MERLIN Multi-format Amplifier

The ultimate in mini hi-fi

The Merlin is a conveniently sized integrated amplifier with beautifully designed and executed casework.

The Merlin has a host of inputs both modern and traditional

 Bluetooth
 Optical digital S/PDIF
 USB
 High level analogue line in
 Low level analogue line in (suitable for portable device headphones outputs)
 Phono (RIAA) MM cartridge input.

It also features several outputs

 40W/Channel speaker outputs
 Variable preamp output
 Fixed Line output
 Fixed optical output
 Headphones output

The volume control adjusts internal high precision digital attenuators. This gives unparalleled channel
matching and rock steady imaging even at low levels of volume setting.

The headphone socket features its own independent volume setting, which is automatically used when
headphones are connected, to prevent inadvertent damage to hearing or speakers! When headphones
are removed, the unit reverts to previous output volume setting.

IMPORTANT! (U.K. only)

This unit is supplied in the U.K. with mains lead fitted with a moulded 13 amp plug. If, for any reason, it is
necessary to remove the plug, please make sure it is removed from supply.

Remove the fuse holder and dispose of the plug safely, out of reach of children.

The wires in the mains lead supplied with this appliance are coloured in accordance with the following
code:

WARNING – This appliance MUST be earthed

As the colours of the wires of the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with the coloured
markings identifying the terminals in the plug, proceed as follows:

 The wire which is coloured green-and-yellow must be connected to the terminal in the

plug which is marked with the letter E or coloured green or green-and-yellow, or by the
earth symbol:

 The wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the terminal which is marked

with the letter L or coloured red.

 The wire which is coloured blue must be connected to the terminal which is marked

with the letter N or coloured black.

 If connecting to a BS1363 plug, a 5 amp fuse must be used.
