INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
CHROME PLATED VALVE COVERS – Mr. Gasket Part No. 9415
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE BEGINNING INSTALLATION. MAKE SURE ENGINE, RADIATOR AND ALL COMPONENTS ARE COOL BEFORE
STARTING. NOTE: ON SOME APPLICATIONS, IT MAY BE NECESSARY TO REMOVE OR DISCONNECT VARIOUS AUXILIARY ENGINE COMPONENTS TO
PROVIDE CLEARANCE FOR VALVE COVER INSTALLATION.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Mr. Gasket Chrome Plated Valve Covers are a direct
replacement for factory inner rail design valve covers on
1987 & up Chevrolet Small Block engines. Grommets
and oil filler cap are included.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
Step 1
Remove PCV valve(s), sir cleaner breather tube and
hold-down bolts from center of valve covers. NOTE: It is
recommended to replace existing valve cover gaskets to ensure a positive seal. Use Mr. Gasket Part
No. 168 or 5867.
Step 2
Install provided grommets into valve covers and place
into cylinder heads. Two hole design fits driver’s side
and one hole design fits passenger side.

Step 3
Insert hold-down bolts into mounting holes, starting
with the two center bolts. Tighten to manufacturer’s
specifications. NOTE: Use Mr. Gasket Part No. 9822 to
replace existing factory mounting hardware.
Step 4
Re-install PCV valve(s), air cleaner breather tube and oil
fill cap.
Step 5
Replace any auxiliary engine components that may have
been removed.
