

rahmen zwischen Drehgestellen aufgebaut, die fest mit den gelenkigen Vorbauten verbunden sind. Die E 94 erreichte eine Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 90 bzw. 100 km/h und eine Anfahrleistung von 4 670 kW. Die Österreichischen Bundesbahnen (ÖBB) bezeich

nen ihre Maschinen als Reihe 1020. Durch Ände

rungen an Vorbauten und Stirnseiten sowie andere Farbgebung (dunkles Grün beziehungsweise helles Orange) unterscheiden sie sich von den deutschen Lokomotiven. Ab 1996 verkaufte die ÖBB ihre mittlerweile betag

ten Maschinen der Reihe 1020. So kam die 1020 041-8 zunächst nach Luxemburg, dann in das Eisenbahnmuseum nach Augsburg. Im Jahr 2004 erwarb die Mittelweserbahn (MWB) die Lokomotive, arbeitete sie wieder komplett auf und versah sie mit neuen Führerstandseinrichtungen. Von der MWB wird sie nun täglich eingesetzt, hauptsächlich beim Nachschieben schwerer Güterzüge auf der Spessartrampe von Laufach nach Heigenbrücken - wie einst ihre Schwestermaschinen der BR 194 auf der Geislinger Steige, bzw. am Brenner.

202 units of the heavy freight locomotive E 94 were built between 1940 and 1956 in Germany and Austria. This engine, known as the “German Crocodile”, is a 3-part articulated engine with a central bridge frame riding between two trucks which are in turn rigidly mounted to the end parts of the locomotive body. The E 94 has a top speed of 90 – 100 km/h (56 – 62 m.p.h.) and a starting output of 4,670 kw. The Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) designate their units as the class 1020. They differ from the German locomotives in changes to the hoods and ends as well as a different color scheme (dark green or light orange. In 1996, the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) started selling their class 1020 locomotives, which had aged over the years. Road no. 1020 041-8 initially came to Luxembourg as a result, then to the railroad museum in Augsburg. In 2004, the Mittelweser Railroad (MWB) acquired this locomotive, overhauled it completely and equipped it with new interiors in the engineer‘s cabs. This locomotive is now used daily by the MWB, mainly in pusher service for heavy freight trains on the Spessart grade from Laufach to Heigenbrücken – just as its class 194 siblings once did on Geislingen Grade or on the Brenner Pass.

Ainsi, la 1020 041-8 arriva d’abord au Luxembourg, puis à Augsbourg dans le musée des Chemins de Fer . En 2004, les Mittelweserbahn (MWB) rachetèrent la locomotive, la remirent entièrement à neuf et la pourvurent de nouveaux aménagements pour les cabines de conduite. Les MWB l’utilisent aujourd’hui quotidiennement, principalement pour la pousse de trains marchandises lourds sur la rampe du Spessart entre Laufach et Heigenbrücken – tout comme jadis sa grande sœur, la BR 194, sur la rampe de Geislingen ou sur le Brenner.

100 km/u en een aanzetvermogen van 4.670 kW. De Oosterijkse Bondsspoorwegen (ÖBB) duiden hun machines als serie 1020 aan. door veranderingen aan de voorbouwen en fronten en een andere kleur

stelling (donkergroen resp. fel oranje) onderscheiden zij zich van de Duitse Krokodil. Vanaf 1996 verkocht de ÖBB de inmiddels verouder

de machines van de serie 1020. Zo kwam de 1020 041-8 eerst in Luxemburg terecht, om daarna te verhuizen naar het spoorwegmuseum in Augsburg. In 2004 nam de Mittelweserbahn (MWB) de locomotief over. Daar werd de machine volledig gereviseerd en voorzien van nieuwe cabine-inrichtingen. Bij de MWB is de loc nu dagelijks in gebruik, hoofdzakelijk voor het opduwen van zware goederentreinen over de Spessartrampe van Laufach naar Heigenbrücken, net zoals destijds de zustermachine van de serie 194 op de Geislinger Steige of bij de Brenner.

Sicherheitshinweise

• Beachten Sie unbedingt die Sicherheitshinweise in der Gebrauchsanleitung zu Ihrem Betriebssystem.

• Für den konventionellen Betrieb der Lok muss das Anschlussgleis entstört werden. Dazu ist das Entstörset 74046 zu verwenden. Für Digitalbetrieb ist das Entstörset nicht geeignet.

Die bei normalem Betrieb anfallenden Wartungsarbeiten sind nachfolgend beschrieben. Für Reparaturen oder Ersatzteile wenden Sie sich bitte an Ihren Märklin-Fach

händler.

Safety Warnings

• This locomotive is to be used only with an operating system designed for it (Märklin 6646/6647 AC transformer, Märklin Delta, Märklin Digital or Märklin Systems). Under no circumstances should a transformer rated for an input voltage of 220 volts be used for the 110 volts system in North America.

• This locomotive must never be supplied with power from more than one transformer.

• Pay close attention to the safety warnings in the instructions for your operating system.

• The feeder track must be equipped to prevent inter

ference with radio and television reception, when the locomotive is to be run in conventional operation. The 74046 interference suppression set is to be used for this purpose.

The interference suppression set is not suitable for digital operation.The maintenance work necessary with normal operation of this locomotive is described below. Please see your authorized Märklin dealer for repairs or spare parts.

