When placing orreceiving a phone call, hold your mobile device justlike youwould a
landline phone.
•
If you wear the mobile device on yourbody, ensure that the device is positioned at least
2.5cm (1inch) away from the body, andif youuse an accessory case or holder, ensure it is
free of any metal.
RF Energy Interference/Compatibility
Nearly everyelectronic device is subject toRF energy interference fromexternal sources ifinadequately shielded, designed, or otherwise configured for RFenergycompatibility. Insome circumstances, your mobile device maycause interference with other devices.
Follow Instructions to Avoid Interference Problems
Turnoff yourmobile device inany locationwhere posted notices instruct you todoso, suchashospitals orhealth care facilities. In an aircraft, turn offyour mobile device wheneverinstructed to do so byairline staff. If yourmobile device offers an airplanemode or similar feature, consultairline staff aboutusing it inflight.

Specific Absorption Rate (FCC &IC)
SAR (FCC & IC)
YOUR MOBILE DEVICE MEETSFCC AND ICLIMITSFOR EXPOSURE TO RADIOWAVES.
Your mobile device is aradio transmitter and receiver. It is designed not toexceed the limitsforexposure to radiowaves (radiofrequency electromagnetic fields) adopted bythe Federal CommunicationsCommission (FCC) and Industry Canada (IC). These limits include asubstantial safety margin designed toassure the safety of allpersons, regardless of age andhealth.
The radiowave exposure guidelinesuse a unitof measurement known as the SpecificAbsorption Rate, orSAR. The SARlimit for mobiledevices is 1.6W/kg.Tests for SAR are conducted using standard operating positions with the device transmitting at its highest certified power levelin all tested frequency bands. The highest SARvalues under the FCC and IC guidelinesforyour device model are listed below:
Head SARLTE Band 25, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth1.43W/kg
Body-worn SARCDMA 800Wi-Fi, Bluetooth0.34W/kg
During use, the actual SAR values for your device are usuallywell belowthe values stated. This is because, forpurposesofsystem efficiency and to minimize interference on the network, the operating power of yourmobile device is automaticallydecreased when fullpower is not needed for the call. The lower the power output of the device, the lower its SAR value. If you are interested infurther reducingyourRF exposure then you can easily doso bylimiting yourusage or simply using ahands-free kit to keep the device awayfrom the headand body.

Hearing Aid Compatibility with Mobile Phones
Hearing Aid Compatibility
SomeMotorolaphones are measured for compatibility with hearing aids. If the box for yourparticular model has “Rated forHearing Aids” printed onit, the following explanation applies.
When some mobile phones are used nearsome hearing devices (hearing aids and cochlearimplants), users may detect a buzzing, humming,or whining noise. Some hearing devicesare more immune than otherstothis interference noise, and phones also vary in the amountof interference they generate. The wirelesstelephone industry has developedratings for some of their mobile phones, toassist hearing device users in finding phones thatmaybe compatible with their hearing devices. Not all phones have been rated. Phones thatare rated have the rating on their box oralabel onthe box. To maintain the published Hearing Aid Compatibility (HAC)rating for thismobile phone, use onlythe original equipment batterymodel. This phone has been tested and rated for use with hearing aids for some of the wirelesstechnologies that it uses. However, there maybe some newer wirelesstechnologies used inthis phone that havenot been tested yet for use withhearing aids. It isimportant to try the different features of this phone thoroughly and in different locations, using your hearing aid or cochlear implant, to determine if you hear any interfering noise. provider orMotorola for information on hearingaid compatibility. If you havequestionsabout returnor exchange policies, contact yourservice provider orphone retailer.
The ratings are not guarantees. Results will varydepending on the user’s hearing device and hearing loss. Ifyourhearing device happens tobe vulnerableto interference, youmaynot beable to use a rated phone successfully. Trying out the phone with your hearing device isthe best way toevaluate it for yourpersonalneeds.M-Ratings:Phones rated M3 orM4 meet FCC requirements and are likely togenerate lessinterference tohearing devices than phones that are not labeled. M4 is the better/higher ofthe two ratings.T-Ratings: Phones rated T3 orT4 meet FCC requirements and are likelytobe more usable with a hearing device’s telecoil(“TSwitch” or “Telephone Switch”) than unrated phones. T4is the better/higherofthe two ratings.(Note that not allhearing deviceshave telecoilsin them.)
Hearing devicesmay also be measured for immunity to this type ofinterference. Yourhearing device manufacturer or hearing health professional may help you find results for yourhearing device. The more immune yourhearing aid is, the lesslikely you are to experience interference noise from mobile phones.
