OPERATING THE APPLIANCE
1 Fit the hose to the cleaner by inserting the
hose connector Ì into the hose inlet and turning it anti-clockwise until it locks into place A.
To remove, turn clockwise.
2 Attach the metal telescopic tube Á to the
hose handle Ó.
Extend the telescopic tube to the required length by pressing down the tube release button Ë and pulling out the tube B.
3 Attach the combination floor nozzle Î to the
telescopic tube C.
Use the brush height adjustment switch Ï to switch between two positions:
• Brush up for carpets, rugs etc.
• Brush down for hard floors, tiles etc.
4 Pull out the power cable ‰ to its full length
and plug in to the mains supply.
A yellow mark on the power cable indicates the recommended cable length. Do not pull out the cable beyond the red mark.
5 Switch on by pressing the On/Off button ‚.
To switch off, press the On/Off button again.
6 After use, unplug and press the automatic
cable rewind button · to retract the power cable.
WARNING: When using the automatic cable rewind button, always hold the plug as the power cable will rewind quickly.

IMPORTANT: Do not use the turbo nozzle on suede and leather surfaces.
Following use, hair or fibres may become wrapped around the brush bar, reducing the performance. To remove:
1 Switch the vacuum cleaner off and disconnect
the power plug ‰ from the electrical outlet.
2 Lay the turbo nozzle on a flat surface and turn
over to expose the brush bar.
3 Using a pair of scissors, carefully cut through
any threads or hairs wrapped around the brush bar D.
If large particles are picked up, they may become trapped in the turbo fan and stall the brush bar. Open the fan cover to remove the trapped item.

TOOLS STORAGE
The crevice tool and upholstery nozzle with detachable dusting brush can be stored on board the hose handle for added convenience.
The on-handle tool storage may be removed if not required. Push the on-handle tool storage backwards towards the hose and pull away E.
SUCTION CONTROL
When required, the control on the hose handle may be slid backwards to reduce the suction. Slide forwards for maximum suction.
TUBE PARKING
During short breaks in cleaning, the tubes can be held in an upright, ‘standby’ position. Rotate the floor nozzle until the lug on the neck can be fitted into the tube standby slot  on the rear of the appliance, whilst you move furniture for instance.
IMPORTANT: Ensure that the appliance is never left unattended whilst it is switched on.
SAFETY CUT-OUT
If the cleaner overheats, a motor protection thermostat will automatically switch the motor off. If this happens, switch the cleaner off,
unplug from the power supply and leave the cleaner to cool for at least 60 minutes.
Check the airways for blockages, empty the dust canister and clean the filters before restarting.
PRODUCT STORAGE
IMPORTANT: Always unplug the vacuum cleaner from the electrical outlet and rewind the power cable as directed before storing.
NOTE: Always store the vacuum cleaner base down.
EMPTYING THE DUST CANISTER
Empty the dust canister ¤ regularly even if it does not look full, this will maintain the performance.
1 Unplug the cleaner from the mains outlet.

Press the dust canister release button fland pull the canister away from the main body F.
3 Take the canister to a dustbin.
4 Hold the dust canister over the dustbin.
Press the dust canister empty button › on the back of the dust canister. This opens the door at the base of the canister for the contents to be emptied-out.

FILTERS
IMPORTANT: Do not use any detergents or boiling water to wash the filters.
IMPORTANT: Never use the vacuum cleaner unless the filters are fitted. Never use the vacuum cleaner with wet or damp filters installed.
Dust canister screen filter
The dust canister screen filter should be cleaned every time the dust canister is emptied.
1 Follow steps 1-4 of ‘Emptying the Dust
Canister’.
2 Rotate the lid of the dust canister
anti-clockwise and lift away from the canister G.
3 Using a soft brush and a damp cloth, wipe
the dust canister filter and the dust canister clean H.
IMPORTANT: Ensure screen filter is thoroughly dry before re-fitting into the dust canister.
4 Re-attach the lid to the dust canister and
re-attach the assembly to the main unit.
Pre motor filter
The motor filter should be checked and, if necessary, cleaned every time the dust canister is emptied.
1 This filter is located behind the dust canister
¤. To access the filter, remove the dust canister (follow steps 1-2 of ‘Emptying the dust canister’, page 4).
2 To access the pre-motor filter, lift the filter
cover release tab I1 and lift off the filter cover I2.
2 Lift out the filter by pulling the tab towards
you J.
3 Remove the foam filter from its housing K.
4 Tap the filter clean over a dust bin to remove
the dust and dirt.
To thoroughly clean, rinse the filter in warm water but the filter must be thoroughly dry before re-use. Allow to air dry for 24 hours before replacing.
5 Return the pre-motor filter to its housing and
replace back into the vacuum cleaner, ensuring the pre-motor filter cover and dust canister are securely in place.

