SAFETY
Read these guidelines carefully. Not following them
may be dangerous or illegal.
DO NOT RISK
Do not switch on the phone when the use of mobile
phones is prohibited or if it might cause interferences
or danger.
ROAD SAFETY
Do not use this device while driving any kind of vehicle.
INTERFERENCES
All wireless devices may cause interferences, which
could affect the performance of other devices.
RESTRICTED AREAS
Switch OFF your telephone in an airplane since it may
disturb the operation of other equipment located
therein. The telephone may interfere with operation of
the medical equipment in hospitals and health
protection entities. Abide by any kinds of prohibitions,
regulations and warnings conveyed by the medical
staff.
QUALIFIED SERVICE
Only qualified personnel or an authorized service
centre may install or repair this product. Repairing by
an unauthorized or unqualified service may cause
phone damage and warranty loss.
CHILDREN
The phone is not a toy. Keep the device and its
accessories out of reach of children.
Making alarm calls may not be possible in some areas
or circumstances. It is recommended to find an
alternative way to notify emergency services if you are
going to undeveloped or remote areas.
BATTERY AND ACCESSORIES
Avoid exposing the battery to very high/low
temperatures (below 0°C/32°F and over 40°C/104°F).
Extreme temperatures may influence capacity and
battery life. Avoid contact with liquids and metal objects
as it may cause partial or complete battery damage. Do
not destroy, impair or throw the battery into flames - it
is dangerous and may cause fire. Never open the
battery. Installing an incorrect battery type can cause
explosion. Worn-out or impaired battery should be
placed in a dedicated container. The battery should be
used according to its purpose. Excessive charging the
battery can cause damage, therefore a single battery
charge should not last longer than 12 hours (1 day an
absolute max.). Please dispose of battery according to
the instructions. Disconnect an unused charger from
power grid. In case of the charger wire damage, it
should not be repaired but replaced with a new one.
Use only the original MyPhone accessories available
with your phone.
WATERPROOF
This device is not waterproof. Protect it from liquids and
moisture.
Before you use the device refer to information about
safety precautions and instructions for using the phone.
The descriptions in this manual are based on the
default settings of the phone. The latest version of the
user manual can be found on website:
www.myphone.pl.
Depending on the installed version of the software,
service providers, SIM card or country, some of the
descriptions in this manual may not match your phone.
PETROL STATION SAFETY
Always turn off the phone while refuelling your car on a
petrol station. Do not use your phone close to
chemicals.
To avoid hearing damage, do not use the
device at high volume levels for a long period
of time, do not put operating device directly to
the ear.
Before you start using your phone, make sure all of the
following items are included in the box:
• MyPhone Rumba device,
• Li-Ion 800 mAh battery,
• Charger,
• Cradle charger,
• Manual,
• Warranty card.
If any of the above items is missing or damaged, please
contact your dealer.
There is a sticker containing the IMEI and serial
number on the packaging of MyPhone Rumba set.
Therefore, it is recommended to keep the packaging in
case of any complaints. Keep the container out of reach
of children.
To turn the phone on and off press and hold the
<red handset> button. Directly after turning the phone
on you will see the code request, (in form of “****”) enter
the code and press <OK>.
If the phone is on – turn it off. Take off the cover by
pulling the flap with your finger, starting at the bulge (5)
Take out the battery.
Insert SIM card into the slot, as it is in the picture inside
of the phone. Insert memory card. MicroSD memory
card should be placed with its gold contacts facing
down, the way in which the slot is embossed, and close
the locking tab. The maximum memory card supported
capacity is 16 GB.Insert the battery - the battery
should be placed in such a way that the three gold
contacts touch the triple connector in the phone.
Replace the battery cover by sliding it gently into place.
Charging the battery
Connect the USB cable to the appropriate charger
socket. Then plug the microUSB cable to the phone
microUSB socket and plug the charger into the power
outlet. You can also plug the microUSB cable to the
microUSB cradle charger and the phone placed in it so
that the connectors (24) in phone contact with the
connectors in the base.
