Installation Instructions
The Mr. Gasket Throttle Return Spring Kit fits King, Race,
Speed and Road Demon carburetors, and is designed for
positive throttle return and added safety. This kit features a
custom return spring bracket that is notched to provide
adjustment for eight spring tension settings. The inner and
outer return springs are electro-lease nickel plated to resist
rust and extension fatigue.
1. Remove lock nut, bolt, spring and washer from accelerator
pump arm. Note: Before removing lock nut from bolt
measure amount of threads protruding up past lock nut
and record for future reinstallation reference.
2. Remove C-clip from accelerator pump arm pivot rod and
remove arm.
3. Install spring bracket between accelerator pump arms
forked section, bracket should resemble a lazy L and face
forward up through bottom of forked section, align holes
and slide bracket onto pivot rod and reinstall c-clip.
4. Reinstall accelerator pump arm bolt, spring, washer and
lock nut. Tighten lock nut to previously noted specification
from step #1.
5. Install flat washer and screw through backside of bracket
and install knurled knob into middle of bracket (return
spring groove to outside). Do not fully tighten.
6. Adjust knurled knob position (forward or rearward) to
achieve desired spring tension. Connect return springs
(inner/outer) to accelerator lever and knurled knob, (be
sure knob is inserted into desired notch in return spring
bracket) and tighten screw securely.
