Your new LMX Series Coffeemaker will wake up with you in the morning and provide you tasty breaks during your hectic daily activities. How you enjoy your MR. COFFEE® Dishwashable* Coffeemaker is up to you!

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should

outlet (for appliances with detachable cords). To disconnect, turn any control to the off position, then remove plug from wall outlet.

14. All lids should be closed during use.

15. Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during or immediately after the brewing cycles. Contents may be hot. Allow to cool before opening the lid.

16. The container is designed for use with this appliance. It must never be used on a range top.

17. Do not set a hot container on a wet or cold surface.

18. Avoid sudden temperature changes, such as rinsing, washing,

ﬁlling, or immersing a hot container with cold liquids.

19. Do not use a cracked or chipped container or a container having a loose or weakened handle.

20. Do not clean container with cleansers, steel wool pads, or other abrasive material.

Polarized plug

This appliance has a polarized plug, (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature to reduce the risk of electrical shock,

this plug is intended to ﬁt in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not ﬁt fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not ﬁt, contact a qualiﬁed electrician. Do not

attempt to defeat this safety feature or modify the plug in any way. If

the plug ﬁts loosely into the AC outlet or if the AC outlet feels warm

do not use that outlet.

A short power supply cord (or detachable power-supply cord) may be provided to reduce risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use. If a long detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used:

a. The marked electrical rating of the detachable power-supply cord or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance;

b. If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding type 3-wire cord; and

c. The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter top or table where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.

GETTING STARTED

Unpack your Coffeemaker

1. Unpack your coffeemaker and remove plastic bags, cartons and any tape on the unit.

IMPORTANT: KEEP PLASTIC BAGS AWAY FROM CHILDREN.

Clean Coffeemaker Before Use

Just follow these simple steps:

SETTING THE CLOCK

Plug in the coffeemaker and set the current time using the hour and minute buttons. 5 seconds of inactivity will set clock at time selected.

1. Remove the carafe (dishwashable) from the coffeemaker.

4. Remove lid (dishwashable) from top half of the coffeemaker.

CAUTION: The electrical base, power cord, and plug are not dishwasher safe and should not be immersed in water or other liquids.

NOTE: Advanced Water Filtration holder (sold separately) is dishwasher safe. Advanced Water Filtration Cartidges are not, do not place them in the dishwasher.

5. Rotate the showerhead in order to remove the brew basket.

3. Remove removable top half

(dishwashable) from the base of the coffeemaker.

6. Remove brew basket (dishwashable) and place all four dishwashable components in dishwasher.

NOTE: For thorough cleaning of the showerhead, open up the showerhead.

FILTRATION

(Not included with all models)

The improved 2-step advanced water ﬁltration system reduces impurities

like chlorine and calcium to make coffee taste better.

1. Soak the advanced water ﬁltration cartridge in cold water for 5 minutes.

2. Rinse the soaked cartridge for about 1 minute.

3. Open bottom hatch where the cartridge goes and insert a new

Advanced Water Filtration cartridge. (Figure 1)

4. Close the hatch and place system in designated slot in water reservoir. (Figure 2)

5. After 30 days (or 30 uses), replace the Advanced Water Filtration cartridge. Cartridges can be purchased online at mrcoffee.com.

NOTE: When cleaning the coffeemaker, be sure to remove the Advanced Water Filtration holder and cartridge.

HOW TO MAKE YOUR FIRST

Suggested Coffee Measurement Chart:

For best results, brew 4 or more cups of coffee.

Water To Brew Ground Coffee

12 cups = 60 oz. 12 tbs.

10 cups = 50 oz. 10 tbs.

8 cups = 40 oz. 8 tbs.

6 cups = 30 oz. 6 tbs.

4 cups = 20 oz. 4 tbs.

Bonus: For a BOLDER CUP,

use heaping tablespoons.

1. Fill the carafe with fresh cold water to the desired level. 1 Mr. Coffee “cup” is

equivalent to 5 ﬂuid ounces.

Pour into Water Reservoir.

2. Insert and line the Removable Filter Basket with a standard 12-cup basket style paper

coffee ﬁlter (sold separately) or a reusable ﬁlter (not included

in all models).

3. Referencing the chart to the left, use a tablespoon to measure out the equivalent amount of coffee grounds into

the ﬁlter.

4. You are ready to Brew Now! NOTE: Some water will be

absorbed into the coffee

grounds and water ﬁlter

during the brewing process.

5. After brew cycle is complete, the coffeemaker will keep coffee warm for 4 hours before automatically shutting off.

1. After ﬁlling the

coffeemaker with water and grounds, press the Brew Now button to brew instantly.

2. Brew Now indicator will illuminate.

3. “Warmer On” will illuminate on the display to indicate warming plate is on. The warming plate will stay on for up to 4 hours. The coffeemaker will beep to signal the end of the brew cycle.