*Attention: Improper connection of the charger can
cause serious damage to the phone. Damages caused
by an improper use of the phone are not covered by the
warranty.
While charging, a static icon of the battery state
located in upper right corner of the screen, will be
animated . When charging is complete unplug the
charger from the power outlet. Unplug the cable from
the socket on the phone.
Battery discharge indicator
When the battery gets discharged, a message of the
need to charge will be displayed. Battery icon will be
”empty” . If the charge level is too low, the phone
will turn off automatically. To use the phone, one has to
charge the battery.
The first start of the phone
During the first start of the phone one has to choose the
language in which the menu will be displayed. Choose
your mother tongue or any other language you wish to
use the phone in. Then select current date and time. To
save changes press <OK>.
2. Basic functions
Access to the menu
To gain access to the phone menu one should press
<Menu>button placed beneath <Red handset>
button (starting from the main phone screen). Using
navigation buttons <Up> and <Down> select the
chosen menu item. Press <Menu> / <OK> button, to
confirm your choice and enter chosen menu item or
• [Keytone volume] – press [Options] → [Change] →
<Select> and choosekeytone volume using volume buttons <17>. Confirm with <OK> button.
• [Cover open] – press [Options] → [Change] →
<Select> and choose the tone to be used while
opening the flip (silent, tone 1, tone 2). Confirm with
<OK> button.
• [Cover close] – press [Options] → [Change] →
<Select> and choose the tone to be used while
closing the flip (silent, tone 1, tone 2). Confirm with
<OK> button.
• [System alert] – press [Options] → [Change] →
<Select> and choose On or Off. Confirm with <OK>
button.
Turning ”Meeting” profile on and off.
To change sound profiles between “Meeting” and
“General” (starting from the main phone screen) use
<#> button. Press it and hold for about 2 seconds until
„Meeting mode activated” announcement is displayed.
Press and hold <#> button again to get back to general
sound profile - „General mode activated”
announcement is displayed.
Call handling functions
Calling
Enter the number to the main screen using the numeric
keypad. We recommend that you enter the area code
prior to the telephone number. Press
<Green handset >, to start the call. Press <Red
handset>, to finish the call.
Answering an incoming call
An incoming call is answered by opening the phone
cover (flip). If the phone is open press
<Green handset> or press [Options] →[Answer].
If the cover (flip) is closed the call is rejected by
pressing volume buttons (volume down). If the phone
cover (flip) is closed press <Red handset>. The same
button also ends the call.
Messages
Sending SMS
Enter: [Menu] → [Messaging] → [Write message].
Type in the message using the keypad. Sings are typed
in letter by letter. <#> button is used to change the input
method. The following are possible
• Abc– The first letter capital, the rest lower case.
Also, to insert a special character i.e. period, comma,
dash, etc., press <*> and choose from the list, or press
the <1> a number of times (in a mode other than
"Numeric"). To enter a space between the words press
<0> button. To enter the letter ”b” one should press
<2> button twice. To enter the letter ”d” one should
press <3> button once etc. When typing the message
is done one should press [Options] button and choose
an option [Send to] and [Enter number] or choose
a number from the Phonebook and confirm with <OK>.
Subsequently select: [Options] → [Send], to send the
message.
Message display
Enter: [Menu] → [Messages] → [Inbox], choose
a message from the list and select [Options] → [View]
→ <Select>, to see the message itself.

Adding a new contact
To add a contact, enter: [Menu] → [Phonebook] →
[Add new contact] → [Options] → <Select> → [To
SIM] or [To phone]. Insert the contact information by
choosing the name or number by <up> or <down>
buttons, then choose [Options] → [Save] to save or
[Cancel], to abort. After entering the phone number /
name, press <OK>. Select <Save>, to save the
contact. If one wants to save the contact in phone
memory it is possible to add a contact picture/photo
and a ringtone, beside from the name and number.
Search for a contact
To search contact enter : [Menu] → [Phonebook].
