TheAirTreatmentSystemdescribedinthismanualishereafterreferredtoasthe“unit”.

Thisinstructionmanualcontainsimportantsafetyinformation,aproductdescriptionandmaintenance
instructionsforthedeliveredairtreatmentunit.Readallrelevantpartsofthismanualbeforeoperatingor
performinganyworkontheunit.Observanceofthisinformationwillhelpyoutoavoiddanger,tominimise
repaircostanddowntime,andtoincreasethereliabilityandtheservicelifeoftheairtreatmentunit.
Thismanualshouldbestoredinapermanentlocationclosetotheunit.

1.4Warranty
ThewarrantyisbasedonthetermsofsaleanddeliveryofMunters.Thewarrantyisnotvalidifrepairsor
modicationsarecarriedoutwithoutthewrittenagreementofMunters,oriftheunitdoesnotoperateunder
theconditionsagreedwithMunters.Damagesresultingfromnegligence,poormaintenanceorfailureto

Itisaconditionofthewarrantythattheunitforthefullwarrantyperiodisservicedandmaintainedbya
qualiedMuntersengineerorMuntersapprovedengineer.Accesstospecicandcalibratedtestequipment
isnecessary.Theserviceandmaintenancemustbedocumentedforthewarrantytobevalid.
Thewarrantyislimitedtoafreeexchangeofpartsorcomponentswhichhavefailedasaresultofdefects
inmaterialsorworkmanship.
Commissioning/Start-upinspection"S"byMuntersismandatorytovalidatethefullwarranty.
AlwayscontactMuntersforserviceorrepair.Operatingfaultscanoccuriftheunitismaintained
insufcientlyorincorrectly.
1.5Inspectionofdelivery
Uponreceipt,inspecttheequipmentbeforesigningthedeliverynote.Specifyanydamageonthedelivery
noteandsendaregisteredletterofcomplainttothelastcompanyresponsiblefortransportingthe
equipmentwithinthreedays.InformMuntersofthiscomplaint.
Theunitmustbefullyinspectedwithinoneweekfromarrival.Ifahiddenfaultisdiscovered,senda
registeredletterofcomplainttothehaulierwithintheweekfollowingdelivery,andnotifyMuntersofthis.

ThetechnicaldataforaspecicunitcanbefoundintheseparateDatasheetissuedforeachunit.

2.1Intendeduse
TheunitdeliveredbyMuntersmustonlybeusedforthetreatmentofair.Thisincludesltering,heating,
cooling,humidifying,dehumidifyingandtransportingair.Muntersexplicitlyrulesoutanyotheruse.
Theunitisdesignedtomeetthesafetyrequirements,directivesandstandardslistedintheECDeclarationof
Conformity.
NomodicationoftheunitisallowedwithoutpriorapprovalbyMunters.Attachmentorinstallationof
additionaldevicesisonlyallowedafterwrittenagreementbyMunters.
TheconditionsofoperationspeciedintheseparateDatasheetmustbeobservedabsolutely.Anyotheruse
oftheequipmentcancausepersonalinjuryanddamagetotheunitandotherproperty.
2.2Safeinstallation,operationandmaintenance
Greatefforthasbeenplacedonthedesignandmanufactureoftheunit,tocomplywithapplicablesafety
aspectsforthistypeofequipment.
Theinformationinthismanualincludessuggestionsforbestworkingpracticeandshallinnowaytake
precedenceoverindividualresponsibilitiesorlocalregulations.

Inordertoavoidthepossibledangersinoperatingormaintainingtheunit,necessaryprotectionshavebeen
foreseen.However,therearestillsomeresidualrisksthatallpersonnelworkingwiththeunitmustbeaware
of:
Thehandlingofuidsinrefrigerating,heatingorcoolingcircuitscanbedangerous.Studytheinformation
relevantforeachtypeofuidtoavoiddangers.
Hotorcoldsurfacescancauseinjuries.Beforeintervening,waituntiltemperaturesbecomenormaloruse
protectiveclothing.
Whenworkinginsidetheunit,payattentiontothepossibleergonomicdangersfrominadequatework
positionsorheavylifts.
Unitsectionscanbehigh.Usesecurescaffoldingtoaccesstheupperlevel.
Unitpanelscanbeheavy.Donothandlealone.
Sharpsteeledgesonboxesorcoilscancausecuts.Useprotectivegloves,particularlyduringdisassembly
orassembly .
Whenworkingwithornearfans,beawarethatremainingairowthroughtheunitcancausespontaneous
rotationofthefansandtherebycausingpersonalinjury.
Doorsforoverpressurecompartmentscanbeequippedwithadditionalsafetylocksagainstaccidental
opening.Ensurethatsuchlocksareclosedbeforestartingtheunit.
Thereand/orsmokedetectionisnotasafetyfunctioninrelationtotheENISO13849-1.
Whenworkingwithltersorinadustyarea:T oprotecttheuserfromdust,wearasuitableCEmarkedface
maskselectedandttedinaccordancewiththeapplicablesafetystandards.

rotortheairisindirectlycooledbytheevaporativecoolerintheexhaust.Finally,theairisfurthercooled
directlybytheevaporativecoolerinthesupply.
Thereisaheaterintheexhaustairstreamforreactivationofthedesiccantrotor.Seethemoredetailed

Inwintertimetheunitproduceswarmair.Thethermalrecoveryrotorstartstorotateandrecoversheat

Pre-andpost-treatmentoftheprocessaircanbeperformedbythefollowingfunctionalcomponents:
■Inletdamperstoenableisolationoftheunitfromtheairow .Thedampersareinstalledontheoutside
oftheunit.
■Heatingcoil:Thecoilcanbeelectricorusehotwaterorsteamasheatingmedium.Thecoilmustthen
beconnectedtoanexternalheatingmediumsupply.Itispossibletoactivateapumpfromthecontrol
system.
■Coolingcoil:Thecoiluseschilledwater,possiblymixedwithglycol.Thecoilmustbeconnectedtoan

Therotoristheadsorptiondehumidifyingcomponentintheunit.Therotorstructureiscomprisedofa
largenumberofsmallairchannels.
Thedesiccantrotorismadeofacompositematerialthatishighlyeffectiveinattractingandretainingwater
vapour.Therotorisdividedintwozones.Theairowtobedehumidied,processair,passesthroughthe
largestzoneoftherotorandthenleavestherotorasdryair.Sincetherotorrotatesslowly,theincomingair
alwaysmeetsadryzoneontherotor,thuscreatingacontinuousdehumidicationprocess.
Theairowthatisusedtodrytherotor,reactivationair,isheated.Thereactivationairpassesthrough

1.Thecoilsshouldbecheckedatleastonceayear,andcleanedifrequired.
2.Someofthedustwhichpassesthroughthelterscomestorestonthecoilcells.Thislayerofdust
affectstheairowandreducestherateofexchangeleadingtodecreasedunitefciency.
3.Thecoilsshouldthereforebekeptclean.Cleaningcanbedonebyusingavacuumcleaner,lowpressure
compressedairorlowpressurewaterandasoftbrush.Donotforgettocleantheunitinternallyafterthe
coilcleaning.NeveruseHPcleaners,thiswilldamagethecoilns.

Theowratevariesaccordingtotherotationspeedofthefan,thepressureaccordingtothesquareofthe
rotationspeedandtheabsorbedpoweraccordingtothecubeofthisspeed.Ifthesystempressureislower
thanthevaluesestimated,theowratewillincreasetogetherwiththeabsorbedpower,whichcreatesarisk
