Congratulations! You are the owner of The 3 Quart Iced Tea Pot by Mr. Coffee. This unique appliance has been designed to provide you with excellent tasting iced tea quickly and conveniently.
Our specially designed steeping basket keeps tea immersed in hot water to extract the full flavor from your tea. The tea then drips down into the pitcher filled with ice to chill. As a result, you get brewed iced tea every time.
The 3 Quart Iced Tea Pot will automatically shut-off when the brewing is completed. When the tea is all gone, the pitcher and lid store over the top of the
machine and the cord wraps around the machine to save valuable counter
space.
To insure the long life of this appliance and its trouble-free operation, please
read all of the instructions in this booklet carefully before you begin to use this appliance. Save these instructions and refer to them often for cleaning and care tips.

Helpful Hints
1. Use more or less tea or coffee to suit your taste. Additional tea bags may be needed when using herbal tea.
2. If your ice supply is low, you can substitute with cold tap water. After filling the water reservoir with the proper amount of water, refill the
pitcher with cold tap water a second time to the desired 1, 2 or 3 quart
WATER level. Refrigerate to chill.
3. Tea may turn cloudy as it chills due to the tannic acids found in tea.
Higher quality teas will contain more tannic acids than others. Using less tea will reduce the cloudiness.
4. For extra flavor, try adding several bags of herbal or flavored tea to your brew.
5. For excellent iced coffee, try dark roast coffee or any other flavored coffee.

Problem Solving
The tea is too weak:
-
add more tea.
-
herbal tea does not brew as strong, you may need to use more tea.
-
after the machine shuts off, wait for a few minutes before draining the
remaining tea into the pitcher.
-check to make sure the steeping dial is in the closed position during
brewing so that the tea steeps.
The tea is too strong:
-
use less tea.
-the tea may be steeping too long. Be sure to drain the remaining tea in the steeping basket by turning the steeping dial to “open” as soon as the machine shuts off.
I do not have enough ice:
-
use cold tap water as a substitute. See Helpful Hint #2 on page 6.

Problem Solving (cont.)
The machine will not turn on:

is the cord plugged in?
-
check to insure that the pushbutton is fully depressed.

the machine may need to be cleaned. See the “Deliming is a Must” section
below on page 9.
-
wait 3 minutes minimum (unit must cool down before starting another brew
(cycle) and try again.
Daily Care
1.
To maintain the quality of all parts and minimize tea stains, we recommend washing the pitcher, pitcher lid, steeping basket and steeping basket lid with warm water and mild detergent, regularly.
2.
Hard water can leave a whitish mineral deposit inside the pitcher and steeping basket. Tea and coffee discolors these deposits. To remove, fill the basket and pitcher with warm white vinegar and let it soak for about 20 minutes.
3.
Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners. They will cause scratches which can lead to breakage.
Deliming is a Must
The Iced Tea Pot must be delimed when you begin to notice an increase in steaming or if the pumping action stops before all the water has been pumped out of the machine.
The
frequency of cleaning depends on the hardness of water used. Listed below
are the suggested cleaning intervals.
SUGGESTED CLEANING INTERVAL
