Touch screen display
Your alarm clock radio has a an innovative touch screen interactive display. Use the
pad of your finger or use the touch screen pointer rod to operate (see diagram for
location). We recommend the pointer rod to avoid finger prints.
Electrical requirements
Check the voltage on the rating plate of your clock radio corresponds with
your house electricity supply which must be A.C. (alternating current).
If the socket outlets in your home are not suitable for the plug supplied with
this appliance the plug should be removed and the appropriate one fitted.
IMPORTANT : THE PLUG IF SEVERED FROM THE MAINS LEAD MUST BE
DESTROYED AS A PLUG WITH A BARED FLEXIBLE CORD IS
HAZARDOUS IF ENGAGED INTO A LIVE SOCKET OUTLET.
Should the fuse in the 13 amp plug require changing a 3 amp BS1362 fuse
must be fitted.

Battery back-up facility (battery not included)
Unit will work without a battery being fitted
Your clock radio is equipped with a battery back-up facility.
1 Remove the battery compartment cover (underneath the unit) by
pushing in the clip and lifting off.
2 Insert a battery size 9 volts PP3/6LR61 (Ensure battery is inserted correctly).
3 Replace the battery compartment cover.
Should a power interruption occur the clock will continue to run, however, time
keeping will not be accurate. The time will be displayed but the backlight will be
extinguished to conserve battery life. The memory will retain details of the clock time
and alarm settings.
If the optional battery is not installed in case of the AC power failure the clock will
start working at 12:00 when power is restored. You will need to reset the clock and
alarm settings.
Battery back-up is designed to operate for a short period only.
If the unit is not to be used for a prolonged period, remove the battery to
avoid battery leakage.
In the interests of environmental safety : dispose of batteries safely.
Auto dimmer sensor
The unit has an automatic dimmer sensor. The clock display will dim automatically
depending upon the darkness.
Switching on and setting the clock time
Before any alarm functions can be used, you must set the clock to the correct time.
1 Place the unit on a flat surface. Plug the mains plug into the socket and switch on
at the wall socket.
2 The LCD clock display will light up.

3 Press the MODE button once, the current time will flash. You must adjust the
time whilst the clock display is flashing. Repeatedly press the UP or DOWN
buttons to change the time by 1 minute increments. Or hold down UP or DOWN
buttons to change the clock rapidly. The minutes will carry over to the hours if,
for example, the minutes change from 59 to 00 the hour will increment by 1.
4 The PM symbol will appear to indicate 12:00 midday has been reached.
5 Press the MODE button to confirm settings. The date will then flash. Either press
mode another 4 times for normal operation or set the date (see below) or wait for
15 seconds.
If no button is pressed for 15 seconds, the time is stored automatically and
returns to the original display.
Setting the calendar (year, date and month)
1 Press MODE twice. The calendar will flash.
2 Repeatedly press the UP or DOWN buttons to the change the date in 1-day
increments. Hold UP or DOWN buttons to change the date by 10-day
increments. If the UP or DOWN buttons are held down for more than 10
seconds, the date will change by 30 day increments.
If no button is pressed for 15 seconds, the date is stored automatically and
returns to the original display.
Note: The date will carry over to the month if, for example, the date changes
from the last day of the month to the 1st, the month will increment by 1. If the
month changes from Dec to Jan, the left most 4 digits will increase to the next
year.
3 Press the MODE button to store the calendar setting. The ALARM 1 time will then
flash. Either press the MODE button another 3 times or set the ALARM 1 time
(see section entitled ‘setting the alarms’) or wait for 15 seconds.

Setting the alarms
1 You can set two independent alarms to sound (by buzzer or by radio) each day
of the week (Monday to Sunday) or from Monday to Friday or only weekend.
Repeatedly press the MODE button until the alarm 1 time appears and flashes.
2 Press the UP or DOWN to set the alarm time.
3 Repeatedly press the SNOOZE button to the set the alarm to sound every day.
(SUN MON TUE WED THU FRI SAT appears) or Monday through to Friday
(MON TUE WED THU FRI appears) or only Sunday and Saturday (SUN and
SAT) appears.
4 Press the DISPLAY button once to the set the alarm mode: buzzer
(bell), press
again to set to
(radio) and press again to turn the alarm completely off.
5 Press MODE button to store the ALARM 1 time. Then the ALARM 2 time starts
flashing, repeat steps 1-4 to set the ALARM 2 time.
If no button is pressed for 15 seconds, the alarm time is stored automatically
and returns to the original display.
Cancelling the alarm
1 To temporarily silence the alarm ( or ), press the SNOOZE button. This
silences the alarm for about 9 minutes. Press any key to silence the alarm. The
alarm will sound again at the next preset alarm time.
2 To cancel the alarm permanently, press the MODE button 3 times, then press the
DISPLAY button until the icons disappear.
Repeat for alarm 2 if necessary.

