Reflexology Guide
What is reflexology?
The Chinese, Indians and Egyptians first practised the ancient art of reflexology. It relates to the science of stimulating the body’s natural healing forces through foot massage.
How can reflexology help?
Due to injury, stress or illness, the body can end up in a state of ‘imbalance’. Vital energy pathways can be blocked, which can prevent the body from functioning properly.
Reflexology can be used to release these blockages and return the body to its natural equilibrium, thus encouraging the healing process.
Reflexology can be used to bring relief from a wide range of acute and chronic conditions including headaches/migrane, asthma, circulatory problems, back and neck problems, digestive problems, stress and tension.
Who can benefit from reflexology?
Many people can benefit from reflexology as it treats the entire body, rather than just the symptoms of disease. However it is important that the following people take special care: pregnant women, those with a history of thrombosis and those suffering from chronic heart disease.
Using the reflexology node
Please refer to the above diagram to decide which area of the foot you require massaged. Then place the desired section of the foot over the reflexology node.
