MXR has be e n a major player in t he guitar e ffe cts w orld for some time now —lon g en ou gh fo r so me of its
popular pedals to be c on sidere d classics, like the Phase 90, Disto rtion +, Carbo n Copy An alog Delay, and many
more . T he c ompany’s Micro pe dals are part of the MXR classics series, w h ich are reissues of some gre at p edals
from a fe w de cades ago . T he Micro Ch oru s is ce rt ainly a classic, and this reissue re minds us that desp ite it ’s
simple d esign, it c an do an aw fu l lot.
Features
Upo n first inspect ion , th e Micro Cho rus looks just like a yellow Ph ase 90 . It’s t he same size, same weigh t , and
has t he same single-knob c onfigu ration. T he Micro Ch orus’ single kno b co nt rols th e pe dal’s Rate (or spe e d) .
You c an also pu t t he included kn ob c over on t o adjust the rat e w ith your foot .
The Micro Chorus fe ature s single inpu t and o ut p ut jacks, a 9 vo lt jack, and (all-analog) bucket brigade
te c hnolog y. T he bat t ery life is long and t he n oise leve l is low —p erhaps even non-exist ent . A red LED lets you
kno w w he n the e ffe ct is en gag ed.

to nes for Nirvana’s “Com e as Yo u Are,” t h e t ypical Red Hot Chili Pep pers kind o f sound, and Met allica’s “Fade t o
Black” clean t one . It’ s an impressive range of u seful chorus t one s t hat show just how ve rsatile the t iny pe dal
is. I w as ve ry impresse d w ith w h at t his migh ty litt le on e-knob be ast w as capable o f. Playing around a bit, I w as
even able t o ge t so me Ro bin Trow e r U ni-Vibe tones, and w h ile adjusting t he rate with my foot . T his litt le
boog er is studio quiet , to o. I’m sold.
