WARNING
Do not grasp the cooking grate with your hands while it is hot. Use barbecue mitts for handling.
If flare ups occur, at least one minute to stop flare-ups.Do not use water.
Cooking on the grates: Use barbecue mitts for handling the cooking grate. For SLOWER
cooking, shift the cooking grate toward the rear and into the upper grate bracket slots.
For FASTER cooking, shift the cooking grate toward the front and into the lower grate
bracket slots.
Use the lower position for searing steaks and hamburgers or when more heat is needed.
Food cooks very fast at this position, so watch your food carefully.
Raise the grate to the upper slot to finish cooking steaks and hamburgers. Start cooking with
the grate in the upper position for meats, such as pork and chicken, that have to be cooked a
long time. The top grate height is good for any time your fire is very hot.

preparations and after handling fresh meat, fish and poultry.
Defrost meat, fish and poultry in the refrigerator before cooking, not at room temperature.

Keep raw meats separate from cooked foods. Do not use the same plates to handle raw
meats and cooked foods.
Use separate cooking utensils for handling raw meats and cooked foods when grilling.
