Retro Ceramic Straightener Model No. 22074
Instructions and Guarantee
Retro Ceramic Straightener
Using your straightener
After washing your hair, it’s really important to prepare
it for styling. If you use lots of heated styling tools on
your hair always use a heat protection spray before you
begin styling. Always dry the excess water from your
hair using a towel, and then use a widetooth comb to
detangle and smooth your hair.
Use your hair dryer until your hair is thoroughly dry.
Applying high temperatures to damp or wet hair will
increase the probability of hair breaking or becoming
permanently damaged. Divide your hair into sections
and comb each section thoroughly.
Slide the On/Off switch to turn your straightener on.
The red light will illuminate to show your straightener
is turned on. Clamp a section of the hair between the
straightening plates as close to the roots as possible.
Gently slide the straightener down your hair shaft
to the ends. For more difficult sections of hair, you
may need to do this again. Repeat on all sections of
the hair. There is no need to leave the hair between
the plates for longer than a few seconds. This will
avoid unnecessary damage to the hair cuticle.
Your straightener reaches a very hot temperature really
quickly, so be careful not to leave your straightener
on surfaces like carpets, which could get damaged.
Don’t forget – to switch off your straightener
and store when you have finished straightening.
If you want to store your straightener in the gift box,
always make sure your straightener has cooled down.
Wiring
This product is fitted with a 13 amp (BS1363) plug.
A 13 amp fuse (BS1362) must be used.
If the socket outlets in your home are not suitable for
the plug supplied with this appliance, the plug should
be removed and the appropriate one fitted.
WARNING: The plug removed
from the mains lead, if severed,
must be destroyed as a plug with
bared flexible cord is hazardous if
engaged into a live socket outlet.
Mains lead.
As a safety precaution and to prolong the life of
your appliance, do not wrap the mains lead around
the appliance as this can cause damage.
Cleaning your straighteners
Over time, you may find a natural build up on your
straightening plates. This can be caused by natural
oils in your hair and styling products. In order
to avoid this you should clean your straightener
regularly. Always switch your straightener off and
wait for it to cool down. Wipe with a damp cloth,
or a non abrasive cleaning wipe. Failure to do this
may mean the build up becomes burnt onto the
plates and it will become difficult to clean. If your
straightening plates do become discoloured it will
NOT affect its performance.
