Choose carefully

Apps are great. There's something for everyone. Play, communicate, work, or have fun. But remember, choose your apps carefully. Here are a fe w tips:
To help prevent spyware, phishing, or viruses from
affecting your phone or pri vacy, use apps from trusted sites, like
In
Market
before installing.
If you doubt the safety of an app, don't install it.
Like all apps, downloaded apps will use up memo ry ,
data, battery, and processing power—some more than others. For example, a simple battery level widget will use less than a streaming music player app. After installing an app, if you're not happy with how much memory, data, battery or processing power it's using, uninstall it. You can always install it again later.
Just like w eb browsing, you may want to monitor
childrens’ access to apps to help prevent exposure to inappropriate content.
Certain apps may not provide completely accurate
information. Take care, especially when it comes to personal health.

Specific Absorption Rate (IEEE)

SAR (IEEE)

YOUR MOBILE DEVICE MEETS FCC LIMITS FOR EXPOSURE TO RADIO WAVES.
Your mobi le dev i c e i s a radi o trans m i tter and receiver. It is designed not to exceed the limits for exposure to radio waves (radio frequency electromagnetic fields) adopted by th e Federal Communications Commission (FCC). These limits include a substantial safety margin designed to assure the s afety of al l pers ons, regardless of age and health. The radio wave exposure guidelines use a unit of measurement known as the Specific Absorption Rate, or SAR. Th e SA R l imit for m obi l e dev i ces is 1.6W/kg. Tests for S A R ar e co nducted using standard ope rati ng positions with the device transmitting at its highest c ertified power level in all test ed fr equency bands. The highest SAR values under the FC C gu id el in es for y our device model are listed below :
Head SAR CDMA 800/1900, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 1.39W/kg Body-worn SAR CDMA 800/1900, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 1.34W/kg
48
During use, the actual SAR values for your device are usual l y we ll bel ow the values stated. This is because, for purposes of system efficiency and to minimize interference on the network, the operatin g pow er of your mobile device is autom ati cal l y dec reased when full power is not needed for the call . Th e low er the power output of the device, the lower its SAR value. Body-worn SAR testing has been carried out using an approve d acc es s ory or at a separation distance of 2.5cm (1 inch). T o meet RF exposure guidelines duri ng body-worn operation, the device s hou ld be in an approved accessory or positi oned at least 2.5cm (1inch) away from the body. If you are not using an approved accessory, ensure that whatever product is used i s free of any m etal and that it positions the phone at lea s t
2.5cm (1inch) away from the body. The World Health Or ganization has stated that presen t sci en t ific in form ation does not indicate the need for any spe cia l pre c autions for the use of mobile devices. The y recommend that if you are in tereste d in further re duci ng your e xposu re the n you can eas ily do so by limiting y our usage or simply using a hands-free ki t to keep the devic e away from the head and body. Hearing Aid Compatibility with Mobile Phones

Hearing Aid Compatibility

Some Motorola phones are measured for compatibility with hearing aids. If the box for your particular model ha s “Rate d for Hearing Aids” printed on i t, the fo llowing explana tion applies. When some mo bile ph one s are us ed ne ar some h earing de vices (hearing aids and cochl ear implants), users may detec t a buzzing, humming, or whi ni ng no ise. Some hearing devices are more immune than others to this interference noise, and phones also vary in the amount of interference they generate. The wireless telephone i ndustry has de veloped ratings for some of thei r mob ile phone s, to assist hearing device us ers i n fin di ng phones that may be compatible with their hearing devices. Not all phones have been rated. Phones that are rated have the rating on their box or a label on the b ox. To maintain the published Hearing Ai d Comp atibi lity (HAC ) rating for this mobile phone, use on ly the original equipment battery mo del . This phone has been tested and rated for use with hearing aids for s om e of the wireless technologies that it uses. However, there may be so me newer wireless technol ogi es used in this phone that have not been tested yet for use with hearing aids. It is important to try the different features of this ph one thoroughly and in different locati ons, using your hearing aid or cochlear imp la nt, to determine if you hear any interfering no ise . Contact your service provider or Motoro la for in form ation on hearing aid compatibility. If you have questions about return or exc hange policies, contact your serv ice provider or phone retailer .
The ratings are not guaran tees . Re s ult s wil l vary dep ending on the user’s hearing devic e and hearing loss . I f y our hearing device happens to be vulnerable to interference, y ou may not be able to use a rated phon e suc c ess ful l y. Trying out the phone with your hearing device is the best way to evalu ate i t f or your personal needs.
M-Ratings:
Phones rated M3 or M4 meet FCC requirements and are likel y to generate less interference to hearing devices than phones that are no t la beled. M4 is the better/higher of the two rat ings .
T-R atings:
Phones rated T3 or T4 meet FCC requi reme nts and are lik ely to be more us able with a hearing device’s telecoil (“T Switch” or “T el ephone Switch”) than unrate d phones. T4 is the better/hi gher of the two ratings. ( Note that not all hea rin g devices have telecoils in them.) Hearing devices may also be m easured for immunity to this type of inte rference. Your hearing device manufacturer or hearing health professional may help you find results for your hearing device. The m ore imm une your hearing aid is, the less likel y you are to experience interferenc e noise from mobile phones.
