SL-200S SLAVE STEREO AMPLIFER

ScalablE !
Amplification for KP-
The Motion Sound SL-200S is designed to work seamlessly with a KP-200S stereo amplifier and will add a significant increase in volume (6 db) to a single KP-200S. Need More? You can daisy chain up to 10 SL-200S slaves to a KP-200S for a total of 22 10” speakers, 22 ferro cooled horns, (including the KP-200S) and 1200 watts of stereo power. Play a smaller venue? Take just the amount of power needed.
-
The SL-200S can produce high sound pressure levels, hearing protection is advised.
The SL-200S must be Earthed and connected to appropriate power for safe operation.
Input Design Must be used with a Motion Sound KP-200S amplifier only.

-Connection to KP-200S-
The top of the SL-200S has indents for the feet of a KP-200S or additional SL-200S slave. An
optional removable caster set (#DCS4) is available to make moving a “stack” easy.
Use the supplied MIDI type cord. If you need a replacement, make sure that all five wires are
present. Not all midi cables have them so be sure before you buy. The midi type cord is used for convenience, only audio is sent over the cord. DO NOT CONNECT TO MIDI DEVISES!
It is very important that the KP-200S and all SL-200S slaves be plugged into the same power
outlet. We highly recommend a good surge suppressor multi-outlet for this purpose. Improper
grounds and/or power wiring can cause “hum” or may even damage your amplifier(s).
It is OK to turn on all KP-200S/SL-200S power at the same time from a multi-outlet strip. If you
use several SL-200S slaves the “power on” surge may trip a breaker. If so, turn on the KP-200S first and then each of the SL-200S slaves. Reverse order at power down.
The length of the MIDI type cord (up to 100 ft.) is not very important but be sure you do not route
the cord close to power transformers. You can place SL-200S slaves several feet apart if desired.
-Operation and Sound-
Audio is fed form the KP-200S master volume control and includes all channels, EQ, Expand, and
“Click” input audio. There are no user adjustments on the SL-200S.
The audio output increase over a single KP-200S is a significant 6 db. You are adding two more
speaker sets and another 200 watts to your KP-200S. The sound also takes on a much larger more diffuse characteristic with better transient and bass response. Since more of the sound travels past you (if the amps are behind) the audience will hear a higher volume relative to what you hear on stage. Placing SL-200S slave(s) at different locations provides full stereo at the remote location.
Guitar players have used multiple speaker rigs for years to generate high SPL levels and now you
can have the same SPL in stereo hi-fidelity designed for Keyboard musicians!
-Maintenance-
Polymaric™ Coating This (proprietary polymer) finish is extremely rugged. It can be cleaned with
soap and water when needed. No other maintenance is required.
Speaker Replacement (note polarity) Remove screws from the front grill. Remove the side
handles and cut speaker wire cable ties. Speakers and horns are mounted from the front with screws into steel inserts. Wires from the amplifiers to speakers and horns utilize removable spade lugs.
Amplifier Chassis Removal The amplifier is removed through the left speaker hole, remove the
left 10” speaker first. Remove two screws form the rear of the amplifier chassis and five screws
from the bottom of the amplifier’s chassis.
