SLOPE OPERATION
Slopesare a majorfactorrelatedto lossofcontrolandtip-overaccidents whichcan resultinsevereinjuryordeath.Attachmentscanalsoaffectthe
stabilityofthe machine.All slopesrequireextracaution. Foryoursafety,usethe slopeguideincludedas partof this manualto
estimatetheangle of slopesbeforeoperatingthismachineona slopedor hilly area.Iftheslope isgreaterthan 10degreesas shownonthe slopeguide,do
notoperatethe mowerwiththe grassbagattachmentinstalledonthat areaor seriousinjurycouldresult.
DO:
1. Mowupanddownslopes,not across.Exerciseextremecautionwhen changingdirectiononslopes.
2. Watchforholes,ruts,bumps,rocks,or otherhiddenobjects. Uneven terraincouldoverturnthe machine.Tallgrasscan hideobstacles.
3. Useslowspeed.Choosea lowenoughspeedsettingsothat youwill not haveto stopor shiftwhileonthe slope.Tiresmaylosetractiononslopes
eventhoughthe brakesarefunctioningproperly.Alwayskeepmachine in gearwhengoingdownslopesto takeadvantageofenginebraking
action.
4. Followthe manufacturer'srecommendationsforwheelweightsor counterweightsto improvestability.Forrecommendations,contact
1-800-659-5917.
5. Keepall movementontheslopesslowand gradual.Do notmakesud- denchangesin speedor direction.Rapidengagementorbrakingcould causethefrontofthe machineto liftandrapidlyflip overbackwards
whichcouldcauseserious injury.
6. Avoidstartingor stoppingon a slope.If tires losetraction,disengagethe blade(s)andproceedslowlystraightdownthe slope.
DO NOT:
1. Do notturnon slopesunlessnecessary;then,turn slowlyand gradually downhill,ifpossible.
2. Do notmowneardrop-offs,ditchesor embankments.Themowercould suddenlyturnover if a wheelisoverthe edgeof a cliff,ditch,or if an
edgecavesin.
3. Do nottry to stabilizethe machinebyputtingyourfooton theground.
4. Do notusea grasscatcheronsteepslopes.
5. Do notmowonwetgrass.Reducedtractioncouldcausesliding.
GENERAL SERVICE
1. Beforecleaning,repairing,or inspecting,makecertainthe blade(s) andall movingpartshavestopped.Disconnectthe sparkplugwireand groundagainsttheenginetopreventunintendedstarting.
2. Keepallnuts, bolts,and screwstightto besurethe equipmentisin safe workingcondition.
3. Nevertamperwith yourmower'ssafetyinterlocksystemor othersafety devices.Checktheir properoperationregularly.
4. Neverattemptto makeadjustmentsorrepairswhilethemower'sengine is running.
5. Grasscatchercomponentsandthe dischargecoveraresubjectto wear anddamagewhichcouldexposemovingpartsor allowobjectsto be thrown.Forsafetyprotection,frequentlycheckcomponentsandreplace immediatelywith originalequipmentmanufacturer's(O.E.M.)partsonly,
listedinthis manual.Useof partswhichdonot meetthe originalequip- mentspecificationsmayleadto improperperformanceandcompromise safety!

AssembleMounting Brackets
Toassemblethebaggermountingassembly,locatethehitchbracket kitandfollowthesesteps:
1. Attachtheright-handandleft-handriderhitchbrackettothe universalrearattachmentbracketusingthefourcarriagebolts (710-0276)andflange locknuts(712-04063)fromhardware pack689-00097.Positionthe bracketswiththenotchesonthe right-handand left-handriderhitchbracketsandthetabsonthe universalrearattachmentbracket,pointingupwards.SeeFig.1.
NOTE:Thisuniversalmountingbracketassemblyisdesignedto workwithotheravailableattachments,suchasa weightkitusedin conjunctionwiththe snowbladeor snowthrowerattachment.Utilize thecontactinformationonthe backpage,orcontactthestorein whichyoupurchasedthisequipment,tofindoutmoreaboutavailable attachmentsforyourspecifictractor.

Flipoverassemblyandmountthehitchsupportbrackettothe mountingassemblyusingfour710-3008hex boltsand712-04063 flangelocknutsfromhardwarepack689-00097.See Fig.2 for properorientation.
NOTE:Whenattachingthehitchsupport,it is bestto notfullytighten thebracketatthistime. Thiswillfacilitatethe mountingprocessin latersteps,whichwillthenrequirefullytighteningof thishitchsupport
bracket.

AssemblingThe Bin Support Assembly
Locatetheuprightsupportbracketandthebinsupportassembly. Assembleitbyfollowingthesesteps:
1. Laythebin supportassemblytopsidedownwiththe mounting bracketportionfacingupwards.
2. Insertthenotchedendoftheverticalsupportbracketintothe bin supportassembly,asin Fig.4,andsecurewitha carriagebolt (710-0276)andflangelocknut(712-04063)packedinwiththe uprightsupportbracket.SeeFig.5.

Mount Assembly on Tractor
Installthe mountingassemblyonthe tractorasfollows:
1. Slidethebaggermountingassemblyalongthetopoftheframe rails,asin Fig.6,untiltheassemblyhooksundertheshoulder boltsonthe tractor.Atthis pointthe hitchsupportholeon the mountingassemblyandthe holeon thetractor'shitchplatewill lineup.

NOTE:Theclevispincanbe feddownthroughthehitchsupportand

Assembling Remaining Bagger Components
Nowthatthemountingbracketsareassembledandarein placeon thetractor,followthesestepsto assembletheremainingbagger components.
1. Snaptheupperchutesupportin placebyfirstclippingthe side portiononto thebin supportrailwiththe edgeof thesnapfeature alignedwiththeredline (1),asshowninthe insetof Fig.10.
2. Snapthefrontportionoftheupperchutesupporttothebin supportrailas seenin 2of Fig.10.
