Do
• WARNING: Whe n using the cable rewind,
always hol d the plug as the c able will rewind
quickly.

blockages which may result in over-heating.

• IMPORTANT: Always ensu re all filters are
fitted befo re use. Failure to do so may result
in damage to your product.
• Always dis connect the applian ce from the mains
supply aft er use or prior to emptying, cleaning or
maintainin g.
• Always unp lug the appliance f rom the mains before
cleaning. The vacuum cleaner, espec ially the dust
compartmen t and all accessori es, can be cleaned
using a da mp cloth or a non-a brasive cleaner and
wiped dry.
• Use only M orphy Richards spare parts and
accessorie s.
• Children sho uld be supervised to ensure that they
do not pla y with the applianc e, or stumble over the
power cord.
Do not
• WARNING: Nev er use the applian ce without
the filters being installed. I f the filter is
washed, en sure it is completel y dry before
refitting.
• IMPORTANT: When replacin g the pre-motor
filter, never repla ce the filter cage without the
filter inst alled.
• Do not use or keep this produc t outside.
• Do not sto re the appliance nea r hot surfaces eg.
ovens or h eating appliances.
• Do not all ow the mains lead t o become strained or
run this a ppliance over it.
• If the elect rical cable becomes d amaged, the cable
assembly m ust be replaced. Do not attempt this
task yours elf, contact the he lpline number that is
found at t he bottom of the pa ge.
• Never use in the presence of e xplosive liquid or
vapours.
• Never pick up inammable or p oisonous liquids
such as pe trol, copier toner o r other volatile
substances . Never pick up aci ds, asbestos or
asbestos d ust.
• Never touc h the plug or cable with wet hands.

Misuse or use for commercial o r any other purpose

Safety cut-ou t
• If the cle aner overheats, a m otor protection
thermostat will automatically switch the motor
off. If this happens, switch t he cleaner off,
unplug from the power supply, and leave the
cleaner to cool for at least 60 minutes. Check
the airway s for blockages, em pty the dust
canister a nd clean the filters before restarting.
Important safety instructions
Check t hat the voltage on the rating plate o f your
applian ce corresponds with your house electr icity
supply which must be A.C. (Alternating Curre nt).
If the socket outlets in y our home are not s uitable
for the plug supplied with this appliance, t he plug
should be removed and the appropriate one t ted.
WARNING : The plug removed from the mains
lead, i f severed, must be destroyed, as a pl ug
with a bared flexible cord is hazardous if en gaged
into a live socket outlet.
IMPORTANT: If you c ut off the plug and let go of
the cab le, it will rewind into the machine,
therefo re you must pull ou t a length of cabl e and
secure it before cutting t he plug off and re -fitting
a new o ne.
Should the fuse in the 13 amp plug require c hanging,
a 13 am p BS1362 fuse must be tted.