Enter the first letter of the contact and a full list of
contacts starting with given letter will appear on screen.
To search for a specific contact use <up> or <down>
buttons. After searching and selecting a contact, select
[Options] and a list of available options will be
displayed:
• [View] – to see the contact
• [Add to Favourite Numbers] – to add to favourite
numbers
• [Send text message] – to send a text message
• [Call] – to call given number
• [Edit] – to edit given contact
• [Delete] – to delete given contact
• [Copy] – to copy the contact to SIM memory or to
Phone memory
• [Phonebook settings] – It allows you to set speed
dial for 8 keys from 2 to 9, to preview memory status or
add fixed dial.
Deleting contacts
To delete a single contact enter: [Menu] →
[Phonebook] → search the contact to delete →
[Options] → [Delete] and confirm with <Yes>.
3. Advanced functions
Calling a contact from the phonebook.
To call a number saved in submenu [Phonebook] one
should enter [Menu] → [Phonebook] starting from the
main phone screen. Search for the contact by entering
its first letter, then select it and make a call by pressing
the <Green handset>.
Missed calls
Missed calls are displayed on the main phone screen.
An appropriate message and an icon on the display will
inform you about a missed call. To check who called
press [View] when the message is displayed on
screen. Another solution is to use the [Call centre]. To
select it, go to [Menu] → [Call Centre] → [Call History] → [Missed calls] → select the connection
you want to check → [Options] → [View]. To call back,
select the missed call from the list, then press <Green
handset> to make a call.
SOS
The phone has a built-in SOS function which allows the
user (in case of emergency) to trigger an alarm and
notify the person in the family or a doctor about the
accident. To use that option one has to enter [Menu]
→ [SOS]. There you can activate the button at the back
of the phone [Settings], enable or disable SOS
ringtone[SOS alarm ring]. enter the number to which
notification is sent [SOS number], enable or disable
the notification SMS [SOS SMS], enter the message
that is to be sent in case of emergency [SOS content].
When all options are set and SOS button is activated,
a sound alarm will set off, an SOS message will be sent
to chosen SOS numbers. Then the phone will attempt
to call SOS numbers that were set earlier up until the
connection is established. The alert can be turned off
by pressing <Back>.
Speakerphone mode
During the call, press [H-free]to activate the
speakerphone mode.
Speed dial
Enter [Menu] → [Phonebook] → [Options] →
[Phonebook settings] → [Speed dial]. You can set
the [Status] of this feature - whether it is active or not.
You can assign contacts to keys from 2 to 9. To do this,
select and activate it. Enter [Set numbers] and a list
will appear - on the left side of the display are situated
digits which correspond with keyboard buttons. Choose
one of them, press <Edit> and choose a contact from
the list. After setting the numbers, press <Red handset> to return to the main screen of the phone. To
use speed dialling press and hold for about 3 second a
programmed keypad button.
Favourite numbers
You can assign 3 numbers to M1/M2/M3 buttons by
entering [Menu] → [Settings]→ [Favourite numbers]. Each button can have assigned one
number, name and a picture/photo. Confirm your
choice by pressing [Save]. Repeat this steps for
remaining buttons. After setting the numbers, press
<Red handset> to return to the main screen of the
phone. To call a favourite number press lightly
M1/M2/M3 button.
Photo contacts
The phone offers a possibility to use 8 photo contacts..
Enter [Menu] → [Photo Contacts] → <OK>. Then
choose a position between 2 and 8 and choose <Edit>.
Enter the Username, Number and Caller picture, In
general, the Photo Contacts menu can be entered by
pressing <Down> button, starting from the main phone
screen.
Connecting your phone to the computer
MyPhone Rumba can be plugged to the PC computer
using USB cable. This allows you to view and
exchange data between your computer and your
phone, when a microSD card is installed. To do this,
you must:
1. Connect the microUSB connector to your phone,
then connect the USB connector to a USB port on
your computer.
2. An information about USB connection should be
displayed on your phone screen.
