Battery Powered Scenarios
Using the MSTronic Solar & POE Battery Charger
Version 2014-04-24
Introduction
This guide gives suggesetd ways of using the MSTronic Solar and Battery
Charger. Examples are given for both 24 and 48V POE applications.
Ubiquiti products generally fall into two categories
24 V POE Powered: These products actually are happy with any
voltage between 12 & 24V.
48V POE Powered: These products generally need between 39 & 57V.
In the scenarios below, the Solar & POE Battery Charger needs an external
DC power source. This is supplied by you, and can be any of the following:
Solar panel(s)
Wind generator
DC power source plugged into an AC supply
The figures that follow are just examples; there are many other possible
combinations.
Power Loading: Care should be taken in your design as to how much POE
power each device can supply. Please refer to the Ubiquiti datasheets.
For example, a Nanobeam-M5-19 consumes 8W of power.
