Ultimate riff power is yours with the M116 Fullbore Metal Distortion pedal
from MXR. This compact but powerful device is all you need to unleash the
most devastating contemporary metal guitar tones ever heard. The Fullbore
Metal turbo-charges your guitar signal with lethal amounts of ultra high
gain. This is combined with a built-in Noise Gate to knock out the noise
associated with extreme gain levels while also adding definition and
tightness to syncopated metal riffs.

Extensive EQ controls, with Bass, Mid, sweepable Mid-Freq and Treble
knobs let you sculpt your tone with fiendish precision. The additional Scoop
switch provides an instant high and low frequency boost that’ll rumble the

CONTROLS
1 VOLUME controls overall effect

volume (inactive in bypass mode).

2 FREQ selects the midrange frequency (200Hz

to 5KHz) that is adjusted by the MID control.

3 GAIN controls the overall amount of

distortion.

4 GATE button activates the noise gate

(illuminated Green LED indicates that the
Gate function is active).

5 SCOOP activates the Scoop function

(illuminated Red LED indicates on).
6 LOW controls the amount of low end.
7 MID controls the amount of midrange

selected by the FREQ control.

The MXR Fullbore Metal can be powered by one 9-volt battery (accessed
by removing the bottom plate of the pedal), a Dunlop ECB003 AC adapter
(ECB003E in Europe), a Dunlop DCB10 DC Brick, or MC403 Power System.

A) Run a cable from your guitar to the Fullbore Metal’s Input jack and
run another cable from the Fullbore’s Output jack to your amplifier.

B) IMPORTANT! Please note, that this pedal is extremely dynamic,
therefore care should be taken during the initial setup by starting
with the VOLUME, GAIN, and BASS controls at fully counter-clockwise
(minimum).
C) Turn the effect on by depressing the footswitch. The illuminated
Blue LED indicates that the unit is on.

D) Adjust the GAIN, VOLUME, LOW, MID, FREQ and HIGH controls until
the desired output and tone is acquired.
E) Depress the SCOOP switch for an instant nu-metal scooped sound
that accentuates the low and high frequencies. The illuminated Red
LED indicates you are in Scoop mode.
F) To sharpen the attack of syncopated rhythms or to cut down on excess
noise, depress the GATE button. The Green LED will illuminate when
the Gate function is active. To adjust the GATE control's sensitivity,
please refer to diagram A.

With a small flathead screwdriver, rotate the Arrow
clockwise to increase the Noise Gate's sensitivity,
causing the gate to cut off faster. Rotate the Arrow
counter-clockwise if notes are being cut off too early.

suggested settings for humbucker or single coil pickups and also combo
amp or high wattage half stack situations.