3. Choose [Mass storage] from the displayed list.
4. The phone is now connected to the computer. The
contents of the phone memory can be viewed using
Windows Explorer.
Starting from the main screen press and hold <0>
(zero) for about a second, until “+” will appear. Enter
the full phone number of the recipient (the country code
and the telephone number), and then press
<Green handset> to make a call.
4. Other phone features
Time and date settings
To set time and date, one should enter: [Menu] →
[Settings] → [Phone settings] → [Time and date]
and choose from the list:
[Set home city] – to determine the time zone for given
city.
[Set time/date] – to change time or date
[Set format] – to change the display format to 12 hours
or 24 hours and day/month/year order display.
[Update with time zone]– turn on automatic
synchronization with time zone.
Menu language settings
To set or change the language of menu enter: [Menu]
→ [Settings] → [Phone settings] → [Language] and
select your preferred language from the list.
Display settings
Enter [Menu] → [Setting] → [Phone settings] →
[Misc. settings] → [LCD backlight], where the brightness can be set using <M1> and <M3> buttons.
Enter [Menu] → [Settings] → [Phone settings] →
[Display] to set parameters like:
• [Wallpaper] → [System], if you want to choose from
system wallpapers or → [User defined] if you want to
add your own wallpaper from microSD memory card
and choose any picture from the list. To see a preview
of given picture select [OK]. To select the chosen
picture as a wallpaper press: [OK] → [OK].
• [Power on display] → [System], if you want to see
system animations or → [User defined] if you want to
add your own animation from microSD memory card.
To select the chosen animation press: [OK] → [OK].
• [Power off display] → [System], if you want to see
system animations or → [User defined] if you want to
add your own animation from microSD memory card.
To select the chosen animation press: [OK] → [OK].
• [Show date and time], if you want to set time and
date display on the main phone screen.
Call settings
Enter [Menu] → [Call centre] → [Call settings]. There
are available call settings like waiting call, diverting and
barring the calls, as well as switching the line.
Additionally the submenu [Advanced settings]
contains functions of auto redial, call time reminder and
possible answer modes (Answering by opening the
phone flip, automatic answering while on headset, and
answering with any key).
Enter [Menu] → [Alarm]. Choose any available alarm
and press [Edit], to change alarm settings: status
(on/off), time of the alarm (using numerical keypad),
and also the repeat mode (once, every day, custom).
Additionally, you can choose an alarm tone. Save the
changes: [Options] → <Save>.
Torch
The torch can be switched on by pressing (14) button.
Press the same button again to switch it off.
Use of calculator
Enter [Tools] → [Calculator]. Basic arithmetic
operations can be performed using the numeric keypad
(typing numbers, digits). Actions can be set using
navigation keys <Up> - addition, <Down> - subtraction,
<M1> - multiplication and <M3> - division. To see the
result choose [M2].
Factory settings
To get back to factory settings enter [Menu] →
[Settings] → [Restore settings], input the phone
password and confirm by pressing <OK>. Password
required to restore the factory settings is 1122.
Call log
Enter [Menu] → [Call centre] → [Call history].There
you can see the entire call log – what calls were dialled,
received etc. The following entries are placed in
submenu:
To enter any of the above options choose it from the list
and press <OK>.
Audio player
To turn audio player on enter [Menu] → [Multimedia]
→ [Audio player]. This application allows you to play
music files in MP3, AMR, WAV formats. To play
a music file you have to add it to the playlist. If music
files are saved on memory card, choose [Options] →
[Settings] and choose with <M1> and <M3> buttons
either the phone memory or memory card. Then
choose <Save> and then [Options] → [Add] to
choose the memory card or any file with music and
enter [Options] → [Add]. Files will be added to the
playlist. Get back to the audio player. To enjoy the
audio player use the following buttons:
To use a built-in FM radio enter [Menu] →
[Multimedia] → [FM Radio].
Enter: [Options] → [Auto search], to search for
available radio station. All found radio stations will be
saved and available in the [Channel List] in options
menu. Radio control is done using the following keys:

Calendar
MyPhone Rumba phone has a calendar available. You
can view the current date or check various dates and
days.