No warranty or damage claims shall be accepted in those cases where parts neither manufactured nor approved by Märklin have been installed in Märklin products or where Märklin products have been converted in such a way that the non-Märklin parts or the conversion were causal to the defects and / or damage arising. Remarques importantes sur la sécurité

• Veuillez impérativement respecter les remarques sur la sécurité décrites dans le mode d’emploi en ce qui concerne le système d’exploitation.

• Pour l’exploitation de la locomotive en mode conven

tionnel, la voie de raccordement doit être déparasitée. A cet effet, utiliser le set de déparasitage réf. 74046. Le set de déparasitage ne convient pas pour l’exploitation en mode numérique.

Les travaux d‘entretien occasionnels à effectueren exploitation normale sont décrits plus loin. Pour toute réparation ou remplacement de pièces, adressez-vous à votre détaillant-spécialiste Märklin.

Tout recours à une garantie commerciale ou contractuelle ou à une demande de dommages-intérêt est exclu si des pièces non autorisées par Märklin sont intégrées dans les produits Märklin et / ou si les produits Märklin sont transformés et que les pièces d’autres fabricants montées ou la transformation constituent la cause des défauts et / ou dommages apparus. Veiligheidsvoorschriften

• De loc mag alleen met een daarvoor bestemd bedrjfs

systeem (Märklin wisselstroom transformator 6647, Märklin Delta, Märklin digitaal of Märklin Systems) gebruikt worden. In geen geval transformatoren met een ingangsspanning van 220 V – voor USA 110 V – gebruiken.

• De loc mag niet vanuit meer dan één stroomvoorziening gelijktijdig gevoed worden.

• Lees ook aandachtig de veiligheidsvoorschriften in de gebruiksaanwijzing van uw bedrijfssysteem.

• Voor het conventionele bedrijf met de loc dient de aansluitrail te worden ontstoort. Hiervoor dient men de ontstoor-set 74046 te gebruiken. Voor het digitale bedrijf is deze ontstoor-set niet geschikt.

De in het normale bedrijf voorkomende onderhoudswerkzaamheden zijn verderop beschreven. Voor reparatie of onderdelen kunt u zich tot uw Märklin winkelier wenden.

Elke aanspraak op garantie en schadevergoeding is uitgesloten, wanneer in Märklin-producten niet door Märklin vrijgegeven vreemde onderdelen ingebouwd en / of Märklin-producten omgebouwd worden en de ingebouwde vreemde onderdelen resp. de ombouw oorzaak van nadien opgetreden defecten en / of schade was. De aantoonplicht en de bewijslijst daaromtrent, dat de inbouw van vreemde onderdelen in Märklin-producten of de ombouw van Märklin-producten niet de oorzaak van opgetreden defecten en / of schade is geweest, berust bij de voor de inbouw en/of ombouw verantwoordelijke persoon en / of ﬁrma danwel bij de klant.

ón de la alimentación. Para ello debe emplearse el set supresor de interferencias 74046. El set supresor de interferencias no es adecuado para el funcionamiento en modo digital.

Se puede colocar posteriormente el kit de humo.Los trabajos de mantenimiento normales están descritos a continuación. Para reparaciones o recambios contacte con su proveedor Märklin especializado.

• Vogliate prestare assolutamente attenzione alle avver

tenze di sicurezza nelle istruzioni di impiego per il Vostro sistema di funzionamento.

• Per il funzionamento tradizionale della locomotiva il bi

nario di alimentazione deve essere protetto dai disturbi. A tale scopo si deve impiegare il corredo antidisturbi

74046. Tale corredo antidisturbi non è adatto per il funzionamento Digital.

Le operazioni di manutenzione che si veriﬁcano nel normale funzionamento sono descritte nel seguito. Per riparazioni o parti di ricambio Vi preghiamo di rivolgerVi al Vostro rivenditore specialista Märklin.

Märklin non fornisce alcuna garanzia, assicurazione e risarcimento danni in caso di montaggio sui prodotti Märklin di componenti non espressamente approvati dalla ditta. Märklin altresì non risponde in caso di modiﬁche al prodotto, qualora i difetti e i danni riscontrati sullo stesso siano stati causati da modiﬁche non autorizzate o dal montaggio di componente esterni da lei non approvati. L‘onere della prova che i componenti montati e le modiﬁche apportate non sono state la causa del danno o del difetto, resta a carico del cliente o della persona / ditta che ha effettuato il montaggio di componenti estranei o che ha apportato modiﬁche non autorizzate.

Säkerhetsanvisningar

• När motorförsedda lokdel ska köras med konventio

nell/analog drift måste anlutningsskenan vara avstörd. Till detta använder man anslutningsgarnityr 74046 med avstörning och överbelastningsskydd. Avstörningsskyd

det får inte användas vid digital körning.

Setting Locomotive Parameters with the Control Unit

1. Requirement: Setup as in diagram on page 20. Only the locomotive to be changed can be on the track.

2. Press the “Stop” and “Go” at the same time until “99” blinks in the display.

3. Press the “Stop” button.

4. Enter the locomotive address „80“.

5. Hold the control knob in the reverse direction area. While holding the control knob here, press the „Go“ button.

6. The headlights on the locomotive will blink slowly. If they don‘t, repeat Step 2.

7. Enter the register number for the parameter to be changed (=> List on page 22).

8. Active the change of direction.

9. The headlights will blink rapidly.

10.Enter the new value (=>List on page 22).
