Warning:
To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not remove any service covers. No user serviceable parts inside. Repair should be done by authorized personnel only. Opening the bottom service cover will void the warranty.

1. A sho rt power supply co rd is p rovided t o red uce the hazard s resulting fro m becoming entangled in or trip p ing o ver a longer cord.
2. An extension cord may be p urchased and used if care is exercised in its use.
3. If an extensio n co rd is used , the marked electrical rat ing o f the extensio n co rd must b e at least 10 amps and 120 volts. The resulting extend ed cord must be arranged so that it will no t drap e over the co unt ertop or tab letop where it can be pulled o n b y children o r trip p ed o ver accid ent ally.

SETTING UP YOUR COFFEEMAKER

Pro p er use, care and maintenance w ill ensure troub le-free operation and the lo ng life of this appliance. Save these instructions fo r cleaning and, if necessary, replacement parts informatio n.
OPERATION AND USE
BEFORE FIRST USE
Before using your Coffeemaker for the first time, w ash d ecanter/lid and removable brew b asket using a mild , no n-abrasive d etergent and w at er. Rinse each thoro ughly. Follo w Step s 4 – 6 (Brew ing Coffee) using water, to clean the inside.

BREWING COFFEE
1. Op en t he swing-out brew basket . Insert a MR. COFFEE®#2 Co ne Filter into the removable b rew basket.
2. Ad d d esired amount of coffee, referring to the Coffee Measurement Chart. (See Page 7) Shake lightly to level coffee.
3. Be sure the paper filter is centered before closing the brew b asket .
4. Fill the decanter w ith cold w ater to d esired capacity as marked on t he side of the decanter (1 cup = 5 oz). To brew 4 cups of coffee, fill the decanter to the 4-cup level marking o n the decant er.
5. Po ur t he w ater into the w at er reservo ir. to cup markings inside the reservoir. Place the empty decanter o nto the warming plate.
6. Plug the cord into the electrical outlet and t urn your Coffeemaker switch to the “ON” posit io n. When the co ffee sto p s flo w ing, the brewing cycle is comp lete.
Note:
The w arming plate will keep yo ur coffee p iping hot until you turn yo ur
Coffeemaker o ff.
7. Aft er contents have cooled, carefully remove t he o ne-piece brew b asket and discard the used grounds and filter. Rinse the inner brew b asket and replace.
Note:
Remove decanter fro m the warming p late b efore opening the brew
basket. This will prevent the drip stop valve fro m catching on t he d ecanter lid.
8. To make another p o t o f co ffee, repeat Steps 1 – 7.

Be sure to turn your Coffeemaker o ff when the decanter is empty and yo u are no longer using yo ur Coffeemaker. Please unp lug the pow er cord w hen not in use.
Warning:
To avoid risk of personal injury or damage to property as a result of overflow, the brew basket during the brewing cycle. Brewed coffee and grounds, bot h in brew basket and decanter, are very hot . Handle with care to avoid scalding. If brew basket overflows, or if brew basket fails t o drain int o decant er during brew cycle, do not open or handle basket. Unplug Coffeemaker and wait for contents to cool before handling.

Our Brew ing Pause ‘n Serve feature allows you up to 30 second s to pour a cup while the coffee is still b rew ing. It also prevents any remaining coffee in t he b rew basket from d ripping onto the w arming plate once b rew cycle is complet e.

Yo ur Coffeemaker must be cleaned when you b egin to notice excessive steaming or t he b rew ing t ime increases co nsid erably. This cond it io n is caused b y a build -up of lime and mineral deposits fro m your water. If t he p ump ing act io n sto p s before all t he water has been p umped out o f the machine, the appliance req uires cleaning.
The freq uency o f cleaning d epends o n the hardness of water used. The follo w ing t ab le gives a suggested cleaning schedule.

Yo ur Coffeemaker may be cleaned b y using MR. COFFEE®Cleaner is availab le at many retail sto res or b y calling t he Sunbeam Consumer Service Dep artment at 1-800-MR COFFEE ( 1-800-672-6333) .
To prevent injury from hot overflow, replace decanter within 30 seconds if removed during brewing. If t he decanter is not replaced wit hin 30 seconds, the filt er basket will fill with water and overflow.
