Regulatory Information
Regulatory Information
Your Motorola mobile device is designed to comply with nationaland internationalregulatory requirements. For fullcompliance statements and details, please refer to the regulatoryinformation in your printed productguide.
Specific Absorption Rate (FCC & IC)
SAR (FCC & IC)
YOUR MOBILE DEVICE MEETS FCC AND IC LIMITS FOR EXPOSURE TORADIO WAVES.
Your mobile device is a radio transmitter and receiver. It isdesigned not to exceed the limitsfor exposure to radio waves (radio frequency electromagnetic fields)adopted by the FederalCommunicationsCommission (FCC) and Industry Canada (IC). These limits include asubstantial safety margindesigned toassure the safety of allpersons, regardless of age andhealth. The radiowave exposure guidelines use a unit of measurement known as the Specific Absorption Rate, orSAR. The SAR limit for mobiledevices is 1.6W/kg.
TestsforSAR are conducted using standardoperating positions with the device transmittingat itshighest certified power levelin all tested frequency bands. The highest SAR valuesunder the FCC and IC guidelines for your device model are listed below:
Head SAR2.4 GHz WiFi,Bluetooth0.89W/kg
Body-worn SARWCDMA850, WiFi,Bluetooth0.59W/kg
During use, the actual SAR values for your device are usuallywell belowthe values stated.Thisisbecause, for purposes of system efficiency and to minimizeinterference on the network, the operating power of your mobile device is automaticallydecreased when fullpower is not needed for the call. The lower the power outputof the device, the lower its SAR value.
If you are interestedinfurther reducing yourRF exposure then you can easily doso bylimiting yourusageor simply usinga hands-free kit to keep thedeviceawayfrom theheadand body.Additionalinformation can be found at

Hearing Aid Compatibility in the US
Hearing Aid Compatibility
Inthe US, specifichearing aid compatibility (HAC) performanceratings can help clarify how certain wirelessphones and hearing aidsmay perform together. HAC compliant wirelessphonesare capable of working with hearing aids that have a minimal immunity rating ofat least 2. The immunity rating indicateshow susceptible a hearing aid is to picking up interference fromadigitalwireless phone.Itcan rate the performance ofthe hearing aid for either microphone and/ortelecoilcoupling. Some hearing aids are more immune than others tothis interference noise, and phones alsovary in the amount of interference they generate. The USperformanceratingsystem for HAC compliant wirelessphones is asfollows:The “M”(microphone) indicates thatthe product hasbeen tested and rated for acoustic coupling. The “T” (telecoil) represents thatthe product has beentestedand rated forinductive coupling. The higher the “M”or “T”rating, the lesslikely the hearing aid user willexperience interference when the hearing aidis set to the respective microphone ortelecoilmode. The highest values to date are 3 and 4(e.g., “M4”or“M3/T3”).
Todetermine ifaproduct is rated for HAC, please look forthe HAC ratingor logoon thephone’s packaging.Foralistof current HAC models, visit
www.motorola.com/hacphones
Results will varydepending on the user’shearing aid and hearing loss.If yourhearing aid happensto be vulnerable tointerference, you may notbe able touse a rated phone successfully. Trying out the phone with your hearing device isthe best way toevaluate it foryour personal needs. To couple the device to your telecoil equipped hearing aid, switch yourhearing aid tothe “T” ortelecoil setting. Then, enable the ‘Hearing Aid’ mode feature on your