NOTE: Push Brew Now button prior to 4 hours to turn the coffee maker off early.

1. Press Brew Later. The

display ﬂashes “12:00 AM”.

To set desired brew time, press the Hour and Minute buttons. 5 Seconds of inactivity will set clock at time selected.

2. The Brew Later indicator will light up, showing that the coffee maker is pre-set to brew at a later time.

If you change your mind and wish to turn off the Brew Later feature, simply press the Brew Later button again and it will turn off.

Once the Brew Later time is set, the coffeemaker will automatically remember it until you change it or unplug the machine.

NOTE: As a reminder, if you want to continue to use the Brew Later feature, you will have to press Brew Later each time. Your coffee maker will not automatically start again the next day.

TWO WAYS TO CLEAN

DECALCIFYING

A clean coffeemaker allows you to achieve better tasting coffee each and every time. This unique coffeemaker makes thorough cleaning a breeze with four easy dishwasher safe parts. It is equipped with an internal cleaning cycle to remove any calcium buildup.

(1) Routine Dishwashing

• Daily/Weekly

• Removes coffee residue, oils and moisture

• Four dishwashable parts: removable lid, removable brew basket, drip free carafe, and removable top half.

(2) Monthly Cleaning Cycle

• Please see “Decalcifying” on the next page for detailed instructions.

Decalcifying your MR. COFFEE® Dishwashable Coffeemaker

Minerals (calcium/limestone) found in water will leave deposits in your

coffeemaker and affect its performance. It’s recommended that you regularly remove these deposits using vinegar.

1. IMPORTANT: Remove the advanced water ﬁltration system from the coffeemaker.

2. Prepare 4 cups or 20 ﬂ. oz. / 592ml of undiluted, white household

vinegar. Pour the vinegar into the water reservoir.

3. Place an empty 12 cup basket-style paper ﬁlter or MR. COFFEE® reusable ﬁlter into the ﬁlter basket and close the coffeemaker’s lid.

Place the empty carafe back in the unit, centered on the warming plate.

5. Press the Clean button.

The coffeemaker will run a slow clean cycle and shut off.

7. Discard the cleaning solution and rinse the carafe thoroughly with clean water.

8. Fill the water reservoir with 12 cups of clean, fresh water.

9. Place the empty carafe back on the coffeemaker, centered on the

warming plate.

10. Remove and discard the paper ﬁlter used during the cleaning cycle. If a MR. COFFEE® reusable ﬁlter was used during cleaning, remove it and rinse it thoroughly before replacing it in the ﬁlter basket.

11. Press Brew Now and allow the full brew cycle to complete, rinsing the coffeemaker with hot water.

12. Discard the water and rinse the carafe thoroughly with clean water.

13. Repeat steps 8 through 12 one more time, to ensure it is fully rinsed.

BREW THE PERFECT CUP

Paper Filters vs. Reusable Filters

PAPER FILTERS: To achieve a smoother, less bitter cup of coffee, use a

paper ﬁlter. It will be most effective in trapping bitter sediments. REUSABLE FILTERS: For a more robust and full taste, use a reusable ﬁlter.

It will allow the coffee’s full ﬂavor to ﬁll your cup. Reusable ﬁlters have tiny

holes that allow rich coffee oils to brew through.

Water

While it may not seem like an important ingredient, coffee is 98 percent

water. The type of water that you brew with greatly affects the ﬁnal taste. Always use clean, fresh water that is ﬁltered and free of impurities – avoid

soft water or well water. Please refer to the “Advanced Water Filtration” section to learn more about how your coffeemaker reduces impurities in water.

This appliance has no user serviceable parts. Any servicing beyond that described in the Cleaning Section should be performed by an Authorized Service Representative only.

Follow the instructions below to reduce or eliminate the chance of breaking the glass carafe:

• Discard the carafe immediately if it is ever cracked.

• Protect the carafe from sharp blows, scratches or rough handling. Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners that may scratch the carafe. Scratches may cause the carafe to break.

Enchufe polarizado

Este aparato cuenta con un enchufe polarizado (un contacto es más ancho que el otro). Como una característica de seguridad para reducir el riesgo de descarga eléctrica, este enchufe está diseñado para encajar en un tomacorriente polarizado solo de una manera.

Si el enchufe no encaja completamente en el tomacorriente, invierta el

enchufe. Si aún no encaja, consulte a un electricista caliﬁcado. No intente ignorar esta característica de seguridad ni modiﬁcar el enchufe

de manera alguna. Si el enchufe encaja holgadamente en el tomacorriente de corriente alterna o si el tomacorriente de corriente alterna se siente caliente, no utilice ese tomacorriente.

mostrador o de la mesa para evitar que un niño tire del mismo o que alguien se tropiece sin darse cuenta.

