To qual ify for the 2 year guarantee, the app liance must

have be en used according t o the instructions supplied.

It is im portant to retain th e retailer’s receipt as proof of
purchas e. Staple your rece ipt to this back c over for
future reference.

develop s a fault. These nu mbers can be found on the
base of the product.

All Mor phy Richards produc ts are individuall y tested
before leaving the factory . In the unlikely event of any
applian ce proving to be fa ulty within 28 day s of
purchas e, it may be return ed to the place of purchase
for it to be replaced. Alt ernatively, if you have a
problem, don,t take it back to the retailer, inst ead call
our hel pline: 0844 871 094 9 (for products purch ased
within the UK only).

If the fault develops afte r 28 days and with in 24
months of original purchas e, you should cont act the
Morphy Richards Helpline nu mber quoting the Mo del
number and Serial number o n the product, or write to
Morphy Richards at the add ress shown on the back of
this bo oklet. However, if you su spect a fault, foll ow the
simple checks detailed bel ow before retrying the
applian ce or calling the h elpline.

• Check the filters for blockage s.

• Check the tools / tubes for b lockages.

• Check the plug is firmly in th e socket.

• Check the socket is working b y trying another
appliance.

• Check the fuse in the plug.

Subject to the exclusions set out below, the faulty
applian ce will then be rep aired or replaced and
dispatc hed usually within 7 working days of receipt.
You may be asked to provide a copy of the proo f of
purchas e.

If, for any reason, this i tem is replaced du ring the 2
year gu arantee period, the guarantee on the new item
will be calculated from or iginal purchase da te.
Therefo re, it is vital to retain your origin al till receipt or
invoice to indicate the da te of initial purc hase.

Exclusio ns

Morphy Richards shall not be liable to repla ce or repair
the goo ds under the terms of the guarantee w here:

1 The fault has been caused or is a ttributable to
accidental use, misuse, negli gent use or used
contrary t o the manufacturer’ s recommendations
or where t he fault has been c aused by power
surges or damage caused in tr ansit.

2 The appliance has been used on a voltage supply
other than that stamped on th e product.

3 The lters hav e not been cleaned and replaced as
instructed on page 6.

4 Repairs have b een attempted by pe rsons other
than our s ervice staff (or au thorised dealer).

5 The appliance has been used for h ire purposes or
non domest ic use.

6 The appliance is second hand.

7 Morphy Richard s are not liable to carry out any
type of se rvicing work, under the guarantee.

8 The guarantee excludes consumable s such as

some lter s.

• This guara ntee does not confe r any rights other
than those expressly set out above and does not
cover any claims for conseque ntial loss or damag e.
This guara ntee is offered as an additional bene t
and does n ot affect your stat utory rights as a
consumer.

supply aft er use or prior to emptying, cleaning or
maintainin g.

• Always unp lug the appliance f rom the mains before
cleaning. The vacuum cleaner, espec ially the dust
compartmen t and all accessori es, can be cleaned
using a da mp cloth or a non-a brasive cleaner and
wiped dry.

• Use only M orphy Richards spare parts and
accessorie s.

• Children sho uld be supervised to ensure that they
do not pla y with the applianc e, or stumble over the
power cord.

the filters being installed. I f the filter is
washed, en sure it is completel y dry before
refitting.

• IMPORTANT: When replacin g the pre-motor
filter, never repla ce the filter cage without the
filter inst alled.

• Do not use or keep this produc t outside.

• Do not sto re the appliance nea r hot surfaces eg.
ovens or h eating appliances.

• Do not all ow the mains lead t o become strained or
run this a ppliance over it.

• If the elect rical cable becomes d amaged, the cable
assembly m ust be replaced. Do not attempt this
task yours elf, contact the he lpline number that is
found at t he bottom of the pa ge.

• Never use in the presence of e xplosive liquid or
vapours.

• Never pick up inammable or p oisonous liquids
such as pe trol, copier toner o r other volatile
substances . Never pick up aci ds, asbestos or
asbestos d ust.

• Never touc h the plug or cable with wet hands.

• Unprofession al repairs can be d angerous for users.

• The applia nce must never be l eft running
unsupervis ed.

• This appli ance is intended fo r domestic use onl y.
Misuse or use for commercial o r any other purpose
will render the guarantee inva lid.

• To protect against re, electric shock and personal
injury, do not im merse cord, plug or cleaner in
water or o ther liquid.

Safety cut-ou t

• If the cle aner overheats, a m otor protection
thermostat will automatically switch the motor
off. If this happens, switch t he cleaner off,
unplug from the power supply, and leave the
cleaner to cool for at least 60 minutes. Check
the airway s for blockages, em pty the dust
canister a nd clean the filters before restarting.

Important safety instructions

Check t hat the voltage on the rating plate o f your
applian ce corresponds with your house electr icity
supply which must be A.C. (Alternating Curre nt).

If the socket outlets in y our home are not s uitable
for the plug supplied with this appliance, t he plug

should be removed and the appropriate one t ted.

WARNING : The plug removed from the mains
lead, i f severed, must be destroyed, as a pl ug
with a bared flexible cord is hazardous if en gaged
into a live socket outlet.

IMPORTANT: If you c ut off the plug and let go of
the cab le, it will rewind into the machine,
therefo re you must pull ou t a length of cabl e and
secure it before cutting t he plug off and re -fitting
a new o ne.

Should the fuse in the 13 amp plug require c hanging,

a 13 am p BS1362 fuse must be tted.
