2.1 Installation sequence
Recommended positions:
1. 2-Way Communicator – in the wheel well or underneath the vehicle
2. 2-Way BreakOutBox – inside the driver compartment
2.1.1 2-Way Communicator
The 2-Way Communicator is the device that receives your official timing and positioning information (based on your personal transponder).
For optimal communication performance with the timing system, the 2-Way Communicator must be installed according to the installation requirements.
Installation requirements:
The 2-Way Communicator should have a clear view to the track;
The 2-Way Communicator is mounted max. 30cm (1ft) from the track;
The 2-Way Communicator should not be installed within 30cm (1ft) of your Personal Transponder;
Maximum operating temperature should not exceed 50°C/122F;
No electrical wires or electrical devices within 10cm (4 in) to the 2-Way Communicator;
No carbon fiber around the 2-Way Communicator.