ANTES DEL PRIMER USO

Desempaque su cafetera

1. Desempaque su cafetera y retire todas las bolsas plásticas, cartones y cualquier etiqueta adherida a la unidad.

Limpie la Cafetera antes de Usar

Siga estos pasos sencillos:

1. Retire la jarra (lavable en lavaplatos) de la cafetera.

4. Retire la cesta de preparación (lavable en lavaplatos) y coloque las cuatro piezas lavables en lavaplatos, en el lavaplatos.

2. Retire la tapa (lavable en lavaplatos) de la mitad superior.

5. Mueva el interruptor hacia el icono de desbloqueo para separar la mitad superior de la base de la cafetera.

3. Gire el distribuidor de agua para retirar la cesta de preparación.

6. Retire la mitad superior (lavable en lavaplatos) de la base de la cafetera.

Enchufe la cafetera y ﬁje la hora actual usando los botones de hora y minutos. 5 segundos de actividad ﬁjará el reloj a la hora seleccionada.

SISTEMA DE FILTRACIÓN DE

AGUA AVANZADO

El sistema de ﬁltración de agua avanzado de 2 pasos reduce impurezas

como el cloro y el calcio para hacer que el café sepa mejor.

1. Remoje el cartucho del dispositivo de ﬁltración de agua avanzado en

agua fría por 5 minutos.

2. Enjuague el cartucho remojado por aproximadamente 1 minuto.

3. Abra el compartimento inferior donde va el cartucho e inserte un

Una cafetera limpia le permite lograr un café más sabroso cada vez. Esta cafetera exclusiva permite la limpieza a fondo sin esfuerzo con cuatro piezas aptas para el lavaplatos. La cafetera está equipada con un ciclo de limpieza interno para eliminar la acumulación de calcio.

• Elimina los residuos de café, aceites y la humedad

• Cuatro piezas aptas para el lavaplatos: tapa extraíble, cesta de preparación extraíble, jarra antigoteo y mitad superior extraíble

Descalcificación de su Cafetera Lavable en Lavaplatos MR. COFFEE

Los minerales (calcio/caliza) encontrados en el agua dejará depósitos en su

cafetera y esto afectará su rendimiento. Es recomendado que elimine regularmente estos depósitos con vinagre.

1. IMPORTANTE: Retire el dispositivo del sistema de ﬁltración de agua

avanzado de la cafetera.

2. Prepare 4 tazas ó 20 onzas ﬂuidas / 592 ml de vinagre doméstico no

diluido. Vierta el vinagre en el depósito de agua.

3. Coloque un ﬁltro vacío de papel para 12 tazas, estilo cesta o un ﬁltro reusable de marca MR. COFFEE® en la cesta del ﬁltro y cierre la tapa

de la cafetera.

4. Coloque la jarra vacía en la cafetera, centrada sobre la placa de calentamiento.

5. Presione el botón de limpieza.

6. La cafetera realizará lentamente un ciclo de limpieza y se apagará.

7. Deseche la solución de limpieza y enjuague bien la cafetera con

agua limpia.

8. Llene el depósito de agua con 12 tazas de agua fresca y limpia.

9. Coloque de nuevo la jarra vacía en la cafetera, centrada sobre la placa

de calentamiento.

10. Retire y deseche el ﬁltro de papel usado durante el ciclo de limpieza. Si el ﬁltro reusable de marca MR. COFFEE® fue usado durante la

limpieza, retírelo y enjuague bien antes de volver a colocar en la cesta

del ﬁltro.

11. Presione el botón de la función de preparar ahora y permita que el ciclo completo de preparación termine, enjuagando la cafetera con agua caliente.

12. Deseche el agua y enjuague bien la cafetera con agua limpia.

13. Repita los pasos 8 al 12 una vez más para asegurar que este bien

enjuagada.

Su cafetera ahora está limpia y lista para preparar la próxima jarra de ¡café caliente, delicioso!

Filtros de Papel en Comparación con Filtros Reusables

FILTROS DE PAPEL: Para lograr una taza de café más suave y menos

amarga, utilice un ﬁltro de papel. Éste será muy efectivo para atrapar los

sedimentos amargos. FILTROS REUSABLES: Para un café más robusto y lleno de sabor, utilice

un ﬁltro reusable. Éste le permitirá llenar su taza con puro sabor de café. Los ﬁltros reusables están diseñados con oriﬁcios pequeños que permiten

colar los aceites de café, ricos en sabor.

Agua

Aunque no aparenta ser un ingrediente importante, el café es 98% agua. El tipo de agua que usted use para la preparación tendrá un gran impacto

en el sabor ﬁnal. Siempre use agua limpia y fresca, ﬁltrada y libre de impurezas – evite usar agua suave o agua de pozo. Por favor consulte la

sección de “Sistema de Filtración de Agua Avanzado” para informarse más sobre como su cafetera reduce las impurezas en el agua.
