General Characteristics

e microphones in the FR-355K kit were designed with high quality FET pre-amps to ensure
outstanding audio quality under even the most demanding conditions. e FR-355K lavalier micro­phones require 48v phantom power to operate. Phantom power is available from most professional
video cameras and mixers.

e FR-355K kit contains 2 dierent microphones. A cardoid mic, and an omni mic. e cardoid
mic has a 8mm capsule and the omni mic a 6mm capsule. ey are both supplied with foam wind­screens and clips.

Experimentation with both positioning and selection of the most suitable microphone for any given
application is recommended, as both can have a pronounced eect upon the quality of recordings.

If for any reason you get no sound from your FR-355K microphone, please check that phantom
power is being correctly supplied.

Microphone Cables

e microphone cable can have a profound eect on the sound of any microphone. Even the nest
microphones will sound poor if the interconnect cable allows noise to enter, or causes distortion and
loss of information. Use only the best microphone cable your budget will allow. We recommend us­ing Mogami® brand cable.

Care

Dust and foreign material can degrade the performance of a microphone over time so always store
the unit in a warm dry place. Remove ngerprints from the exterior with a clean dry soft cloth.