To see the calendar enter: [Menu] → [Tools] →
[Calendar]. You can add events, to which in turn you
can add „remind” option. To move between given dates
in the calendar use <Up>, <Down>, <M1> and <M3>
(left, right) buttons. Choose the date and press
<Options>, then enter [Add event] → <Select>.
• [Alarm] – at what time should the alarm go off (5 min.
before, 10 min. before etc.).
• [Repeat] – How often should the reminder go off
(once, every day, custom, weekly, monthly, yearly).
• [Location] – where the event is scheduled.
• [Details] – detailed description of the event.
The reminder will appear on screen at the set time and
date.
Bluetooth
Bluetooth function is available on the phone. It is used
to wirelessly connect and files exchange with other
devices equipped with Bluetooth. To use Bluetooth
function enter: [Menu] → [Settings] → [Bluetooth].
Options available:
• [Power] – by pressing <On> you will turn on the
function and by pressing <Off> you will turn it off. When
the Bluetooth function is on you will see an icon on the
upper status bar on screen.
• [Visibility] – Enabling this feature allows the visibility
of your phone on the list of available devices of other
phones, tablets and computers equipped with
Bluetooth.
• [My device] – An option [Search Device] is situated
here. You can view the list of available Bluetooth
devices in range. This feature allows you to connect to
available devices from the list.
• [Search audio devices] – You can search for audio
devices.
• [My name] – It allows you to enter the name under
which the phone will be visible when you connect to
other Bluetooth devices. Default name
is ”myPhone_Rumba”.
• [Advanced] – Options such as possibility to choose
the audio track, the memory (where the files
downloaded by Bluetooth are stored), module address
are situated here.
Pairing Bluetooth devices.
To connect to a Bluetooth device choose it from a list
of available devices by entering: [Menu]→
[Settings] → [Bluetooth] → [My device] select
[Search new device], to search for all available
devices. Pressing <Cancel> will stop the search.
After pressing <Cancel> a list will be displayed and <Pair> option will appear. Press <Pair> to pair
chosen device. Both devices should display a
request for password compliance. Press [OK] to pair
devices. Sometimes a password is required –
universal is 0000 (four zeros) or 1234.
Send files via Bluetooth.
To send files situated on the memory card to a paired
(connected) device enter [Menu] → [File manager]
→ [Memory Card] or [Phone], then [Options] → [Open] and choose a file you want to send. Then
choose [Options] → [Send ] → [Via Bluetooth] and
search the device you wish to send the file to or add it
from the list of paired devices. The file will be send
[Multimedia] → [Camera] or by pressing and holding
<*> button. When you start the camera, place the
subject you wish to photograph in the frame, and then
press <M2> to take a photo that will be saved
automatically in the phone memory or a microSD card
in the "Photos" file. You can view the pictures you have
taken and all others by entering: [Menu] →

The phone has to be switched
Battery in this device can be powered by a charger. If
the battery level is low, recharge it. To prolong battery
life, let it discharge beneath 20% of the battery level
and then charge it to 100%.If not used, unplug the
charger from the phone. Excessive charging causes
shortened battery life.
The temperature of the battery has impact on its
charging cycle. Prior to the charging process, cool the
battery or raise its temperature so that it is similar to the
room temperature (approx. 20ºC).
If the battery temperature exceeds 40ºC the battery
must not be charged! The device will display an
appropriate message if the battery gets overheated.
Use the battery only according to its intended purpose.
Do not use damaged battery. The battery lifespan can
be shortened, if it has been exposed to very low or very
high temperatures - this causes interference to the
phone, even when the battery has been properly
charged. Do not throw the battery into flames! Do not
throw a worn-out battery – send it or return it to an
authorized recycling point!
Device maintenance
To prolong life of the device obey the following rules.
