C
Before using the cleaner the floor nozzle
height must be set to the correct height.
Choose the setting which most closely matches your floor surface, ie deep carpet pile, medium carpet pile, short carpet pile or hard floor.
When using the attachments the cleaner must only be used in the upright position with the carpet height adjustment knob set to deep carpet.
Variable power
D
certain models only
Slide the variable power control to the right to increase the suction power or to the left to decrease suction. This feature is most useful when using the hose and accessories. release the handle to the desired position
E. 6 Press the on/off button to the ‘on’
position.

F
When the dust canister is full it should be emptied immediately. 1 Remove the front cover ‹ by lifting the
cover release lever ¤. 2 Lift-up the dust canister release Î and
pull the canister away from the main
body. 3 Hold the canister by the handle Ù over a
dustbin and with your other hand press
the dust release button Ò. The bottom of
the canister will drop down to release the
dirt. To close press the flap firmly until it
clicks into place. 4 Replace the canister by inserting the
base then pushing in the top. Replace the
front panel by aligning the bottom tabs
with the slots in the body, then pressing
in the top.
Cleaning the filters
To maintain suction, the filters must be regularly taken out and cleaned. Failure to clean the filters will reduce the suction and will damage the motor if used for prolonged periods. This may invalidate the guarantee. If the filters become damaged they must be replaced.
IMPORTANT: Do not operate the cleaner without the filters in place.

G

1 Remove the dust canister. 2 Lift out the filter and shake rigorously
over a dustbin.
The filter may also be washed in water (no detergents) but must be totally dry before re-fitting. 3 Replace the filter

1 Remove the front cover. 2 Remove the exhaust filter by pulling
forward at the top and lift it away. 3 Take the filter out of the cage and shake
vigorously over a dustbin. The filter may
also be washed in warm water. Do not
use detergents. The filter must by
completely dry before re-fitting. Allow
filters to air-dry naturally. 4 Replace the filter and the front cover.