Radio operation
• To obtain maximum FM reception fully extend the wire FM aerial (which is located
at the rear of the unit) and alter the direction of the wire for best results.
• The aerial for the MW waveband is located inside the unit. To obtain maximum
MW reception rotate the clock radio.
1 Press the POWER / SLEEP button.
2 Adjust the VOLUME control to a suitable level.
3 Press the BAND button to either MW or FM as desired.
4 Press UP or DOWN buttons to select the desired station. Hold UP or DOWN
for about 1 second. The radio automatically tunes to the next higher or lower
station with a strong signal.
5 To switch off the radio, press the POWER / SLEEP button.
Notes
If no strong signal is found, press the UP or DOWN buttons to stop tuning.
Using the memory
You can store up to 20 stations in memory (MW x 10, FM x 10). Follow these steps
to store a station into memory.
1 Tune to the band and station you want to store.
2 Hold MEM until MEMO flashes.
3 Within 15 seconds, press buttons 1-5 on the display for the desired memory
location. You can also repeatedly press UP or DOWN buttons until the number
(0-9 in each band) for the desired memory location appears.
4 Press MEM again to store the station in the memory location.
Note: If you do not store the station within 15 seconds, MEMO disappears. Repeat
steps 2-4.
• To tune to a stored station, repeatedly press and release MEM until the numbers
for the desired memory location and the station appear. For presets 1-5, you can
press number key 1-5 to recall the stored station.

Last station memory function
The frequency of the last station tuned to before switching off the unit will be stored
in the memory. When the unit is switched on again, it will receive this station in the
respective waveband. When changing the waveband, the last station tuned to in
each waveband will also be stored in the memory.
Setting the sleep function
• Repeatedly press POWER / SLEEP twice for 2 seconds, until the sleep icon
and sleep time 10 appears. The radio turns on.
• To increase the sleep time, repeatedly press the POWER / SLEEP button, each
time you press POWER / SLEEP, the sleep time is increased by 10 minutes.
(The minimum sleep time you can have is 10 minutes; the maximum sleep time
you can have is 90 minutes).
Notes: If you don’t press any key for 15 seconds, the sleep timer is stored
automatically and returns to the original display. It will not display the SLEEP time.
If the clock reaches a preset alarm time while the sleep timer is counting down, the
alarm cancels the balance of the sleep timer setting.
When the sleep time has elapsed, the radio will turn off automatically.
Cancel sleep by pressing SNOOZE or POWER / SLEEP.
Setting the timer
1 Press the TIMER button then preset timer 20 and - 00 appears.
2 Press the UP or DOWN buttons to change the timer duration up to 99 minutes.
Repeatedly press UP or DOWN buttons to change timer duration by 1 minute.
Hold down the UP or DOWN buttons to change the timer fast.
Note: If you don’t press any key within 2 seconds, the unit stores the timer
setting automatically. It shows the running count down time.

At the end of the preset time, the buzzer will sound and the timer icon will flash.
Press TIMER button to switch off the buzzer.
Using the display function
1 When the radio is on, each press of the DISPLAY button will display the following
in turn:
LCD display frequency clock + date year + date alarm 1 alarm 2
clock + temperature clock + second
2 In standby mode (with timer not set), each press of the DISPLAY button will
display the following in turn:
LCD display clock + date year + date alarm 1 alarm 2
clock + temperature clock + second
3 In standby mode (with timer set), each press of the DISPLAY button will display
the following in turn:
clock + date year + date alarm 1 alarm 2
clock + temperature clock + second timer
If you don’t press the DISPLAY key continuously, LCD will display the current
select state.
Temperature selection
1 Repeatedly press the MODE button, until the LCD display is showing clock and
temperature, press the DISPLAY button whilst the temperature is flashing, LCD
display will alternate between Fahrenheit (oF) mode and Centigrade (oC) mode. If
you don’t press any key for 15 seconds, LCD will keep the current status and
the temperature will stop flashing.
Every 15 seconds the clock radio will test the temperature and update the indoor
temperature automatically.
ATTENTION: To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not remove
the cover. There are no user serviceable parts inside the unit.
Refer any servicing to qualified personnel.
The lightning flash with arrowhead symbol within the triangle is a warning sign
alerting the user of ‘dangerous voltage’ inside the unit.
The exclamation point within the triangle is a warning sign alerting the user of
important instructions accompanying the product.

Warning labels
WARNING: to reduce the risk of electric shock, do not expose this appliance
to rain or moisture.
Backlight
When the mains power is connected to the unit, the backlight will always be on. It will
dim automatically depending upon the darkness.
The backlight will be extinguished in the event of a power cut and a backup battery
is fitted. The display will still display the time.
Maintenance
Do not expose your clock radio to extreme of temperatures. The product should
be kept in a warm environment free from dust and damp. For external cleaning
use only a soft, clean, damp cloth. Use of detergents may damage the finish.
