S-CAP
1. Tear open foil bag, take out and unfold S-CAP and remove bag with
drier.
2. Part the collar with both hands and pull the S-CAP over your head,
seating the inner mask against your nose and chin.
3. Grab pulling straps with both hands and pull to rear.
4. The S-CAP is in use. Breathe calmly, do not panic. Leave danger
area.

1. Abra o saco metalizado, retire e desenrole o S-CAP e retire o saco
de gel de sílica.

Safety Advice
The S-CAP is a product supporting life and health!
This manual must be carefully read, understood and followed by all
individuals who have or will have the responsibility for selecting and using
this product.
This manual contains instructions for the optimal use of the product as
well as important safety information.
Before use, the acting persons have to decide in accordance with this
manual, whether the product is suitable for the intended application.
Liability Information
The liability of MSA is excluded if the product is not used appropriately and
for the intended purpose. Choice and use are in the sole responsibility of
the acting persons.
Warranties also as guarantees made by MSA with respect to the product
are voided, if it is not used in accordance with the instructions in this
manual.
The above corresponds to the terms and conditions of sale regarding the
warranty and liability of MSA. It does not alter them.

1. Description and Ordering Information
The products described in these Instructions for Use are in accordance with
Regulation 89/686/EEC. These Instructions for Use apply to MSA filtering smoke
hoods according to EN 403:2004.

2. Selection and Use
Filtering smoke hoods are used exclusively for self-rescue in case of fire. They
are intended for one-time use only and for short duration.
Filtering smoke hoods are respiratory protective devices dependent on the
ambient air and do not protect against oxygen deficiency.
Users with facial hair like beards or sideburns or anomalies in the face are not
likely to achieve a tight fit since the facepiece-to-face fit may be broken. This
may also occur in the case of extreme face sizes (e.g. children) or face shapes.
Due to its wide design, the S-CAP is also suited for persons wearing spectacles.
3. Donning
Remove S-CAP from box, resp. pack and don according to Fig. 1- 4.
4. Storage, Storage Life
The S-CAP is stored in cool, dry and clean ambient air. Do not open box or pack
or foil bag prior to use. In case of damaged or opened foil bag, replace S-CAP.
The end of storage life is indicated on the device (hourglass).
At the end of the storage life contact MSA to determine if it can be extended.

1. Beschreibung und Bestellangaben
Die in dieser Gebrauchsanleitung beschriebenen Geräte entsprechen der Richtlinie 89/686/EWG. Diese Gebrauchsanleitung gilt für die folgenden MSA AUERBrandfluchthauben gemäß EN 403:2004.

2. Auswahl und Gebrauch
Brandfluchthauben dienen ausschließlich zur Selbstrettung im Brandfall. Sie
sind nur zum einmaligen Gebrauch von kurzer Dauer vorgesehen.
Brandfluchthauben sind von der Umgebungsluft abhängige Atemschutzgeräte
und schützen nicht vor Sauerstoffmangel. Die S-CAP schützt Kopf, Augen und
Atmung gegen Brandgase, Brandgeruch und Kohlenmonoxid. Personen mit
Bärten, Koteletten oder Anomalien im Bereich der Maskendichtlinie müssen
erwarten, daß kein dichter Sitz erreicht werden kann. Dies kann auch bei
extremen Gesichtsgrößen (z.B. Kindern) und Gesichtsformen auftreten.
Aufgrund der weitgeschnittenen Haube ist S-CAP auch für Brillenträger geeignet.
3. Anwendung
S-CAP aus der Mitführverpackung bzw. Wandbox entnehmen und gemäß
Bild 1 - 4 anlegen.
4. Lagerung, Lagerzeit
S-CAP kühl, trocken und in sauberer Umgebungsluft lagern. Mitführverpackung
und Folienbeutel vor Benutzung nicht öffnen.
Bei beschädigtem oder geöffnetem Folienbeutel Gerät durch einwandfreie
S-CAP ersetzen.
Ablauf der Lagerzeit ist auf dem Gerät angegeben (Symbol Sanduhr).
Zum Ablauf der Lagerzeit MSA AUER-Kundendienst informieren.
Der Kundendienst kann prüfen, ob die Lagerzeit verlängert werden kann.

1. Descripción e información para pedidos
Los productos descritos en estas instrucciones de uso cumplen con la Directiva
89/686/CEE. Estas instrucciones de uso se refieren a los capuces filtrantes

2. Selección y uso
Los capuces filtrantes para escape se utilizan exclusivamente para autosalvamento en caso de incendio. Son para un solo uso y de corta duración.
Los capuces filtrantes para escape son equipos de protección respiratoria
dependientes del aire ambiente y no protegen contra la deficiencia de oxígeno.
El S-CAP protege la cabeza, los ojos y vías respiratorias contra gases, humos
y monóxido de carbono en un incendio.
Los usuarios con barba o patillas abundantes o anomalías faciales posiblemente
no consigan un buen ajuste, ya que esto impedirá que se adapte bien a la cara.
También puede ocurrir lo mismo en caso de configuraciones y tamaños faciales
extremos (por ej.: niños).
Gracias a su amplio diseño, el S-CAP también es adecuado para personas
que utilicen gafas.
3. Cómo colocárselo
Sacar el S-CAP de su caja y proceder según se indica en Fig. 1 - 4.
4. Almacenado, vida útil en estantería
El S-CAP debe guardarse en un ambiente de aire fresco, seco y- limpio. No
abrir la caja o envase o bolsa metalizada de no ser para uso inmediato. En caso
de que la bolsa estuviese rota o abierta, no debe utilizarse, sustituirla por otra
nueva.
La caducidad de su vida útil en estantería se indica en el envase (reloj de
arena). Llegada la fecha de caducidad, consultar con MSA para determinar si
todavía está en buenas condiciones de uso posterior.