Exhaust filter
The exhaust filter should be cleaned every time the dust canister is emptied.
This filter is located beneath the On/Off button and the automatic cable rewind button · on the rear of the unit.
1 To access the exhaust filter, lift the exhaust
filter cover release latch Ê L1 and lift off the filter cover L2.
2 Pull the tab towards you to remove the
exhaust filter M.
3 Tap the filter clean over a dust bin to remove
the dust N.
The filter may be rinsed in warm water but must be thoroughly dry before re-use. Allow to air dry for 24 hours before replacing.
4 Replace the filter back into the main unit and
reattach the cover.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING: The power cable must be disconnected before all maintenance and cleaning procedures.
Cleaning
Your cleaner is manufactured to withstand normal day-to-day use, but an occasional wipe over will help maintain its good looks. Abrasive cleaners should not be used.
Blockages
1 Switch off the vacuum cleaner and remove
the plug from the electrical outlet.
2 To disconnect the hose Ò from the vacuum
cleaner, turn the hose connector Ì clockwise, then pull the hose away from the unit.
3 Remove any blockages then re-connect the
hose securely.

The use of any electrical appliance requires the following common sense safety rules.
Please read these instructions carefully before using the product.
Primarily there is danger of injury or death and secondly the danger of damage to the appliance.
Personal safety
• Keep loose clothing, hair, fingers etc. away from the floor nozzle whenever the cleaner is connected to the mains.
• Only lift the product by the carrying handle ‡.
• Disconnect from the mains supply before attempting to clear or clean the brush.
• Disconnect from the mains supply before cleaning or emptying the appliance.
• Never use in the presence of explosive liquid or vapours.
• Never pick up inflammable or poisonous liquids such as petrol, copier toner or other volatile substances. Never pick up acids, asbestos or asbestos dust.
• Never touch the plug or power cable with wet hands.
• Unprofessional repairs can be dangerous for users.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
• To protect against fire, electric shock and personal injury, do not immerse cable, plug or cleaner in water or other liquid.
Location
• Do not use or keep this product outside.
• Do not store the appliance near hot surfaces eg. ovens or heating appliances.
Power cable
• Do not allow the power cable to become strained or run this appliance over it.
• If the power cable becomes damaged, the power cable assembly must be replaced. Do not attempt this task yourself, contact the helpline number that is found at the bottom of the page.
Product safety
• Never use the appliance without the filters being installed.
• Never use the appliance with wet or damp filters.
• Never use the appliance to vacuum hot ashes, broken glass, sharp objects or liquids.
• Never over-extend the hose such that the cleaner is pulled over. If the cleaner is knocked over, switch off before attempting to upright.
• Never pick the cleaner up by the floor nozzle when connected to the mains, use the carrying handle.
• Never modify the cleaner in any way.
• Use only Morphy Richards spare parts and accessories.
• The appliance must never be left running unsupervised.
• This appliance is intended for domestic use only. Misuse or use for commercial or any other purpose will render the guarantee invalid.
• Always disconnect the appliance from the mains supply after use.
Children
• Children do not understand the dangers associated with operating electrical appliances. Never allow children to use this appliance.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance, or stumble over the power cable.
Electrical requirements
Check that the voltage on the rating plate of your appliance corresponds with your house electricity supply which must be A.C. (Alternating current).
If the socket outlets in your home are not suitable for the plug supplied with this appliance, the plug should be removed and the appropriate one fitted.
WARNING: The plug removed from the power cable, if severed, must be destroyed, as a plug with a bared flexible cable is hazardous if engaged into a live socket outlet.

All Morphy Richards products are individually tested before leaving the factory. In the unlikely event of any appliance proving to be faulty within 28 days of purchase, it may be returned to the place of purchase for it to be replaced. Alternatively, if you have a problem, don’t take it back to the retailer, instead call our helpline: 0844 871 0960 (for products purchased within the UK only).
If the fault develops after 28 days and within 24 months of original purchase, you should contact the Morphy Richards Helpline number quoting the Model number and Serial number on the product, or write to Morphy Richards at the address shown on the back of this booklet. However, if you suspect a fault, follow the simple checks detailed below before retrying the appliance or calling the helpline.
• Check the filters.
• Check the plug is firmly in the socket.
• Check the socket is working by trying another appliance.
• Check the fuse in the plug.
Subject to the exclusions set out below, the faulty appliance will then be repaired or replaced and dispatched usually within 7 working days of receipt. You may be asked to provide a copy of the proof of purchase.
If, for any reason, this item is replaced or repaired during the 2 year guarantee period, the guarantee on the new item will be calculated from original purchase date. Therefore, it is vital to retain your original till receipt or invoice to indicate the date of initial purchase.
EXCLUSIONS
Morphy Richards shall not be liable to replace or repair the goods under the terms of the guarantee where:
1 The fault has been caused or is
attributable to accidental use, misuse, negligent use or used contrary to the manufacturer’s recommendations or where the fault has been caused by power surges or damage caused in transit.
2 The appliance has been used on a
voltage supply other than that stamped on the products.
3 Repairs have been attempted by
persons other than our service staff (or authorised dealer).
4 The appliance has been used for
hire purposes or non domestic use.
5 The appliance is second hand.
6 Morphy Richards reserves the right
not to carry out any type of servicing or repair work, under the guarantee, at its discretion.
7 The guarantee excludes
consumables such as filters.
• This guarantee does not confer any rights other than those expressly set out above and does not cover any claims for consequential loss or damage. This guarantee is offered as an additional benefit and does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
