STP is recommended where EMI/RFI may be an issue. Usage of patch panels is not recommended. When connected to Deep Color equipment, the 500402 removes the Deep Color content to support greater cable length than would normally be achieved.

Quick Installation Guide
Overview
The HDMI Passive Extender Kit (500402) allows HDMI equipment to be connected up to 150 ft (45m) @ 1080i via two (2) Cat5e unshielded twisted pair cables in a point-to-point configuration. The product also works with 1080p up to 150 ft (45m) via Cat6 cable. The kit comes with one (1) Transmitter and one (1) Receiver. Applications include; commercial and residential AV systems, classroom projector systems, digital signage, boardroom systems, collaborative PC systems, medical information systems.
Pre-Installation Check
Identify the connectors on the Source Side and Display Side as indicated on the product.

Installation
Troubleshooting
Verify that the distance between the HDMI Transmitter and Receiver are within MuxLab specifications (see Specifications table).
In order to install the HDMI Passive Extender Kit, please follow the steps below:
1. Connect two (2) lengths of Cat5e (or higher) grade UTP cables to the A and B
connectors on Transmitter (identified as HDMI Passive Extender Source Side).
2. Connect the two (2) Cat5e (or higher) grade UTP cables to the A and B
connectors of the Receiver (identified as HDMI Passive Extender Display Side).
Note: Verify that the cables are connected straight-through (i.e. A to A,
B to B) and not inverted.
3. Connect the Transmitter directly to the HDMI video source.
4. Connect the Receiver directly to the HDMI display equipment.
5. Power on the HDMI equipment and verify the image quality.
6. The following diagram shows the final configuration.
