Specific Absorption Rate(FCC & IC)
SAR (FCC & IC)
YOUR MOBILE DEVICEMEETS FCC AND IC LIMITSFOR EXPOSURE TO RADIO WAVES.
Your mobile device is a radio transmitter and receiver. It isdesigned not to exceed the limitsfor exposure to radio waves (radio frequency electromagnetic fields)adopted by the FederalCommunicationsCommission (FCC) and Industry Canada (IC). These limits include asubstantial safety margindesigned toassure the safety of allpersons, regardless of age andhealth. The radiowave exposure guidelines use a unit of measurement known as the Specific Absorption Rate, orSAR. The SAR limit for mobiledevices is 1.6W/kg.
TestsforSAR are conducted using standardoperating positions with the device transmittingat itshighest certified power levelin all tested frequency bands. The highest SAR valuesunder the FCC and IC guidelines for your device model are listed below:
Head SARWCDMA 8500 MHz Wi-Fi,
Body-worn SARWCDMA 1900 MHz,Wi-Fi,
During use, the actual SAR values for your device are usuallywell belowthe values stated.Thisisbecause, for purposes of system efficiency and to minimizeinterference on the network, the operating power of your mobile device is automaticallydecreased when fullpower is not needed for the call. The lower the power outputof the device, the lower its SAR value.
If you are interestedinfurther reducing yourRF exposure then you can easily doso bylimiting yourusageor simply usinga hands-free kit to keep thedeviceawayfrom theheadand body.Additionalinformation can be found at

Hearing Aid Compatibility in the US
Hearing Aid Compatibility
In the US, specifichearing aid compatibility (HAC) performance ratingscan help clarify how certain wirelessphonesand hearing aidsmay performtogether. HAC compliant wirelessphones are capable of working with hearing aids thathave a minimal immunity rating ofat least2. The immunity rating indicateshow susceptible a hearing aidis to picking up interference fromadigital wireless phone. It can rate the performance of the hearing aid for eithermicrophone and/ortelecoilcoupling.Some hearing aidsare more immune than others tothisinterference noise, and phonesalso vary in the amount of interference they generate. The US performance ratingsystem for HAC compliant wirelessphones is asfollows:The “M”(microphone) indicates thatthe product has beentested and rated for acoustic coupling. The “T” (telecoil) represents thatthe product hasbeen tested and rated for inductive coupling. The higher the “M” or“T” rating, the less likelythe hearing aid user willexperience interference when the hearing aid isset to the respective microphoneor telecoilmode. The highest values to date are 3 and 4 (e.g.,“M4”or “M3/T3”).Todetermine ifaproductis rated for HAC, please look for the HAC ratingor logoon the phone’s packaging. For alist of current HAC models, visit
www.motorola.com/hacphones
Results will varydepending on the user’s hearing aid and hearing loss. If your hearing aid happensto be vulnerable tointerference, you may not be abletouse a rated phone
