Retro Ceramic Spiral Tong
Using your tong
After washing your hair, it’s really
important to prepare it for styling.
If you use lots of heated styling tools
on your hair always use a heat protection
spray before you begin styling. Always dry
the excess water from your hair using a
towel, and then use a widetooth comb to
detangle and smooth your hair.
Use your hair dryer until your hair
is thoroughly dry. Applying high
temperatures to damp or wet hair will
increase the probability of hair breaking
or becoming permanently damaged.
Divide your hair into sections and
comb each section thoroughly.
Slide the On/Off switch to turn your
tong on. The red light will illuminate to
show your tong is turned on. Clamp the
end of a small section of hair in between
the barrel and the lever. Raise the lever by
pressing down firmly. Once the hair is in
place, wind the barrel towards the root of
your hair wrapping hair around the barrel
following the spiral on the tong as you go.
Be careful not to let the barrel get too
close to your head, as it reaches a really
high temperature. Hold the tong in place
for a few seconds only, then release the
clamp lever and let the curl unwind.
Repeat on all sections of your hair.
There is no need to leave the hair around
the barrel for longer than a few seconds.
This will avoid unnecessary damage to
the hair cuticle.
Your tong reaches a very hot temperature
really quickly, so be careful not to leave
your tong on surfaces like carpets, which
could get damaged.
Don’t forget – to switch off your tong
and store when you have finished styling.
If you want to store your styler in the gift
box, always make sure it has cooled down.
Wiring
This product is fitted with a 13 amp
(BS1363) plug. A 13 amp fuse
(BS1362) must be used.
If the socket outlets in your home are
not suitable for the plug supplied with
this appliance, the plug should be
removed and the appropriate one fitted.
WARNING: The plug
removed from the mains lead,
if severed, must be destroyed
as a plug with bared flexible
cord is hazardous if engaged
into a live socket outlet.
Mains lead.
As a safety precaution and to prolong
the life of your appliance, do not wrap
the mains lead around the appliance
as this can cause damage.
Cleaning your tong
Over time, you may find a natural build
up on your tong barrel. This can be
caused by natural oils in your hair and
styling products. In order to avoid this
you should clean your tong regularly.
Always switch your tong off and wait
for it to cool down. Wipe with a damp
cloth, or a non abrasive cleaning wipe.
Failure to do this may mean the build
up becomes burnt onto the barrel and
it will become difficult to clean. If your
tong barrel does become discoloured
it will NOT affect its performance.
