1. GENERAL SAFETY RULES
READ AND UNDERSTAND THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL BEFORE USING THE
HEAT RADIATOR AND KEEP IT SAFE FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.
THE UNIT MUST BE INSTALLED AND OPERATED FOLLOWING THE HEALTH,
SAFETY AND FIRE PREVENTION RULES IN FORCE IN THE COUNTRY OF DESTINATION.
THE HEAT RADIATOR MUST BE USED ONLY ON LEVEL, FLAT FIRE-PROOF
FLOORS. ENSURE A SAFETY DISTANCE OF 3 m FROM WALLS AND OBJECTS.
THE HEATER IS NOT SUITABLE FOR USE IN ROOMS CONTAINING EXPLOSIVE
DUST, SMOKE, COMBUSTIBLE VAPOURS, FLUIDS AND FLAMMABLE MATERIALS.
THE HEATER CASING BECOMES VERY HOT DURING OPERATION. DO NOT
TOUCH THE UNIT DURING OPERATION AND DURING THE COOLING TIME AFTER SHUT OFF.
DUAL VOLTAGE UNITS: BEFORE CONNECTING TO MAINS, MAKE
SURE THAT THE VOLTAGE SELECTOR IS SET ON THE CORRECT SETTING.
2. DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTIONING
A pump sucks fuel from the tank and drives it to the burner under pressure. Fuel is sprayed and atomized by the nozzle and then ignited by burner ignition device. A built-in radial blower provides the proper combustion air flow. Air and fuel drops mix and form a combustible mixture. The flames heat up the front plate and guard, thus releasing heat by radiation.
The metal front guard acts as a catalyzer, it complete combustion of hydrocarbons and reduces emission of pollutants. To direct the heat to a special point or object, the radiator can be tilted up to 20° upwards or downwards.
3. APPLICATION FIELDS
Heating working areas in large, well ventilated rooms or outdoors heating. Dust-free drying varnished parts. Drying and de-icing construction areas, concrete, walls, etc. Defrosting machines and buildings.
4. INSTALLATION
Fill the oil tank with clean, water-free Diesel oil. Connect to a 230V 50Hz earthed electrical outlet complying with local regulations.
Dual voltage model: connect either to a 230-240V 50Hz or 110V 50Hz electrical outlet. Set the correct voltage on voltage selector.
COLD START: if ignition is difficult at extremely low temperature, check tank, connections
and filter for paraffin formation, and mix Diesel oil with 10% kerosene.
a) INDOOR OPERATION, NO PEOPLE STAYING IN THE HEATED ROOM.
Ensure that sufficient air is available for combustion through windows and doors. The heated volume (m3)/heat output (kW) ratio must be at least 10:1. People must be properly advised not to stay permanently in the heated room.
b) INDOOR OPERATION, PEOPLE STAYING IN THE HEATED ROOM.
Ensure that a good natural supply of ventilation air is available as follows: The heated volume (m3)/heat output (kW) ratio must be at least 30:1. Air circulation must be ensured through windows and doors or permanent openings near floor and ceilings, whose total open area (m2) is at least 0.003 times the total heat output (kW). The volume concentration of O2 (oxygen) in the heated room must always be above 17%.
HEAT RADIATION
1. Loosen the clamping levers on both sides.
2. Position the heat radiator as required.
3. Tighten the clamping levers.
5. START UP
1. To START: set switch to ON
2. To STOP: set switch to OFF
3 m
min.
Ignition does not take place immediately but after a preheating time followed by a prepurge time of about 30 s. If no fuel flows to the burner within 4 s, the heater goes automatically to lock-out mode. In this case, check and eliminate the possible causes of lock-out, then press the RESET button to restart the heater. If the heater does not start, please check that the front radiator is not directly exposed to intense lights (sun, lamps, etc.) as they may interfere with the operation of the burner control unit. Should this occur, position the unit properly or protect it from excessive light.
NEVER SWITCH THE HEATER OFF BY DISCONNECTING IT FROM MAINS. SET
SWITCH TO “OFF” POSITION BEFORE!
6. CLEANING AND SERVICING
UNPLUG THE HEATER BEFORE CLEANING OR SERVICING THE HEATER.
ENSURE THAT THE UNIT IS CHECKED BY A QUALIFIED TECHNICIAN AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR. MAIN FILTER: replace fuel filter cartridge if you see water or dirt particles in the filter glass and at least every 200-300 operating hours.
FUEL: empty the tank and fill with clean fuel if the fuel is dirt or mixed with water.
FOR FURTHER DETAILS ABOUT BURNER SERVICING SEE THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL FOR THE OIL BURNER (INCLUDED).
7. TROUBLE-SHOOTING
ALL ELECTRICAL SERVICING MUST BE CARRIED OUT ONLY BY A QUALIFIED
ELECTRICIAN.
DISCONNECT THE HEATER FROM MAINS BEFORE ANY SERVICING/REPAIR.
Malfunction Possible Causes Remedy The heater does not start, when the switch is set to ON
a) no electrical supply b) defective ON/OFF switch c) burner lock-out
a) check mains, switch and fuses b) replace ON/OFF switch
d) defective motor/capacitor c) reset oil burner; if lock out
repeats, reset after 4-5 min d) check motor/capacitor,
replace if necessary The heater starts but a malfunction immediatley occurs
a) no fuel in the tank b) air in the fuel circuit c) oil filter clogged d) oil burner lock-out
a) refill oil tank
b) check oil circuit connections
c) replace filter cartridge
d) see operating instructions
for burner The heater operates but the combustion is smoky
a) blocked nozzle b) filter is clogged c) water in the fuel d) paraffin formation in the main filter e) not enough fuel in the tank f) air suction in the oil line g) defective solenoid valve
a) replace nozzle
b) clean filter
c) fill tank with clean fuel
d) replace oil preheater
e) fill tank completely
f) tighten connections in the oil
circuit
g) see operating instructions
for burner The burner fan goes on running although the appliance has been switched off and cooled down
a) defective postventilation relay
a) replace postventilation relay
