Problem:

An issue has been identified during the 2
A significant number of units have been returned with the customer complaint of ‘Display missing
segment’ .

The root cause of this failure has been identified as LCM material issue.(see Figure 1)

200 field returned radios analysis of Garnet.

Solution:

The LCM vendor Sharp modified LCM production process operation standard and Hangzhou factory has
issued MEM to stop use the Garnet Sharp old LCM on Nov 7th.
the code format is on the back of display. Please see figure 2. this photo shows 7630028001W old
material.

If we see LM14SGSNZ24 02X******X X, It corresponds with 7630028001W,D/C:02X.
If we see LM14SGSNZ25 02X******X X, It corresponds with 7630028002W,D/C:02X.

Service Action:

All Garnet phones returned to a Service Center with the Customer Complaint of ‘Display missing
segment’ need to verify if it is LCM material issue , then replace Display with Sharp Display.