Keep the phone and its accessories out of reach of
children. Keep the phone in a dry place, do not expose
it to moisture. Avoid exposing the phone at the high and
low temperatures; it can shorten life of phone electronic
components, melt the plastic parts, and destroy the
battery.
Do not try to disassemble the phone. Tampering with
its structure in an unprofessional manner may cause
serious damage to the phone or destroy it completely.
For cleaning use only a dry cloth. Never use any agent
with a high concentration of acids or alkalis. Use only
original accessories; violation of this rule may result in
invalidation of the guarantee.
It is recommended that the phone has not been used
at temperatures below 0 ° C / 32 ° F or higher than 40
° C / 104 ° F.
Safety information
While using the phone, take into account the legal
regulations concerning security and the safety of its
surroundings.
Road safety
Apart from emergency situations, using the phone
while driving should be carried out only with use of
a headset or a speakerphone, which ensures safety
and does not limit motor abilities of the user. If one does
not own a headset and still wants to use the phone, one
should pull over and stop the car.
Pay attention to the legal regulations concerning the
use of mobile phone while driving. Some electronic
components of the car without adequate protection can
be affected by waves emitted by the phone; it is
therefore advisable to use the phone in the car only
when the external antenna of the vehicle is secured.
Use the services of a professional when installing the
phone in the car.
Surroundings security
Familiarise yourself with legal regulations concerning
the use of mobile phones. Turn off the phone in areas
where its use is forbidden or when it may cause
interference or danger. The use of any devices that
transmit radio waves causes interference with medical
devices (i.e. cardiac pacemaker), if they are not
properly secured (if in doubt, consult your doctor or
medical device manufacturer).
In places where there is a risk of explosion (i.e. petrol
stations, chemical factories etc.), it is advisable to turn
off the phone. Please refer to regulations governing the
use of GSM equipment in these places.
Attention: Listening to audio player for too long
or too loud can cause hearing damage.
Technological criteria
Network: GSM 2G 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
Some services may depend on your provider, the state
of your local cellular network, version of the SIM card
used and the way you use your phone. For more
information, please contact your service provider.
Your mobile phone is a transmitter and receiver of radio
waves. It is designed and manufactured according to
current safety standards, so that exposure to radio
waves never exceeds the limits set by the Council of
European Union. Those limits establish the permitted
levels of RF energy for the general population and were
developed by independent scientific organizations on
the basis of detailed scientific studies, including a large
safety margin. Their purpose is to ensure the safety of
all people, regardless of age and health. With regard to
cell phones the level of exposure to radio waves is
measured by the value SAR (Specific Absorption
Rate). The SAR limit recommended by the Council of
the European Union is 2 W / kg and refers to the
averaged value for 10 grams of tissue
The highest SAR value for the phone myPhone
garbage bin, in accordance with the
European Directive 2012/19 / EU on used
electrical and electronic equipment (Waste
Electrical and Electronic equipment WEEE). Products marked with this symbol
should not be disposed of or dumped with
other household waste after a period of use. The user
is obliged to get rid of used electrical and electronic
equipment by delivering it to designated recycling point
in which dangerous waste are being recycled.
Collecting this type of waste in designated locations,
and the actual process of their recovery contribute to
the protection of natural resources. Proper disposal of
used electrical and electronic equipment is beneficial
to human health and environment. To obtain
information on where and how to dispose of used
electrical and electronic equipment in an
environmentally friendly manner user should contact
their local government office, the waste collection point,
or point of sale where the equipment was purchased.
EC on the disposal of batteries, this
product is marked with crossed-out
garbage bin symbol. The symbol
indicates that the batteries used in this
product should not be disposed with normal household
waste, but treated according to the legal directives and
local regulations.
It is not allowed to dispose of batteries and
accumulators with unsorted municipal waste. Users of
batteries and accumulators must use the available
collection points of these items, which allows them to
return, recycle and disposal.
Within the EU, the collection and recycling of batteries
and accumulators is a subject to separate procedures.
To learn more about existing procedures of recycling of
the batteries and accumulators please contact your
local office or an institution for waste disposal or landfill.
