Subject: Rocking Chute Ice Delivery Switch Adjustment
SCOPE
Excessive ice dispensing from a rocking chute ice delivery system may be the
result of an ice delivery switch being out of adjustment. A switch that is out of
adjustment can cause the paddle wheel motor to come on too soon. This
results in the gear motor running prematurel y, before the rocking chute doo r is
fully open, preloading extra ice behind the door which results in excessive ice
delivery . If you are having ice delivery issues of this na ture the following
instructions will guide you in making the necessary adjustment in order to
correct the problem.
ACTION
1. To properly adjust the switch, first unplug the power co rd to the unit the n
remove the merchandiser. This will give you access to the ice delivery
switch located on the left side of the rocking chute. (See Figure 1)
2. Begin by observing the chute by slowly pushing against the rocking chute.
When the ice delivery switch clicks, measure the distance from the door
stops on the rocking chute bracket to the door . (See Figu re 2)

4. The left side of the rocking chute has a tab that pushes u p on the ice
delivery switch. T o adjust it, use needle nose pliers and bend the arm of the
switch up or down in order to change the point where the tab makes
